o ATAR score of 99.85o Year 12 School DUX, Kalamunda Senior High School (2014)o Hon. John Day MLA Citizenship Award (2014)o High Distinction or greater in Australian Mathematics Competition from Year 8-Year 12 (2010-2014)o School Councillor or Sports Captain from Year 9-Year 12 (2011-2014)

ENGINEERING PROJECTS COMPLETEDChina Short-Term Exchange Trip, December 2016

Was one of ten engineering students selected to travel to Wuhan Institute of Technology in China for two weeks with a strong focus on internationalisation and the relationship between Australia and China. This involved being immersed in both their cultural and engineering practices as we participated in classes such as:

o Using SolidWorks to generate a 3D model of an object and how to use 3D printers to print completed models.o Exploring various museums and displays that illustrate the civil architecture, design and infrastructure of the city

of Wuhan both in the past and what it has envisioned for the future.o Using a range of mechanical power tools and hand tools to construct a usable metal hammer.o Gaining a deeper understanding of a foreign culture by participating in culturally significant activities such as

ceramic processing, Chinese folk dancing, basic conversational Mandarin and visiting historical sites in Beijing, Shanghai and Yichang.

Engineering Foundations – Principles and Communication:

Students formed small companies and were required to work as an engineering team as they recorded weekly Minutes of Meetings, completed weekly progress reports and:

1. Completed a design package for a mousetrap car, which included design drawings, design specifications, tender evaluation criteria and a safety plan

2. Completed a tender application for another company’s design and evaluated tenders for their design3. Constructed, tested and gave presentations on the performances of their vehicle

Our company placed 2nd overall, out of approximately 50 companies.

Engineering Foundations – Design and Processes:

Students formed small companies and participated in the Engineers Without Borders Challenge, the purpose of which was to design an efficient and sustainable solution to improve living conditions for the people of Bambui, Cameroon. This involved acting as a professional company as they:

1. Completed a stakeholder’s report identifying the problem, underlying factors affecting the problem and key stakeholders who would be impacted by a proposed solution

2. Used 3D modelling program SketchUp to design potential solutions3. Chose a final design, completed a design report explaining all the features and presented a business pitch to a

committee about the chosen design
