Narrative Report:
One hundred ten (110) elderly people were benefited this year to
receive aid from OUD IN
AFRIKA. With the global crisis everyone is experiencing at this
moment, the help given tothese elderly people especially food is
very valuable. To receive this help is something the
poor, elderly people are looking forward to every month. They
are the ones who is always
vulnerable to the effect of the global food crisis.
This year 2008, better service was given to these elderly poor
people. They continue
receiving help from the clinic for their medicines and treatment
especially for the ones
affected with podoconiosis or elephantiasis. Others were given
extra food supplement like
milk and multivitamins because of tuberculosis. Christmas season
was something special for
them this year. For them, it was Christmas too. With the 100.00
Birr each of them received
this Christmas, they were able to lay something special on their
table to share with their
families. Others were able to buy new clothes they proudly wore
in church. It is always a
joyful feeling to see these elderly people happy and knowing
someone there cares for them.
The Daughters of Charity, Danka, Dembidollo is very grateful for
the help OUD IN AFRIKA
is giving to the elderly people of Samerro Village and Danka.
You were able to touch their
lives and have given them joy even this may be short lived as
they ready themselves to face
their Creator. They are now aware that there are people who are
helping them in order to be
relieved from the pangs of hunger and the pains of old age. In
behalf of these poor elderly
people we say our THANK YOU more than our hearts can say. God
bless you all and your
