Children’s Response Reading

Topic: Daniel in the Lion’s Den 

Teacher : Daniel prayed to God three times every day.

Boys: This did not make the King happy.

Girls: He bowed his knees to pray and praise God.

Teacher : Even when Daniel heard about the new law, he still went to his house,opened the windows, and prayed to God.

All: Thank you, God, for Daniel’s example to us! 

Teacher : Then the officials found him praying asking God for help, and they went

and told the King.

Boys: So the King gave an order for Daniel to be put in the Lion’s Den. 

Girls: The King did not eat or drink.

Boys: The King was very upset.

Teacher : The next morning, the King went to check on Daniel and called,“Daniel, servant of the living God, did your God close the mouths of the lions andprotect you all night?

Girls: Daniel told the King he was safe.

Boys: The King was very happy and removed Daniel from the lion’s den. 

All: The King wrote a letter and told the people that Daniel’s God was the trueGod. References used: Daniel 6
