1. Discovery

Chapter 1: Discovery

"Oi! Dutch! What the fucks up with the mist!?" Yelled an iratewoman's voice on a small cargo boat. The scene to almost any otheronlooker would look quite eerie, with the all encompassing mistfalling around the dull grey lagoon ship. Said ship was almost deadin the water, according to Balalaika, the area would be easiest toget through if less noise was made. If it weren't for Revy's screamsof frustration, it would make a perfect horror scene.

Dutch rubbed his temples and tapped at his communicator a few times"*sigh…* Revy, come down here a sec… I got something important totell you about the job…" Dutch knew what backlash he was about toget, and it didn't make his job any better. However, if anybody hadthe right to know, it was her, keeping this secret any longer wouldjust dig his grave deeper.

Speaking of graves, did he finish everything on his bucketlist?

Taking one last drag of what may be his final cigarette with a fullyfunctional jaw, Dutch prepares himself for the wrath of a mother.Black pants? Check. Finished and signed will? Check. No regrets inlife?... perhaps he should hold out on this afterall.

Just as he had finished depositing his cigarette in an ash tray, thehatch to the lagoon opened and Revy slid down the ladder, her bootsmaking an audible clunk against the metal floor. She turned aroundand paused before looking at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Where's Rock and Benny at? 'Thotcha had somethin' important to sayabout the job." Revy leaned against the wall next to the ladder, herpuzzled look still in place. Dutch leaned forward and clasped hishands in front of him, and even though he had his shades on, Revycould see the seriousness in his gaze at her.

"This is somethin' only you and me know about, and I will leave it toyou to decide whether you tell Rock and Benny now, or have themfigure it out later…" The subject he was about to broach couldeither trigger a landmine or earn him the eternal gratitude ofRevy… hell knowing her, probably both.

For Revy, what Dutch just said made her both concerned and confused,most of the stuff between her and Dutch was in the past and dealtwith according to her; keyword being most.

Leaning in, Revy put her hands on her hips and said "I'm all earsDutchy"

Dutch breathed out one word, "Naruto"

For Revy, time froze, her brain too caught up in thoughts andquestions to stutter out even a full sentence. Naruto? What aboutNaruto? Is he dead? Where is he? Too many question and no answers.Zeroing in on her target Revy grabbed Dutch by his collar and broughthim nose to nose with her. Dutch could've swore he saw fire in hereyes.

"_What. about. Him!?"_

Yep, definitely glad he wore black pants.

Seeking to placate the furious woman before him, Dutch quicklybrought forth his next few sentences like they were his last words,"Our client caught sight of him in the village we're headin' to,however it seems the two aren't on good terms right now." Now, Revywasn't stupid, she had been searching for Naruto for years, even ifit was Dutch telling her this right now, she wanted cold proof thatit was _her _son they had found.

"_And!? How do you know it's my son! So help me Dutch if yo-" _BeforeRevy could start making threats, and acting on them, Dutch quicklypulled out the photo he had been keeping in his pants and pushed itin her face.

Just as she was about to pull out one of her berettas on theunfortunate man in front of her, Revy caught sight of a child shenever thought she would see again. The only goddamn thing on thisplanet that she valued more than her own life. She looked at everytiny detail in the image, even without the whisker marks he would nodoubt be her son. His hair, a slightly lighter shade than hers, wasalso long and held in a ponytail much like hers, and his skin was ahealthy tan that didn't portray much of his asian ancestry, it was abit lighter than that. His eyes were the same shape as hers but thecolor reminded her of his _bastard _father.

A shade so blue you could get lost in them.

Dutch watched a range of emotions slide across Revy's face before itall settled into relief and she slid to the floor. He knew she would

be looking at that photo for a long time. Without saying a word heswiveled his chair back to the controls of the ship and looked outtowards the incoming port of the land of waves.

The walk to Tazuna's house was long and boring for Naruto. No lastname given, just, Naruto. At 12 years old he was considered a prodigyamongst genin and, even though he was easy to irritate, had littleflaws to complain about as a shinobi. Flipping his pony tail backbehind him he observed his surroundings. Sasuke was glaring at him-for what reason he did not know- and Sakura was fawning over Sasuke.Yep, usual old Team 7. Oh, and Kakashi was walking with them, thoughhe was exhausted from the fight with Zabuza. The group's walkcontinued and Naruto couldn't help but frown at the poverty in thevillage. If anything it made his resolve to protect thebridge-builder even stronger, he had grown up without a home or afamily, but at least there was food to steal.

Broken out of his thoughts by almost crashing into Tazuna, Narutorealized they had stopped in front of a decently sized house which heassumed was Tazuna's. One knock later, and the door slid open toreveal a woman that Naruto guessed would have to be in her late 20'sat most judging by appearances. Her eyes lit up when she looked up atTazuna.

"Father! Thank god you're alright!" The old man was nearly crushed bythe hug she gave him, but chuckled nonetheless.

"Well if it weren't for these fine ninja over here I wouldn't be!"Tazuna rasped out while laughing. In response to his statementKakashi eye smiled and scratched the back of his head while Sasukesmirked. Sakura seemed to beam from the praise as well. Naruto, whileglad his team had survived, knew that Zabuza and that hunter ninwould come back sooner or later, and he needed to step up histraining.

The woman peered over her father's shoulder and looked over the ninjabefore letting go of Tazuna and bowing to them.

"Thank you for taking care of my father, I know he can be quite thehandful sometimes-" cue nervous chuckle "-but he is a good man, and Ibelieve his bridge will save the village."

Kakashi eye-smiled again and said modestly "Maa, maa, we're justdoing our job." Smiling in return, Tsunami gestured the shinobi intoher home where she was preparing dinner. On their way inside, Narutocould have sworn he saw a small boy zip up the stairs when theyentered, but brushed it off as exhaustion setting in.

The picture Rock walked into when Dutch called him and Benny overwasn't the most comforting to come across. Walking in, he saw Dutchin his usual attire, and his chair swiveled over to face them. Whatconcerned him was the state of Revy, who was slumped on the floor,looking at what appeared to be a small photograph with misty,half-lidded eyes. He was about to ask, but decided against it whenDutch shook his head. Filing it away for later, Rock lit a cigaretteand leaned against the wall, giving Dutch his signal to explain their

jobs.

Dutch peered over at Revy one last time before speaking up, "Alright,this one's pretty easy, our client, whose name is Gato, controlspretty much anything and everything that goes in and out of thissmall island we're stopped at. We're delivering a shipment of drugshe's having delivered here from Roanapur, that's it, pretty simple ifya ask me." Dutch paused and took another drag from a cigarettebefore starting back up again, "Benny, I want you to stay on theship, think of it as a 'just in case' kinda job." Benny nods and sitsdown on a small crate while Dutch continues, "Rock, you and I aregonna be dealing with Gato and overseeing the delivery process, otherthan that it's a wrap and we'll be getting paid handsomely.Questions, comments, concerns?" Rock raises his hand and Dutch sighs,but nods for Rock to ask anyway.

"Is Revy coming with us, or-"

"Revy will be going around the village, who knows we might gain a fewconnections in the Elemental Nations like the one we're gettin' withGato."

Revy looked up at Dutch with wide eyes, to which he responded with adiscreet nod in her direction.

Rock nearly dropped his cigarette when Revy shot Dutch the mostgenuine smile he's ever seen on her face before, and he wasn't theonly one shocked. Benny fell off his crate and Dutch nearly burnedhis lips with his own lighter. They sat there, frozen, even when Revyhad sprung up from the floor and all but shot out of the lagoon likea bullet.

*cough*

"Alright, Rock, let's get going." Rock only noddednumbly.

Meanwhile, Team 7 can be found in the woods a little ways fromTazuna's house, getting ready to face Zabuza for a second round. Withan audible pop, Kakashi closed his book and looked up at his studentswith a lazy eye.

"Alright class, today you will be completing something called thetree climbing exercise, heard of it?" Seeing Naruto nod, Kakashipoints to him and then a tree beside him. Getting the point, Narutocalmly walks up to the base of the tree and then proceeds to walk upwhile sticking to the trunk. Sakura's eyes were wide with awe, whileSasuke scowled at being weaker than the dobe again.

"Good example, Naruto. This is a chakra control exercise that willneed to become like second nature to you as you continue your careersas ninja." Kakashi then threw 2 kunai at Sakura and Sasuke'sfeet.

