TEACHERS. NOT TUTORS. At Jarrell Education, your son or daughter doesn't get a tutor,
he or she gets the best teacher from a neighboring school. Years ago, we saw the weaknesses of franchise tutoring firms;

PRAY FOR THE SICK Please remember in your prayers those who are ill and those suffering extended illness.
Scripture Readings June 21, 2020
12th Sunday in Ordinary Time First Reading: Jeremiah 20:10-13 Because the prophet Jeremiah foretold disaster for Jerusalem, he was denounced. But Jeremiah trusted in the Lord and overcame his persecutors.
Second Reading: Romans 5:12-15 Paul explains to the Romans that Adam’s sin brought death to all, but Christ’s gift of himself brought grace and life.
Gospel: Matthew 10:26-33 In authoritative and encouraging words, Jesus urges the apostles to fear nothing -- only him who can destroy the soul. Telling them “every hair of your head has been counted,” he promises that “Whoever acknowledges me before men I will acknowledge before my Father in heaven.”
Prayer for Father’s Day Heavenly Father, Today we ask You to bless our earthly fathers for the many times they reflected the love, strength, generosity, wisdom and mercy that You exemplify in Your relationship with us, Your children. We honor our fathers for putting our needs above their own convenience and comfort; for teaching us to show courage and determination in the face of adversity; for challenging us to move beyond self-limiting boundaries; for modeling the qualities that would turn us into responsible, principled, caring adults. Not all our fathers lived up to these ideals. Give them the grace to acknowledge and learn from their mistakes. Give us the grace to extend to them the same forgiveness that you offer us all. Help us to resist the urge to stay stuck in past bitterness, instead, moving forward with humility and peace of heart. We ask your blessing on those men who served as father figures in our lives when our biological fathers weren’t able to do so. May the love and selflessness they showed us be returned to them in all their relationships, and help them to know that their influence has changed us for the better. Give new and future fathers the guidance they need to raise happy and holy children, grounded in a love for God and other people – and remind these fathers that treating their wives with dignity, compassion and respect is one of the greatest gifts they can give their children. We pray that our fathers who have passed into the next life have been welcomed into Your loving embrace, and that our family will one be day be reunited in your heavenly kingdom. In union with St. Joseph, whom you entrusted with Your Son, we ask Your generous blessings today and every day. Amen. (A Christopher Prayer for Father’s Day)

Time to Say Goodbye
These past months have posed many challenges adjusting to guidelines and regulations aimed at keeping us healthy and safe. It has been a difficult time for me to make a transition. Change is always difficult, but not being able to interact with you all has made it more challenging. I am grateful that we are able to gather in limited ways now. With that in mind, I would like to have an opportunity to see as many of you as possible before I leave. On Sunday, June 28 at 12:30pm, we will have a simple gathering outside of church. Details are still pending, but you are invited to “stop by” outside of church for a brief visit. I would be delighted to see you all.
Father’s Day Collection
This weekend, our second collection is for Seminarian Education. This is an additional way to support our future spiritual Fathers. We have had the unique opportunity to see seminarians first-hand. Sebastian and all seminarians are a sign of hope for our Church. We play a role in his formation; helping him in a special way to adapt to a new culture. Support of this collection is an affirmation of his (and all of our diocesan seminarians’) decision to study for the Priesthood and an acknowledgement of his call to serve God by serving His people. As always, thank you for your kindness. Peace, Fr. Jared
YOUTH MINISTRY
Due to Covid-19, the Catholic Heart Work Camp has been cancelled for this summer. All students will receive a full refund. Please keep the Catholic Heart staff and all the communities they serve in your prayers.

NEWS FROM THE RELIGIOUS EDUCATION OFFICE

I am not sure what Religious Education will look like in the fall, so watch for updates. Registration will open soon. You are in my prayers at this time of change and I ask for your prayers in return. Thanks, and God bless, Lisa Gervasio, DRE
