What is your style?

Describe it. Style wise I would say that I strive to create images that are full of life; it is my goal to capture images that you will remember for a long time. Creative keywords for me are cine-matic, fresh, bold and polished.

What is your process? Describe your treatments.

My process begins with a well-lit image, color balanced and corrected that is then carefully re-touched, perfecting the model’s skin while re-taining as much natural skin texture as possible. I will not change the SHAPE of her/his body, face and limbs (I don’t believe in heavy body manipu-lation). Then I will color grade the image, adjust saturation/vibrance and will push/pull contrast and shadow to create the mood I am after.

How do you make a living off your work, or do you? Is there someone who supports you?

I make a limited wage off my photography / re-touching work and tend to view it more of as a personal, creative outlet. I make my living as a full-time graphic designer, with some project specific photography as part of that job.

What inspires you for a shoot? Why?

I love a great story and photography is an ex-cellent tool for visually communicating a story or feeling. In a single image, I can capture the mood, style and feeling I’m trying to convey

about a topic whether that is isolation or the spirit of play.

Do you plan the entire shoot concept, or have help?

I tend to plan the entire shoot concept myself, but am always open to contributions from the team.

Who do you look up to in the industry? Why?

David Benoliel for his clean, pure fashion aes-thetic. Tim Walker and Nick Knight for their cre-ative vision and storytelling abilities.

How do you sell your work, your own site, a provider? Any advice to others?

I don’t sell my work other that to clients in the form of paid contract work. I am currently look-ing into stock photography options for future work.

How do you take criticism? DO you take it well? How do you manage criticism? Why does it ef-fect you good/negative?

I like to think I take it well, when it is offered in a constructive and positive manner. There is always room grow creatively and I think hearing from your peers about what did well and what you can improve on will only serve to develop

Who would you like to shoot? Celebrities, mod-el, designer? Why? My inspirations range from Marc Lagrange,Szy-mon Brodziak & Ingo Kremell Those three are masters of their craft and you will find similarities in my photography.

What caused you to become a photographer/fashion photographer/artist/Designer? Why?

I’ve always looked at Art from the sidelines and never really consider myself an artist aside from being a musician and a Film Maker but lately after looking at what photography has to offer and combined with my past careers I truly feel I found something I can be successful at without feeling like I have to work another day in my life.

In 2013 after 12 years as a Senior graphic De-signer for a major Television broadcasting studio i was laid off and started to think about my next move. I’ve spent a few years back in college in-side a dark room toying with photography again after a few years in Film school back in the 90s but its not until I lost my job that I could finally afford getting my own gear, up until them I was mostly retouching, editing and composing from photographs taken by others and always said to myself I wish I would take these pictures myself. Now I do! I started by flirting with Landscapes and still love it but It often feel like its missing something, so i turned to my circle of friends which are mostly actors, musicians, film makers

and models so it wasn’t too long before I had to connect with fabulous Makeup artists and de-signer and my journey is still only beginning.

Do you edit your own work? If so, explain why.

I love editing my work, mostly because some of my images stick with me in my dreams and I of-ten wakeup in the morning wanting to go revis-it the things and try a different approach but of course most of the times I simply end up using my first edit. As a former graphic designer there is almost no end to how i can manipulate my images and even if everything is perfect right out of camera, It’s sometimes impossible to shoot in locations my dreams come up with, so I have to create them.

What did you want to be when you were little? Why? My mother was a nurse and father a police offi-cer, I was told I should be one and force to join they army, they never succeeded getting me to cut my long hair short enough back in the 70s so I because a hairdresser after 2 years of uni-versity.

When do you know your image is done when editing? What gives you that indication?

Simple answer it’s never done even after 3 or 4 revisions... I just have to move on, I have that feeling every shoot.