"The key is to apply chakra to your feet to stick the surface of thetree, use those kunai as markers to mark your progress." Kakashi then

turns to Naruto once again.

"Have you done water walking as well?" Naruto nods once again andKakashi sighs. "Then it looks like you're coming with me to thevillage." Both shinobi turn to see Sasuke and Sakura's firstattempts. Needless to say it went about as much as Kakashi expected,Sasuke made it up 5 steps before blasting off, while Sakura made itup half-way quite easily. Seeing both genin looking for anexplanation, Kakashi sighed once again.

"Use too much chakra, and you will be blasted off the tree, use toolittle, and your feet won't stick to the surface. Keep at it , me andNaruto are going to the village to gather information, preferably onZabuza or Gato." Sakura nodded, and Sasuke sent a glare at Naruto butgave a small nod anyways. Without another word, the genin and Jouninpair leapt to the trees and towards the village.

Naruto shook his head while trailing Kakashi, seriously what did hedo to deserve Sasuke's ire? That pride of his was going to get him introuble, and by extension, the team. He was going to have to talk toKakashi about this, but not now.

Suddenly, Kakashi stopped and held his hand up. Landing and crouchingnext to his sensei, Naruto looked down only to see a small path witha trail of people carrying what seemed to be large wooden crates. Atthe front was a short chubby man, with purple shades and spiky brownhair. He was dressed in a black suit with a purple undershirt, andholding a black walking cane. Next to him was a bald and rather talland muscular black man. The man was wearing a green vest jacket thatreminded him of the flak jackets in Konoha, and black pants whichwere tucked into his boots. What was strange about him was what hewas holding, it was a tubular object that was angled at differentplaces and seemed to have a trigger on it. Continuing his observationof the group of people, he looked at the end of the line where he sawa person who didn't quite fit in. He was wearing a collared shirtwith a green tie that was tucked into a pair of black slacks. The manwas also wearing a pair of black dress shoes, and seemed to be prettytan and scrawny in appearance, with an average height for hisage.

Kakashi's thoughts, however, were following a slightly differentpath, '_What are westerners doing in Wave?'_

"What do we do Kakashi-sensei?"

Kakashi brought his hands to his chin, on one hand he could kill Gatoand eliminate the threat of Zabuza and save the country, however hisinstincts were telling him to stay away from the foreigners, theywere dangerous. As a shinobi, instincts saved you more often thanconscious thought. He had made his decision.

Kakashi signed to Naruto 'Short man is Gato, but it's too risky totake him out now. Continue to the village and gather what you can onZabuza, I'm going to trail this group here.' With a nod, Narutocontinued his path through the trees, while Kakashi stalked Gato andthe foreigners.

Revy's cheerful run through the village slowly became a depressed

walk as she looked over the state of the people here. This placeseemed poorer than some of the worse off districts of Roanapur.What's worse is that even though she knew Naruto was here, she didn'teven know where to start looking for him, she knew nothing about himor his personality. That thought seemed to make her even moredepressed, in fact it made her so depressed she didn't even realizeshe was walking through the forest until she came across a smallclearing.

"Ahh! What the hell!?" Revy pulled at her hair in frustration. Great,now she's lost and can't find Naruto. Looking around the clearing shefound herself in, Revy spotted what appeared to be a young woman in apink kimono, crouching down in the grass with a basket beside her.'_Might as well start somewhere… right?' _

Revy walked over to the woman, purposely stepping on twigs and weedsto announce her presence.

"E-Excuse me, have you seen this boy around here?" damn that stutterof hers, she still couldn't get used to this 'being nice' shit. Thewoman looked at the photograph Revy was holding up for a second andfroze, which didn't go unnoticed by Revy. The woman looked back up ather and regained her composure while smiling sweetly.

"Yes, I believe he and his friends are staying at Tsunami's housejust a little ways from the center of the village." The woman pointedin the direction she was speaking of.

Revy smiled and rubbed the back of her head, "Thanks! Oh by the waythe name's Revy, in case we ever meet again." Revy was gettingnervous, something had to be wrong with her, she was never thisnice!

"You're certainly welcome Revy-san, my name is Haku Momochi, Ibelieve we will see each other again soon." Haku stated with a smile.Revy nodded and ran back towards the village while waving her handover her shoulder, never knowing who she had really justmet.

Tsunami really didn't know what to think about the ninja's who hadsaved her father from The Demon of the Mist, however she knew shedidn't like one of them for sure. Said person had raven colored hairand seemed to always have a scowl in place. She would reserve herjudgement for now though, maybe there was more to the boy than shethought.

Broken from her thoughts by knocking at her door, she dried off herhands and walked to the entrance of the house….

"So you're lookin' for connections in the elemental nations yes…?"Gato drawled out. Currently he was reclined in his throne, walkingcane in hand and facing his guests, The Lagoon Company. The Japaneseman nodded and said, "Yes, we're afraid that with all the separateturfs running around in Roanapur, that we might need what you wouldcall a safety net to fall back on, just in case things go south."Gato grunted in acknowledgment and seemed to think over his options

for a moment.

"Well, your company did a fine job in escorting my wears, fast andefficient is how I like doing business." Gato continued to mumble tohimself a bit before slamming his cane down.

"Very well, if I ever need something moved I'll come straight to youfirst, no questions asked.". The Japanese man nodded with a pleasedexpression.

"Thankyou for your consideration, we are sure you won't regret it.Will there be anything else you need from us today?" Gato shook hishead and dismissed the pair from Lagoon. With a nod, their businessin Wave was done, and Dutch hoped that Revy was getting close tofinding Naruto soon, lest they lose such an importantclient.

With the foreigners gone Kakashi knew this was his chance to ridhimself and his genin of a C rank turned A rank mission.

With a flick of his wrist a kunai shot from his hands towards hisunfortunate victim. A sickening 'shlick' rang throughout the roombefore Gato fell down, dead. He didn't even get to taste his newlyimported wine.

Kakashi sunshined out of the room and back out to the village to findNaruto and spread the good news, no more blood would be shed and thelives of his students could have been saved from hisdecision.

With Naruto, information gathering was easier said than done, anymoney he had was spent on bribing villagers to talk and most of whatthey said was either a scam or a dead end. He was just about to walkinto a flower shop when a hand landed on his shoulder.

Turning around, he came face to face with a smiling young woman in apink kimono. The last thought he had before his world turned blackwas _'pretty…'_

2. Reunion

Chapter 2: Reunion

"So tell me Revy-san, how do you know Naruto?" Tsunami asked. Bothwomen were seated in the dining room, a cup of tea in both hands.Although Revy was awkwardly holding hers, while Tsunami was thepicture of a perfect housewife.

"Heh-he…. Well… you wouldn't believe me if I told you the wholesto-"

"Trust me Revy-san, the elemental nations is exposed to many strangeevents, so no matter what story you tell I probably have a strangerone." cutoff Tsunami. In a world where people walked on watereveryday, there's bound to be plenty of mythical, but real,tales.

Revy looked down at her tea cup for a second, a solemn look reachingher eyes, "I'm… his mother…" Tsunami looked up from her seat onthe floor, a small frown marring her features.

"I don't mean to pry… but are you two not on good terms?" Tsunamiwas genuinely curious, the plum haired boy had never mentioned hismother… actually he hadn't spoken much at all as far as she couldremember. She was not too shocked to hear that she was his mother,the two looked quite similar. If anything she was jealous, sure shehad retained her natural beauty somewhat, but even _her _body seemedto deteriorate from having Inari, yet Revy had a killer figure, oneyou would never had expected to go through pregnancy.

The widowed housewife coughed to hide her fangs.

Revy slammed her hands on the table, "NO! I- I'm sorry, it's notthat. The truth is… I have never even met him." Tsunami's eyeswidened in shock, "I have been searching for him ever since he wasborn, there isn't a thing I wouldn't do just to see him once.. Youunderstand… right?"

Tsunami gave Revy a sympathetic smile, now she understood why thewoman was so hesitant to tell her. Of course she understood, shecouldn't imagine a day without seeing Inari, but not getting to holdyour son once since his birth, but still knowing he was alivesomewhere? That's torture on an emotional level. The housewife cuppedone of her hands over Revy's.

"You poor thing, I couldn't even begin to imagine how that feels…"Revy looked down, watching through blurry eyes as her tears fell inher tea. "But now the search is over, you can relax Revy-san, youwill see him again."

For the first time in years, Revy allowed herself to cry.

