We cannot comprehend the severity of your pain or the extent of your loss. Our words cannot begin to describe your suffering, much less to alleviate your pain”. The martyrs of the tragedy can never be forgotten, he added. In his message, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Idrees extended his heartfelt sympa- thies to the families of the martyred students and all those who became victims of the tragic incident of Army Public School Peshawar.“I share the pain and grief with the bereaved families. The entire Pak- istani nation feels and shares the pain of the tragedy and stand by the mourning families, “he said. Asad Shah Jehan Received PhD Degree By: - Sajid Ali OBSERVER REPORT: - Asad Shah Jehan, Assistant Professor in D partment of Management Sciences successfully defended his PhD thesis. His PhD topic was “The Impact of Organiza- tional Silence and Voice on Organizational Citizenship and Counterproductive Work Behaviours with the Moderat- ing Role of Organizational Identification’’. His supervisor was Dr. Muhammad Yasir. On this occasion, Registrar of Hazara University Prof. Dr. Manzoor Hussain Shah, and Dr. Muhammad Yasir con- gratulated him and appreci- ated his efforts. Uks Conducted Workshop at Media Studies By: - Aima Deyan OBSERVER REPORT: - Uks- A re- search, resource and publication centre on women and media arranged a workshop titled “Recog- nizing Gender-based Violence in our Communities-causes and Conse- quences” at Department of Com- munication and Media Studies, Hazara University. The main aim of the work- shop was to recognized gender- based violence and discrimination and to aware new generation about the gender-based discrimination The representative of Human rights Commission of Pak- istan (HRCP) Mr. Mumtaz Shah, working journalist and Vice Presi- dent of Mansehra Press Club Sher Afzal Khan and program coordina- tor Amra participated in it. . Mr. Mumtaz shah ex- plained the key points about gender- based discrimination, its forms and also discussed its main causes. Working journalist Sher Afzal Khan said that we should have to report that types of news for news organi- zation and have to investigate the story first. Majid-ul-Ghafar, lecturer of CMS department said that the ethics of journalism does not allow any reporter or journalist to dissem- inate biased, false and unfair news. 4 Scholars of Bioinformatics Got MPhil Degrees By:- Kainat Tanveer OBSERVER REPORT: - The scholars Zafar Abbas Shah, Farzana Bibi, Zainab Bukhari and MadihaMehboobof Depart- ment of Bioinformatics, Hazara University defended successfully their MPhil research thesis. Their external examiners were Dr. Abdul Wadood, Dr. Zafar Jamal, Dr. Naz- ima Habib from Abdul Wali Khan University and Dr. Shumaila Noreen from Peshawar University. The Vice chancellor Prof. Dr Muhammad Idrees congratulated the Head of Department and said that the Department of Bioinfor- matics played a key role in produc- ing four MPhil scholars in such a short period of time. On this occa- sion Prof. Dr. Manzoor Hussain Shah registrar Hazara University, scholars and students were also present. 3 Urdu Department Scholars defended Thesis By: - Bushra Nazeer OBSERVER REPORT:- Three MPhil scholars of Urdu Depart- ment Hazara University defended their thesis successfully. Ghazala Shaheen, her topic was “Musarat- Laghari Ba-hasiyat-e-Mizah Ni- gaar”. Her external examiner was Prof. Khalill from Education Uni- versity Faisalabad. Saleemullah, his topic was “Dr.Saleem Akhter Kay Afsaanoon mein Samaji Shahoor”. His external examiner was Prof. Dr. Sohail from the Department of Urdu Peshawar University.Abdul Razzaq Pervaiz, his topic was “Mirza Hamid Baig Kay Afsanoon mein ilaamat Nigaari”. His external examiner was Prof. Raja Abdul Ka- reem from the Department of Urdu Azad Kashmir University. Blood Donation Camp Organized in HU By:- Momina Nusrat PhD Scholar Published 13 Research Papers OBSERVER REPORT: - Hayat Ullah Wazir, a PhD scholar of Chemistry Department Hazara University published 13 re- search papers in international jour- nals, 12 research papers are in process, some submitted and some are under revision. He is among one of those students in the university who gave such an excellent per- formance in academics under the su- pervision of Dr. Fazal Rahim. Dr. Fazal is an Assistant Professor in Chemistry Department Hazara University Mansehra. Talking to The Campus Observer Hayat Ullah asserted, “I am feeling very happy that my 13 research papers are published, this is pos- sible with the guidance of my supervisor and prayers of my parents and Inshallah I will do my level best in research work in future too”. By: - Komal Zulfikar OBSERVER REPORT: - Hazara University arranged a blood dona- tion camp in collaboration with Pak- istan Bait-ul-Mal. The purpose of the blood camp was to offer the blood to a Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal. Then this very centre further provides the blood to Pakistan Thalassemia Cen- tre in order to save the lives of tha- lassemia patients. Students of various Blood groups came forward and their HB level was tested properly in order to avoid any critical situation and to confirm whether he or she is able to donate the blood or not. The student with normal HB amount of 12-15ml was allowed to donate the blood. Ap- proximately 115 male and female students with various blood groups donated their HB whole heartedly. The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Idrees visited the blood donation camp. On this occasion, he said, “Blood plays an important role in regulating the body’s systems. I am glad that students are taking part in blood donation” The doctors of Pakistan Bait-ul- Mal Islamabad and Mr. Bilal Khan, district officer Bait-ul-Mall Mansehra office and the Chief Proc- tor Hazara University Mr. Adeel were also present on this occasion. Talking to The Campus Ob- server, The Chief Proctor Hazara University Mr. Adeel asserted, “The University is serving the Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal in every best possible way, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal made a commitment to give scholarship of Rs: l lac for fifty poor and needy stu- dents in coming two years”