Dutch knew it would come to this, he had been getting the chills eversince they entered Gato's fort, and now he knew his old war-timeinstincts were right. Now he had to find a new connection in theelemental nations while placating Rock's curiosity about

Revy.

'_Fuck my life'_ was all he could think.

The two were now walking back to the Lagoon to update Benny on whathappened and then hopefully decide on what to do next. They could gofurther into the Elemental Nations, there wasn't much he reallyneeded to do in Roanapur that couldn't wait, and Rock wasn'thalf-lying when he stated that they needed a safety-net to fall backon. Perhaps they should make their way to the 'hidden' village ofKonoha?

Meanwhile Rock was confused, '_I have never seen her that happybefore, not even when she beat me in a drinking match…' _Thejapanese businessman would be lying to himself if he said that hedidn't have a crush on Revy. The woman was hot and had a personalitythat he just couldn't help but be attracted to. No matter how much hetried, for all his smarts Rock couldn't figure out what would makethe woman practically leap for joy like that, he knew Dutch knew, ifthe way he nodded towards her was anything to go by.

"Dutch…. Would Revy's job have anything to do with what she was sohappy about?"

There it was. It was only a matter of time before he asked and Dutch,all things considered, was pretty lucky that he had managed to stallfor so long. Now he had to play 20 questions with theJap.

Nonetheless, he took out his cigarette and stomped into the ground,"Yes, however that's all I can say, she'll tell you if she wants to,understood?" Rock was smart enough, and understood the hidden threatbehind his words, '_Don't work your way into something that's none ofyour business'_

With that thought he looked forward and tried to continue his 'job'like a professional. It was pretty easy to forget that Dutch was hisboss, and not a good friend you could hang out with and relyon.

When Rock shut his trap and just kept walking, Dutch nearly wanted tokneel down and kiss the Earth, but he settled for something a littleless extreme.

At first the only thing Naruto knew was that it was dark. Then,finally, he realized WHY it was so dark in the first place.

He was blindfolded.

'_And I call myself a prodigy amongst genin'_

Honestly he should have been expecting this. You don't just go outand collect information on a missing nin all willy nilly like he did,and now he was paying the consequences.

'_But if I was going to die then I wouldn't mind it being at the

hands of that pretty woman I saw…'_

No! Bad Naruto! Find out what your situation is and _then _give up.Hands tied behind his back? Check. Legs tied against what seems to bea chair he's sitting on? Check. Naruto had to give them credit whereit was due, they really bound him up good, but not good enough.

The first mistake they made was tying up his hands together insteadof separately, so he could still do hand signs for making a clone orsubstitute himself for a log. So the silver lining of his currentpredicament was that he had an escape route.

Suddenly, the blindfold placed on him was removed and a bright lightinvaded his eyes immediately, some people really underestimate howmuch that hurts. Looking around, he noticed that he was in some kindof cellar, and he wasn't too surprised to spot the familiar pinkkimono being worn by the hunter-nin who had supposedly 'killed'Zabuza.

"Welcome back to the land of the living, Gaki," a rough voice spokebehind him. Naruto recognized that it was Zabuza's voice, and heseemed to be pretty pleased with himself if his tone was anything togo by. No matter how much pride Naruto had in himself, he couldn'tunderstand what Zabuza had to gain from kidnapping him, or worse,torturing him.

An involuntary shudder went down his spine.

"Nice to see you too, Zabuza, how's that arm of yours doing?" Hereally shouldn't provoke enemies when they have the upper hand, buthe was still sarcastic by nature, and rubbing salt into his woundcaused by a mere genin was the perfect way to get underneath Zabuza'sskin.

A prickly sensation was at his throat in an instant, and the voicebehind him was suddenly coated in killing intent, "I wouldn't messwith me right now Gaki, especially when you're the one stuck in achair." What was probably a kunai was removed from his throat, andNaruto watched from the corner of his eye as Zabuza walked around thechair until he was facing him.

"In case you're wondering, it was Haku's idea to kidnap you, notmine. I'm sure even a brat like would understand why I wouldn't wantto actually execute his plan," Zabuza gestured towards Haku whoremoved her mask, "but it seems she came across some interestinginformation while I was recovering."

Haku looked to Zabuza for a second, to which he nodded and she beganto speak, "Did you know someone was looking for you, Naruto-kun?"Said plum haired genin came up with a million ways to sarcasticallyreply to her question, such as '_what's with the -kun suffix?' _or'_no shit someone's probably looking for me right now,' _but hesettled for the answer that wouldn't kill himimmediately.

"No"

Again, the irritatingly sweet smile plastered itself onto her faceand she commented, "She looked a lot like you…" this threw him offguard, not many people in Konoha looked like him, and not many of

those people were women. The only person that came to mind was Anko,but he was pretty sure she was on a mission last time he checked.Then there was Yugao, the purple haired Anbu captain, but shewouldn't be sent out as backup for this kind of mission either. Hereally was stumped on who this 'mystery figure' was.

"Judging by the look on your face you probably don't know her…"Haku looked up, her eyes fixating on the past, "you and her looked somuch alike I thought she might be your mother or sister."

No matter how much he wished for it, Naruto knew that wasimpossible.

"Sorry to disappoint you guys but, I'm an only child, and both myparents died in the Kyuubi's attack on Konoha," responded Naruto.Haku frowned and her eyes showed pity for a quick moment before theywent back to calculating indifference. Apparently her 'interrogation'was done, since she nodded back to Zabuza, who let out a grunt offrustration.

Zabuza was really disappointed, he was unemployed and now he didn'thave a ransom to fall back on… he couldn't really blame Hakuthough. Living on the run, going from job to job, it really got toyou after awhile.

The Demon of the Mist sighed, "Let 'im go Haku, he's not useful to usanymore,"

Naruto was confused, why were they letting him go? As far as he wasconcerned they were still enemies who were trying to kill Tazuna.

As Haku untied the ropes that bound him he asked, "Why are youletting me go? Aren't you still after Tazuna?"

Zabuza shook his head, "Our employer, Gato, was killed, there's noreason for us to stay in Wave anymore." Naruto's eyes widened indisbelief.

'_Did Kakashi-sensei kill him? No, forget that, this means that Ijust completed my first A rank mission as a genin!'_

Needless to say, both Haku and Zabuza were confused when Narutojumped up from his chair and pumped his fist upwards towards thesky.

Just as they were about to leave, Naruto stopped them, "What are youguys going to do now?"

The missing nin paused, "What we have always done, find another job,"and with that he stepped out of the door, not even looking back tothe puzzled genin.

Sasuke and Sakura were both physically and mentally fatigued, neitherwanting nothing more than to just crash on their futons from the daysworth of training. Sasuke was frustrated, he couldn't get evenhalfway up the tree yet while Sakura had started up on thewater-walking exercise, and was getting pretty good at it too. Foronce he was the one who was behind in the team, and he was

pissed.

The two slid the door to Tsunami's house open, and walked in.Laughter from the dining room alerted them to an unknown guest in thehouse.

Sakura went upstairs to her room while Sasuke decided to find out whoelse was in the house at the time. The Uchiha was surprised when hesaw a woman who looked almost exactly like Naruto, heck her hair wasalso in a ponytail!

"Ah, Sasuke-san, please sit down, dinner's almost ready,"

He nodded and sat across from the woman, choosing to ignore her fornow unless she needed something from him.

Which was usually how he interacted with just about everybody.

Revy raised an eyebrow at the blatant dismissal of her existence.Sure, she didn't say anything to him, but he could at least greether.

"Hey kid," the brooding Uchiha looked up, "are you always this muchof an ass to people you've just met?"

Sasuke sucked in a sharp breath, her attitude reminded him of Narutotoo. Blunt and sarcastic. Choosing to give her a taste of her ownmedicine, he replied, "No… just people who remind me of Naruto…"Revy's eyes widened just a bit, before she grinned ferally at him.She knew nothing about her son, so it's about time she learnedsomething about him.

Leaning in she began her interrogation, "Hoo~ And what about mereminds you of this Naruto?" Inwardly she was jumping for joy thather son got more from her than just her looks.

Why not tell her? He was bored and waiting for dinner, and he mightas well find some way to pass the time. He also needed to find a wayto keep his eyes off her figure.

"You're blunt and sarcastic, just like him, if I didn't know anybetter I would say you two are related." Damn right they were.

Now that she thought about it, what did her son do? Were thereschool's in the Elemental Nations?

"So.. what… are you two classmates or something?"

Sasuke narrowed his eyes, didn't she see the headband on hisforehead? The only people who didn't know about ninja headbands werefrom the west, and she wasn't exactly dressed in the usual attireworn in the Elemental Nations, so that could be the case.

"I guess you could say we were classmates in the Academy, now we'reon the same Jounin led team." Okay, still confused about what Jouninmeant, but at least there was some form of education here… not thatshe really cared.

Before she could ask, Tsunami answered while coming into the room, anassortment of plates in her arms, "The Ninja Academy, correct

Sasuke-san?" Sasuke nodded and Revy's eyebrow raised.

"Ninja? You mean the dudes who dress in all black and throw shurikenand stuff?"

Tsunami spread the plates out on the table and answered, "Somethinglike that, but they don't always wear all black. The Ninja are theElemental Nations' form of military."

Revy's eyes widened and she took a good look at Sasuke again, "Theytrain children in the military?" She didn't know how to feel abouther son being involved in combat situations at the age of 12, but shewas no stranger to child soldiers. Sasuke's eyebrow's twitched a bitat being called a kid but remained silent.

Tsunami continued, "The age at which they start training varies fromnation to nation, along with what exactly they're taught. Somefamilies have their children start as young as the age of 4."Seriously? At 4 years old you could still be considered a toddler yetthese guys were being trained earlier than most of the child soldiersshe had met.

"When did you and Naruto start, Sasuke?" Revy asked, there was onlyone reason to start a country's military out so young, and that was ahigh death-rate.

The genin put his chopsticks down and answered, "I started out athome when I was 4," Sasuke then scowled, "but I wouldn't be surprisedif Naruto started training around 4 or 5 either."

Apparently, Sasuke didn't like that little fact, so Revy asked, "Andwhy's that?"

"He's considered a prodigy amongst the genin of our year," Revychoked a bit on her food, "In our military there are 3 main ranks,Genin, Chuunin, and Jounin. Jounin are considered the strongest,genin the weakest." So far so good, the system was a lot simplercompared the U.S. army ranks at least. Sasuke spat out, "Naruto'sranked as Genin but he's probably around Chuunin level."

Now it made sense, Sasuke was jealous, that's all there was to it.Still, she couldn't help but feel a little proud that her kid was sosmart, she could only imagine what the brat would be like with agun.

The door to the dining room slid open and everyone looked up to seeKakashi Hatake, seemingly tired and wearing a worried expression onhis face.

"Some guy killed our client!?" Benny asked, or more like shouted.Dutch picked at his ear for a moment before nodding.

"I would be freaking out too, if it wasn't for the fact that healready paid us. The problem we have now is that we've lost ourconnection here, and we need to find another one."

Benny sighed and nodded, looking out over the waves pushing againstthe shore he asked, "When do you expect Revy to be back?" Dutch

cursed underneath his breath while Rock's attention to theconversation skyrocketed.

"If I had to guess, anywhere from tonight to noon tomorrow, anylonger and we won't get back to Roanapur in time."

Benny hummed and then looked back up at Dutch, "What's she doinganyways?"

The man in question pushed up his shades and answered, "As far as I'mallowed to tell, she's working on Personal Business." Benny filedDutch's tight lips for later and went back inside the Lagoon.

Rock narrowed his eyes and thought '_What are you hidingDutch….'_

"Where's the dobe at?"

Yeah, definitely jealous.

"Before we get to that, I have news." By this time Sakura had comeback downstairs and Tazuna would be home any minute.

Kakashi eye-smiled and announced, "Gato's dead." The sentence createdvarious reactions, but none so big such as Revy's.

"Our clients dead!?"

In the lagoon, Benny sneezed.

Everybody looked at Revy with wide eyes, Kakashi pulled out a kunaiand put it at her throat, "What do you mean by _client?_" The womangrowled and put her gun to Kakashi's chin.

"Don't fuck with me cyclops, I'm in a shitty mood right now!" Thescene was tense, and while Sasuke and Sakura were stunned with thesudden change in atmosphere, the 'cyclops' was wondering what shecould do to him with a blunt stick of metal.

The sound of wood shifting open caught everybody's attention onceagain.

Revy looked over, causing her breath to hitch while absentmindedlydropping her gun to the floor, which made Kakashi to pocket hiskunai. Standing in the doorway, was Tazuna and Naruto, Tazuna lookedsweaty from working, but nonetheless looked fine. Naruto had a fewcuts and bruises on his arms and face, however he didn't show anypain from the wounds.

Tsunami sat down and watched the oncoming scene with a smallsmile.

Naruto scratched the back of his head and said, "Geez, if you weregonna eat dinner you could've at least waited for m-" Whatever was

about to be said was cut off by an air depriving hug. Revy didn'twaste a moment, the moment those eyes locked on hers she bolted andtook hold of him. When she woke up all those years ago without him inher arms she thought she'd lost him forever.

If she had any say in it, Naruto would stay in her arms forever,after all there was a ton of time to makeup for. Revy sank to herknees, pulling Naruto with her.

The plum genin was confused, but at the same time felt relaxed aswell. The only people he had ever hugged in his life were Anko, andIruka, the only ones who didn't look at him like a monster. Thechange in pace was welcome, but he needed answers too.

"Excuse me miss…"

Naruto sweatdropped when she just hugged him tighter and didn'trespond. Looking over her shoulder, he raised an eyebrow when he sawthat Kakashi looked like he had seen a ghost.

"Who are you?"

Revy rested her chin on his head and replied, "I'm yourmom"

Chapter 3: Welcome!

Beams of light shot through the small porthole that was Dutch's cabinin the lagoon. The man shuffled around in annoyance before he finallysat up and yawned loudly. Scratching his chin a bit, he checked theclock and found it to be…

'_Way too early for this shit'_

Nothing a morning cig couldn't fix.

As he sat there, contemplating his plans for the day, his thoughtswent back to Revy, and how hopefully, she had found her son. Thenthere was the matter of what she would do if she did find him…Would she stay here? Or would she bring him with her toRoanapur?

'_Tch, that place would be hell with two Revy's…' _

Getting out of bed he bumped around a bit before finding thedoor.

Today's gonna be a long day….

Plum colored hair could be found sprawled out over the covers ofNaruto's bed, some hairs had a lighter shade than others, indicatingthat there was 2 people occupying it. Revy opened her eyes groggily,her brain processing what had happened the night before…

'_Aww shit, did I…?'_

Her thoughts were put to rest when she realized _who _it was she hadbeen sleeping with. Naruto was resting peacefully against herstomach, it was pretty funny how short he was for his age, that andRevy had pretty long legs.

'_Meh, he's got a good 6 years before I have to start worrying aboutit'_

The mass killer ran her hands through his hair, her thoughts goingdown a similar path to Dutch's own.

'_What now?'_

A knock to the door kept her from thinking any further, it openedjust a crack, allowing Tsunami's head to poke through.

The housewife smiled at the scene while whispering, "_When you'reready, Kakashi-san would like to talk to you two."_

Revy responded by grunting and the door shut closed just a secondlater. She looked back down at Naruto and smirked a bit.

'_Eda's gonna have a fuckin' cow'_

Kakashi looked over everybody gathered in the dining room with whatseemed like a lazy eye.

Naturally, Naruto and Revy sat pretty close together, while Sakuraand Sasuke were eyeing Revy with both interest and suspicion. Ofcourse this had to happen when they had just finished a mission, andthere wasn't a doubt in his mind that Naruto would go wherever Revywent.

He would to if he found out his dead mother was actually stillalive.

As usual, he hid all of this introspection behind a fakeeye-smile.

With a clap he began his speech, "Well, I'll be honest and state thatthis mission gave us a lot more than I thought it would-" he wasinterrupted by two coughs and a mumbling of 'no shit' before he

continued, "-however I would just like to say, that this mission hasbeen a success, and I'm proud of each and every one of you.

Sasuke smirked, Sakura grinned, and Naruto reflected on what he wasgoing to do, sure he didn't necessarily hate the village, but Revywas his mother, the last relative he had that was still alive, andgave birth to him. On the other hand he could go back to the hatefulglares sent his way by the village….

Did he really need to even think about it?

"Other than that, I also wanted to announce that we will be departingfor Konoha after lunch, until then you can do anything you want.Revy-san, Naruto, please stay." Sakura and Sasuke got up and left,though Naruto was sure they would find some way to eavesdrop on theconversation.

Revy leaned back on her hands, a smirk playing at her lips, "Sooocyclops, I'm guessin' this has to do with who has custody ofNaruto?"

Kakashi nodded, "Yes, I'll be honest with you, if Naruto didn't havethe Kyuubi sealed in him then I could probably let him go with you,but that isn't the case, we'll need to get the Hokage's permissionsince he is a very dangerous asset, even among otherJinchuuriki."

Revy grit her teeth and glared at Kakashi, who started to sweat abit.

"So whatcha sayin' is-"

"Yes, you must come with us to Konoha if you want a chance at keepingyour son."

If a human could growl, Revy did.

"_Fine."_

Kakashi sighed in relief.

"But I need to introduce him to some friends of mine first, they'vebeen waiting for almost 2 days now."

Kakashi pulled out his favorite orange book and asked, "Are thesethose westerners I saw talking with Gato?" at her confirmation hesaid, "It's fine with me as long as he's back here to leave forKonoha by noon."

As soon as he finished Revy grabbed Naruto's hand and ran out thedoor, Dutch was gonna be in a good mood today for sure!

All the members of Lagoon Company except for one, potentially two,were on top of the Lagoon, one waiting impatiently while the otherswere still trying to wake up.

Nothin' says good morning like a gunshot whizzing by your head.

The group snapped their heads to the left, where they saw Revyholding a smoking gun, and what appeared to be a male mini-me ofher.

The kid was cupping his ears and glaring at Revy who snickered andruffled his hair affectionately.

"I love you Revy, but that hurt like a bitch, ya know?". Naruto andRevy had an odd mother/son relationship. Naruto had been taking careof himself ever since he could make memories, so it felt weird tosuddenly have a mom and call her that too. Thus the two were on firstname basis. Sure, Revy was a bit disheartened by his choice, butcould respect it seeing as how she had lived a life like his.

Plus being called mom made her feel old.

Dutch approached the two first, his speculative gaze focused onNaruto.

'_Well I'll be damned, he's basically a Male Revy. My prayers go outto the poor sons of bitches who meet these two…'_

"I'm guessing this is your boy?"

Revy snickered and grabbed Naruto into a headlock, where she thenproceeded to peck him on the cheek.

"Sure is! Ain't he a keeper?"

"Hey! I'm not some stray you picked up off the streets!" Naruto'sshouts and protests fell on deaf ears, Revy continued to wrestle himwhile Dutch watched on.

'_I have never seen her so happy before… It just 'bout brings atear to this old veterans eye..'_

Dutch chuckled a bit before approaching Naruto, who froze and lookedup at him.

The bulky man held out his hand in front of Naruto's face, "Thename's Dutch, owner of lagoon company, and if you want, your futureboss as well."

Naruto nodded and shook Dutch's hand. The man took note of the boy'sfirm grip and grinned.

'_Good to know he's not intimidated by me…'_

When Dutch let go he looked back to Revy while asking, "What's yourplan for Rock and Benny?" The two men hadn't come forward yet out ofrespect for Dutch, but Rock looked kinda antsy… and a tad annoyedtoo.

Revy looked behind Dutch's shoulder and noticed the pacing Rock, andlaid-back Benny.

"I'll explain it to them when I get back from Konoha"

Dutch raised an eyebrow, "Are you lea-"

"You know me Dutch, I could never leave lagoon… what'd you dowithout me?"

"Heh-heh, I s'ppose you're righf on that one Two Hands, but if that'sthe case then what's goin' on?"

Revy scowled and crossed her arms, "The assholes won't let us leavein peace unless we get it cleared with their leader that I can takehim" Revy jabs a thumb towards Naruto at the end of herexplanation.

Again, Dutch raised an eyebrow, usually if Revy wanted somethingshe'd just shoot the fucker who tried to stop her. Either thesepeople were a threat, or Revy was scared of losing Naruto again frommaking the wrong choice. Or both.

"What's stoppin' you from shooting 'em and leaving rightnow?"

Instead of Revy, it was Naruto who replied, "Kakashi-sensei iswatching us right now, I'm guessing if I tried to step on that boat,he would kill you and take me back."

This threw the intimidating negro through a loop. Apparently, Narutowas important enough that it was worth killing 4 people, one of thembeing his own mother, to take him back. Second, he couldn't seeanybody stalking the pair, so that meant Konoha was one of these'Ninja' Villages he'd been hearing about.

'_Great… just fuckin' great..'_

Revy gave her boss an apologetic look who just waved it off.Honestly, this wasn't the shittiest situation Revy had ever gottenhim into, and it wouldn't be the last…

"Well… would your little group mind some company? With Gato gone,we're gonna need another client here in the Elemental Nations, andKonoha sounds like an opportunity."

A small gust wind passed by between the group of people beforeKakashi appeared in front of them, nearly giving Revy a heartattack.

The legendary copy-nin was carrying his typical orange book whileanswering in a low drawl, "… I'm sure the Hokage will want toestablish a few connections with the west as well…"

Dutch nodded and added, "Just make sure none of your guys tell thosetwo over there what Revy is to Naruto, that's herresponsibility."

Kakashi closed his book and looked up, "Understood," and with hispiece said, disappeared just as quickly as he had appeared.

Revy looked back towards Naruto and grunted, "Is he always likethat?"

"Yes…," he deadpanned.

Team Seven minus Naruto could be seen standing in front of thevillages 'seeing off' party for them. Tazuna stepped forward, smilingwidely at them.

"There are no word to express how grateful I am of you and your teamKakashi…"

Kakashi tried to modestly wave off the gratitude, but Tazuna wasn'thaving any of it.

"In honor of what you've done for us, the town has decided to namethe bridge after your group." Tazuna smirked when he saw thegobsmacked expressions on Team 7's faces.

Tsunami stepped forward next, "It might be a tad unoriginal," cuenervous chuckle from Tazuna, "but it will be name 'The Great Bridgeof 7'"

After she finished, the villagers behind her cheered loudly,applauding the people who freed them from poverty and oppression.Kakashi didn't know what to say, he was grateful for sure, but he hadnever had a bridge named after him before.

"Well I'll be damned, I think I can see cyclops blushing…." A voicerang out from behind the villagers, immediately making Kakashi's mooddampen.

What sounded like a man's voice chuckled and responded, "It's noteveryday you become known as a hero is it Revy? Cut 'im someslack.."

The crowd parted and revealed the small group that was LagoonCompany. In the middle, leading them, was Dutch, holding hissignature shotgun with a blank expression on his face.

To his left was Revy, decked out in her usual attire, and smuglygrinning at the scene in front of her. Naruto was at her left, andseemed to be a bit surprised as well at the announcement of thebridge's name.

On Dutch's right were Rock and Benny respectively. Rock seemed to beexamining Naruto's every feature, while Benny was looking at theother people he would be travelling with.

Kakashi coughed, attempting to hide his twitching eyebrow, "Thankyouvery much Tazuna, I will come back sometime, hopefully next time thislittle island country will be prosperous, ne?" The bridge-buildergrinned and shook Kakashi's hand one last time before facing thecrowd.

"Alright you pests! There's nothin ' to see here! Go home andcelebrate with your families!" he shouted with a sarcastic tone.

The crowd cheered once more before dispersing, each spreading thelegend that was Team 7. With one final goodbye, Tazuna and Tsunamileft Team 7 and Lagoon Company by themselves. Tsunami personallywished good luck to Revy, the two had developed a bond only a mothercould understand.

When things had finally calmed down, Dutch casually leaned hisshotgun on his shoulder and decided to start upintroductions.

"Well, I'm guessing you two," he pointed to Sasuke and Sakura, "haveheard that we're going to be travelling with you to Konoha," Dutchpaused to let the information sink in before starting up again, "Iknow you may not like us too much because of our work with Gato, butit's just the way our company operates, in order to make a living andput food on the table, we ship anything anywhere, for the right priceof course."

"So formally, my name is Dutch, owner of Lagoon Company," he statedwhile pointing to himself.

"You guys already know little 'ol me, but just in case you forgot,the names Revy."

Dutch then pointed to the last two members of his group, "Now, now,don't be shy you two, they won't bite… maybe…" Kakashi's eyebrowtwitched a bit more, but he kept eye-smiling anyways.

Rock held out his hand for Kakashi who shook it, and then turnedtowards the two genin by his side, "I'm Rokuro Okujiima, nice to meetyou." he stated in a polite voice.

The techy of the ship didn't bother shaking hands with Kakashi,instead he settled for an introduction that best fit hispersonality.

"Name's Benny, if you need help with anything computer related, I'mthe man to go to"

All of the ninja simultaneously turned to him and asked, "What's acomputer?"

Revy nearly fell on her ass laughing at Benny's mortifiedexpression.

The trip to Konoha was longer than usual, thanks to the awkwardsilence that had fallen between the two groups. Of course that didn'tmean some conversation didn't take place. Naturally, Revy and Narutoseemed to talk about everything and anything, while Kakashi explainedto Dutch about the villages, their purpose, and the basics of theninja system.

All the while, Rock watched Revy's interactions with Naruto closely.If he had to describe how he felt, he would say jealous. He could seethe way her features softened when she laid eyes on him. He guessedthat it was probably because of the fact that Naruto looked and acteda lot like her.

Oh Rock, if only you knew.

Eventually, Team 7 with Lagoon Company in tow, reached the giantgates of Konoha. Dutch whistled at the sight, whereas Revy folded herarms and scoffed.

After checking in with the eternal Chuunin, Izumo and Kotetsu, thegroup continued down the main street of Konohauntil…

"Gaki!"

Everybody looked up and Naruto groaned. Standing on top of abuilding's roof was one Anko Mitarashi. She grinned a little beforejumping down next to Naruto.

The Special Jounin grabbed Naruto by the shoulders and smirked, "Isee you just got back from your first C rank, congrats, you probablywon't get another one for a few months." She chuckled when his facewent pale at the mention of doing more D-ranked missions.

They were the bane of every ninja.

Anko was snapped out of her reverie by a tap to the shoulder.

"Wha-" she paused when she saw what appeared to be the long lostsister of Naruto. The kunoichi didn't notice the annoyed expressionon Revy's face.

"Are ya deaf or somethin'!" Revy shouted at the still stunned woman,"I said, whaddya want, we have places to be!" Anko's face contortedinto a cheshire cat grin, she then proceeded to sling one of her armsaround Naruto's neck. Revy narrowed her eyes a bit.

Seeing the reaction she was aiming for, Anko used her hold to pushNaruto's face into her assets a bit more, "I'm sorry dear, justwanted to catch up with my man was all."

If it was possible, Naruto turned paler than Orochimaru.

Dutch took a step back from Revy.

"NO WAY IN HELL IS MY SON GO-" Revy quickly slapped her hands overher mouth, but the damage had already been done.

Anko's dango stick fell out of her mouth, the sound it madeequivalent to a pin hitting a wood floor. Revy slowly turned her headback to see Dutch cursing o himself while rubbing his temples, Bennyhad his jaw on the ground while Rock…

Rock had fainted…

A sudden mass of KI (killing intent) made Revy snap her head back toAnko, whose hair was shadowing her eyes…

"_You bitch…" _

The Chinese-American cupped a hand around her ear and leanedforward.

"What?"

Anko snapped her head upwards, she scowled deeply and shouted, "WHERETHE FUCK WERE YOU!?" Revy took a few steps backwards from the suddenchange in volume.

"Jesus Christ lady, what the fuck?"

The pissed off woman stomped forwards and raised Revy by the front ofher black tank top.

"WHEN NARUTO WAS BEING BEATEN BY MOBS! BARELY GETTING ANY FOOD ATALL!" Tears started following down Anko's face…. "Where were youthen!?"

The sudden input about how Naruto's life had really been made Revy'sface fall down in shame.

He'd never said anything about mobs…

"I'm sorry…"

"YOU'RE SORRY!?" the two were almost nose to nose now, "SORRY DOE-" astrong grip on her wrist made Anko look back to a Naruto, who wasshaking his head.

"Why are you defending her?!"

Naruto gripped the woman's wrist a little harder and stated "Shedidn't know where I was… she's been looking for me ever since shewoke up and found out I was gone…"

Revy falled down to the ground in a heap, Anko's hold on her nowreleased. The kunoichi spat at the ground next to her before leapingoff, obviously distressed on what to think. Naruto watched her asecond before turning back to his mother, who had brought her legs toher chest and was staring lifelessly at the ground.

The new information about the genin's struggles was an eye opener tothe rest if the group, with a sad tone in his voice, Dutch toldNaruto, "Kid, take care of Revy, let your teacher and his team takeus to the Hokage.."

Naruto reluctantly nodded.

When the split up group had finally left, (with Rock slung overDutch's shoulder) Naruto did the only thing he could think of, andhugged his distressed mother.

Chapter 4: Permission to Live

The small demand echoed throughout the bedroom of Naruto's apartment.It was a modest living space but a living space nonetheless. At leastthat's how Naruto felt about it.

Now, Naruto wasn't ashamed of his scars, for him they were likehaving wisdom at an old age, they demonstrated the physical trialsyou've gone through in life. Whereas wisdom showed the emotionaltrials you've been through. However, he wasn't about to show them offeither, the marred patches of skin didn't need that kind ofattention.

"Why?"

Revy grit her teeth in annoyance, "Just do it" Despite his effort notto, Naruto gave in and seated himself next to her position on hisbed. The black fabric that clung to him like a second skin slowlycame off. As a ninja, one needed stealth and speed, so spandex andtight fitted clothing was more preferred in their line of work.Though only a few, such as the Anbu and Naruto, actually followedthat advice.

Halfway through Revy reached forward and touched a portion of a scar.In the middle of his stomach, was a series of scars that if connectedtogether with a marker would form a perfect circle.

No doubt from a broken bottle.

Naruto paused before continuing his action. When the shirt stoppedobscuring his vision, he could see and feel Revy tracing every scaron his body.

For Revy, it was an eye opening experience. Her boy, a being that byunwritten rules she was sworn to protect, had more scars than ahardened soldier like Balalaika.

After a few moments of tense silence, Revy spoke up, "You're notstaying here anymore, not if I have anything to say about it."

><p>Wisps of smoke floated in the air, originating from an old woodpipe. Said pipe could be found fitting snuggly in old wrinkled handsthat showed the wear and tear of many battles throughtime.<p>

Sarutobi sighed, he really did want to retire again. Will of Fire ornot, the simple fact was that he was too old for this job. His memoryfailed him a lot nowadays, and every movement he made seemed tocreate a groan of protest from his ageing body.

"Maki!" the aged Hokage shouted, moments later a young officeassistant opened the door to his office.

"Hai? Hokage-sama?"

Sarutobi took another drag from his pipe before commanding, "Bring meKushina Uzumaki, this matter involves her." The assistant bowedpolitely and left.

"Who's this Kushina chick?" asked Dutch, who was leaning backcasually in a leather chair.

The Third Hokage slightly frowned at Dutch's informal tone andanswered, "She was the container of the Kyuubi before Naruto, and has

been teaching Naruto how to control his power."

Even though Dutch wasn't an expert in things related to giant tailedbeasts, he still didn't understand why the kid's teacher had to bebrought into this.

Or why the old man hadn't asked his assistant to bring Naruto andRevy here as well.

Another 30 minutes of silence followed, before Kushina finally walkedthrough the doors, a small hop in her step.

"You asked for me Jiji?

Sarutobi chuckled a bit at her nickname for him. Kushina was alwaysquite the character, and her personality more than made up for hernickname, 'The Red Hot Habanero'

"I will get straight to the point, Kushina, Naruto has found hismother"

The red head narrowed her eyes, "I'm guessing you're asking mewhether I would be willing to relinquish custody?"

Dutch's eyes nearly bulged out of his sockets, _this _was the womanwho had custody of Naruto? Not the village or it's leader? Wasn'tNaruto part of the military?

"Excuse me, but since Naruto is in the military, wouldn't themilitary have custody of him?"

The Hokage nodded and replied, "True, but if Naruto wishes to leavethe village, then we must also discharge him, making him an underagecivilian," an imperceptible smirk appeared on the old man's face,"And as a civilian, Kushina would have custody of Naruto."

So that's how it was. The village wasn't just about to lose a goodsoldier, so they would play semantics with their laws, until they gotwhat they wanted. Still, this plan relied on Kushina's answer.

"Your choice, Kushina?"

Her face shifted into a hardened gaze as she shook her head, "No, Ideny his mother's request for custody of Naruto.". The answer boreinto Dutch's mind like a drill.

'_She hasn't even met Revy, or asked Naruto if he would like toleave…'_

Dutch leaned forwards and asked, "Doesn't Naruto get a say inthis?"

"Naruto is Konoha's Jinchuuriki, his staying in the village's handskeeps other nations from lashing out at us, simply, he is tooimportant of an asset."

The negro clenched his fists and nodded.

'_They probably wouldn't let him go until he dies of old age or theyfind a new container… whichever one comes first…"_

Realizing he would be getting nowhere with negotiations, Dutchdecided to go with plan B.

'_Kick ass and take names'_

"Thank you for your consideration, Lord Hokage, I will tell Revy andNaruto what has been decided," Dutch stated, and barely giving theleader any time to reply, promptly stormed out of the office.

><p>Revy watched Naruto sort out his weapons with an interested gaze.The more she watched, the more he reminded her of Shenhua with thosefuckin' knives.<p>

Goddamn she hated that bitch.

"How good are you with this things?" she asked in a vain attempt tomake conversation. They'd been waiting for Dutch to contact them forawhile, and the boredom was reaching new peaks of hatred and loathingfor Naruto's apartment.

The prodigy glanced up for a brief second, a moment later Revy foundthe wall around her pinned with shuriken.

"What the hell?!" she screamed, her expression getting even moreirritated when he grinned at her.

"About as good as you are with those 'gun' things under yourarms"

Well she did get an answer, but that didn't mean she wouldn't try andget him back for that stunt.

The mildly entertaining scene was interrupted by Revy's phone, whichstarted ringing at a constant pattern of beeps.

"What's making all that noise?"

Revy's cryptic answer puzzled Naruto even further, "Benny's gonnahave a field day with ya,"

The gunner flipped open the 'noise-maker' as Naruto had dubbed it,and brought it to her hear.

"Are you finished making us wait Dutch?"

"_Are you ready to blast some heads off?" _was Dutch's reply, whichboth excited and angered Revy.

"Whaddya mean Dutch," she started in a low growl, "Did they say I'mnot fit to be a mother! Cuz I sure don't fuckin' trust a guy whochurns out kiddie soldiers like a goddamn factory!"

"_I'll take that as a yes, and by the way, it's Naruto's sensei,Kushina I think, who turned down our 'request'" _Revy paused and puta hand over the phone's earpiece.

"Naruto"

Said genin looked up, "Hm?"

"Do ya have a teacher besides Cyclops? Someone namedKushina?"

Naruto's eyes widened a bit, then he nodded to her question. Revyuncovered the ear piece and replied, "The brat knows her, but why'dshe deny it?"

It was pretty easy for Naruto to eavesdrop on their conversation, sowhen he heard that his sensei, the person he trusted most in theworld (besides Revy of course) had denied him the chance to be withhis mother….

The scowl and dropping of multiple weapons definitely got Revy'sattention.

"Hey are yo-". she was cut-off by the front door to Naruto'sapartment slamming shut.

'_-vy, Revy! REVY!' _Dutch's voice brought the stunned sadist back toreality.

"Sorry Dutchy, I got a code red over here, head to the apartment whenyou're done"

Revy slammed the phone into her pocket and chased afterNaruto.

Which wasn't easy considering he was a fucking ninja.

><p>Kushina Uzumaki was a hot-blooded sort of gal. It was much to theHokage's surprise that she hadn't blown up at all at the mention ofher student's mother's return. However, what she allowed to show onthe outside, did not reflect what she thought on the inside. Naruto'smother was dead, and she knew it without a doubt, after-all theHokage had said so. It wasn't hard for her to pick up on thenon-verbal signs the aged leader had sent her the moment she hadentered the room.<p>

Now she had another mission, to protect her student. Whoever thishussy was would learn why she had been nicknamed 'The Red Death ofKonoha' by her enemies.

So now, said red-head was walking down the streets of Konoha, herdestination the apartment of her student.

"KUSHINA-SENSEI!"

The 'Habanero' looked u-

Pain. Lots and lots of pain. What the hell happened? She had heardNaruto calling out her name, and then the next moment a ton of forcehad impacted with her left cheek. Civilians stopped to watch thescene unfold. Naruto's teacher coughed a few times, blood spilledfrom her mouth a bit and she groggily looked up.

Before her was the pissed off image of Naruto, an image she hadn'tseen for years. The miniature Revy walked up to Kushina and pickedher up by the scruffs of her flak jacket.

"_Why?_" He growled out.

Fear jolted up her spine at his deathly tone, but she regained hercomposure and gripped his hands tightly, "Let go of me, and let meexplain."

The boy seemed disgruntled, he wanted to have a reason to be pissedoff, but his body complied and he slowly let go. Kushina took a fewbreaths and straightened out the wrinkles in her jacket.

Taking on the tone of a 'concerned and caring sensei' Kushina began."Naruto, I know how you feel, I may not have grown up alone, but Ican understand your pain… you need to come to terms with the factthat… whoever this woman claims she is, she isn't your realmother." Naruto looked down, his hair shadowing his eyes, "Naruto…your mother is dead. No matter how much I wish it wasn't true, itis."

"You're wrong!" Kushina's eyes widened in shock, had he reallydeluded himself this far?

Tears streamed down Naruto's face, the woman he had met only 3 daysago, she was everything he could ever imagine his mother would belike. Nobody, not even Anko or Kushina-sensei, had ever looked at himwith such love and affection before. Before Wave, he had consideredwhat he was even doing in Konoha, sure he had connections here,friends, sensei's and even Anko who was like an older sister tohim.

But Revy, she was something else entirely. The blonde had grown upall alone, never knowing the care of a mother, or seeing the pride inhis father's eyes at his own achievements….

He could finally have what he always wanted, a family, people who, nomatter where he was, he could feel at home with.

Naruto grit his teeth, he respected his sensei… but there were somethings he would never budge on, "You don't understand… if you mether you would know just by looking at her that she's my mom!" Kushinatried to walk forward and grab his shoulders but he slapped her handaway.

"Naruto...:"

><p>Revy ran as fast as her legs would carry her, looking left andright for her troublesome brat of a son. She hoped he wouldn't doanything too drastic, she wasn't much better herself but she had afew more years of experience in reigning her emotions than hedid.<p>

The woman turned a corner and saw a large group of civilians herdingaround two figures, one of which she recognized.

"Ha! Found ya now fucker!"

With a quick draw of her hands, Revy brought out both her guns andshot two rounds in the air, effectively scaring the civilians awayand leaving a confused Kushina with an equally pale Naruto.

The slow stroll of footsteps on a dirt road got closer and closer,Kushina looked past the despairing genin's shoulder only to gasp andtake a few steps back.

"Ohhh Narutoooo~" Revy smirked a bit with a feral gleam in her eyes,"Please tell me why you ran off like that…."

*click*

The distance between Naruto and Revy had closed, and the gunslingerhad her weapon of choice pressing into the back of Naruto's head,"Welll~?"

At this point, Kushina had broken out of her shock and glared atRevy, "Are you the one who claimed to be Naruto's mother?" Revyremoved her gun from Naruto's head, who sighed in relief, and cockedher head to the side while raising an eyebrow.

"Claimed to be? I didn't claim shit! I _am _the person who broughthim into existence if my vagina has anything to say about it!" Themurderer then turned to Naruto again and narrowed her eyes, "and whatare you so happy about? Your ass is mine when we get back to theapartment!"

And just like that, Naruto went back to being as pale as asnowflake.

Kushina took a step forward, "I think I see what's going onhere…"

"And just who the fuck are you!?" Honestly, did this woman say asingle sentence without cursing?

However, she would be the perfect example of a Konoha shinobi,"Excuse my manners, my name is Kushina Uzumaki, Naruto'ste-"

"You're the bitch who denied me custody!" A tick mark developed onKushina's head, one more, just one more time, and she would loseit.

With shaking fists, Kushina responded, "Yes, I am. I don't know whoyou are, or what you want, but I will not forgive you for usingNaruto's mother like this."

'_Is this bitch serious?' _Revy knew that even the dumbest of idiotscould see the resemblance between her and Naruto, was she in denialor something? The gunner for Lagoon slung an arm around her son, "Areyou tellin' me you can't see the family resemblance?"

"I'll admit that you two look a lot alike, but Naruto's mother wasconfirmed dead 12 years ag-"

"Can you show me the body?" Kushina's eyes widened.

"W-Wh- What?"

Revy took a few steps forward, "You heard me," another feralsmirk,"Where's the body, corpse, blood container…." Revy stopped,her face only a few centimeters from Kushina's.

"Is there even a grave?"

These were quite possibly the longest seconds of Kushina's life. ForNaruto it felt as if someone had frozen time at Revy and Kushina'sposition.

That is until...

"Maa, Maa, Naruto…. You always seem to find a way to stirruptrouble…"

Naruto turned around, the tense atmosphere broken from Kakashi'stimely appearance.

The masked Jounin gave Naruto a sad look, "I heard about your requestbeing denied, I'm sorry it turned out like that…"

The plum-haired genin looked down, his face marked withsadness…

'_Nice one cyclops…'_

Kakashi's sad look quickly turned to an eyesmile, one index fingerpointed upwards, "However!" Naruto took some papers from Kakashi'sother, outstretched, hand. "I think this little piece of news willcheer you up a bit…"

Revy dislodged herself from the still frozen Kushina's face andwalked up besides Naruto, "So what's this fascinating bit ofinformation cyclops?"

Cue eyebrow twitch, "The Chuunin Exams are coming up, and I've putforward Team 7 to participate… although it's up to Naruto if hewants to join the exams this year.."

Revy's face scrunched up at the legal forms… "Chuunin Exams?"Kakashi nodded and took on his 'sensei' voice.

"Dutch-san explained to me that in the west, most soldiers arepromoted through field promotions.." Kakashi paused for Revy to nod,and then continued, "While that is mostly the case here in theElemental Nations, during peaceful times the villages have turned tothe Chuunin Exams to let genin prove themselves worthy of the titleof Chuunin." The mass killer's face took on a look of understandingas she looked down at Naruto's beaming face.

"I'm guessin' you want to join this thing?" Naruto snapped his headup to Revy and nodded eagerly, causing Revy to sigh inexasperation…

'_At least he isn't pissed off or depressed anymore… maybe he'sbipolar?'_

"Fine. It's not like I'm goin' anywhere soon…"

Cue glare at Kushina, who had somehow taken a position next to herstudent.

Kushina furrowed her brow and said, "The Chuunin Exams huh..Kaka-kun," Revy looked to Kakashi and snickered at his exasperatedlook, "are you sure they are ready for that? They are only rookiesand the newbie's are most likely to die from inexperience…"

Revy started for a second, people died in these exams? Sure, shewasn't expecting something easy for a field promotion, but Cyclopshad never mentioned anything about death…

Sensing Revy's unease, Kakashi held up his arms in a complacentmanner, "Don't worry Revy-san, if anyone is ready to be Chuunin, Iwould say Naruto is." Revy calmed down a bit, but she still seemed abit anxious. Kushina saw Revy's reaction and couldn't stop the seedof doubt that had started growing in her mind.

Was it possible for the Hokage to have made a mistake?

"Well, if you want to join, be sure to make your way to room 310 inthe academy by 9 AM in two days…." Kakashi's figure dissipated in awhirlwind of leaves, leaving a ticked off Revy and fascinatedNaruto.

Seriously, he had to learn that jutsu!

><p>Dutch huffed a bit from his cigarette and leaned forward, "Afield promotion huh…." It was situations like these that remindedhim of his days in the military.<p>

Lagoon Company could be found gathered in Naruto's apartment, whichseemed to be shrinking from the large amount of people it was nevermeant to fit. Revy was casually reclining on the couch in the livingroom, Rock and Benny were leaning against the wall with Rock'scalculative look falling on Naruto.

Dutch got the comfortable leather chair, of course.

"I don't see a problem with it, but we still have another issue tothink about…."Dutch paused again to gather his thoughts, "We needto find a way outta here, preferably soon…" As much as he wanted tosupport one of his employees during a troubled time, Lagoon wouldneed to return to Roanapur, lest they incur the wrath ofBalalaika.

Revy looked at Dutch with an 'are you stupid?' Look, "And how do yasuggest we do that? Go out guns blazing fighting people withfreakish, supernatural powers?" She pointedly ignored Naruto'sdistraught face at being called 'freakish'

Rock stopped staring at Naruto long enough to think about theircurrent situation, the likelihood that they were being watchedclosely was… sigh… 100% How do you run from people who can travelfaster than cars?

"It would take a pretty big event for them to ignore us…" Naruto

trailed off, for some reason he felt like something bad would happensoon.

"What kind of event?" Dutch was willing to try anything if it wouldget them to Roanapur faster.

"A full on invasion from another hidden village, or an attack by atailed bea-"

Revy shot up from her relaxed pose and glared at Naruto, "Hell no!"Everyone paused at her sudden outburst and waited for her tocontinue, "You're not releasing that thing, ever, ya hear me!?"

The genin smiled at her, "It's okay Revy, I wasn't suggesting itseriously, besides, I wouldn't know how to release it even if Iwanted to." Revy turned away, muttering words along the lines of'damn right'

Dutch sweatdropped, but quickly came up with an idea that might justwork... "What about the Chuunin Exams?" Everybody looked at him, likehe was going to say more, but Naruto quickly caught on.

"The Chuunin Exams are a big event… lots of foreign ninja will bearriving in the village, which means the ANBU that would normally beassigned to us will be too busy watching out for anythingsuspicious…"

Dutch smirked widely, showing fairly sharp canines.

"There's our plan…"

5. UPDATE!

**Hello everybody, I have some pretty inportant news having to dealwith my personal life that will affect chapter updates for about aweek or so.**

**On Tuesday, April 12th, I went to the emergency room and found outthey had to remove my appendix. They performed the surgery on thesame day.**

**At around 1 I will be leaving the hospital and gping home, where Iwill be resting for about a week.**

**I will try to write during this time, but I dont want my conditionto affect mg writing or the story. Sorry for the inconvenience, andeverything should bd back to normal by Monday, April 18th.**

6. Where Hell Begins

Chapter 5: Where Hell Starts…

Kakashi walked out of the academy with a pleased look on his face…well he seemed please, his face mask got in the way of showing any ofhis emotions in general. It made people wonder if he slept with iton…

Looking up from his erotic reading material, he wasn't surprised tosee Revy leaning against the academy gates, her eyes piercing thehorizon in front of her. He approached with a 'I haven't noticed youyet' kind of walk.

"Cyclops…"

Kakashi's cool walk faltered a bit, if Gai had seen that he would'vestarted worshipping the mass killer.

"Hmm? Is there something you need Revy-san?"

Revy shifted so that she was standing upright, "These ChuuninExams… you wouldn't happen to know more aboutthem,wouldya?"

Kakashi eye-smiled at her round about way of showing affection forNaruto.

"Actually, I do."

One certain plum genin glared at the piece of paper before him. Whenhe was told about the Chuunin Exams by Kakashi, the masked bastardhad never mentioned anything about written exams.

'Bet he would say something about looking underneath theunderneath…. Screw my life…'

It wasn't that Naruto wasn't smart, oh he was smart alright, afterall he'd already figured out the purpose of the test, and he was sureSasuke and Sakura had figured it out too. He just hated being boredwas all, and these questions made him feel a bit stupid.

Which was why he'd turned the paper over.

The black-clad genin took this extra time to observe his surroundingsa bit more. He could spot the three Suna nin he had ran into the daybefore, which was interesting to say the least.

Gaara picked at every nerve in his body.

Temari seemed a bit brash like himself, but she definitely had whatit took to be a kunoichi, and Kankuro….

Kankuro was Kankuro.

Naruto narrowed his eyes when his thoughts started drifting towardsKabuto. That guy was almost like Gaara with the bad vibes he got fromthe 4-eyed 'genin'.

He snuck a glance towards the Hyuuga girl next to him, who caught hisgaze and snapped her head away with a blush. Naruto never really didunderstand why she did that so much.

Did his very presence make her feel sick?

"Alright maggots! Time for the final question!" Everybody stillqualified started paying rapt attention to the headinterrogator.

Ibiki smirked, "But…. with this next question comes a few morerules…". Naruto raised an eyebrow and a few groans of protestresounded throughout the room.

"Quiet! Now, as I was saying…. for the 10th question, you have achoice as to whether you want to take it or not…" Once again,confusion rang throughout the room. Temari immediately narrowed hereyes.

"What's the catch?"

Once the genin had quieted down, Ibiki replied, "If you don't takethe question, you will be immediately disqualified." The Proctor lethis words sink in for added effect, though a small vein popped whenhe spotted Naruto sticking his tongue out at him.

"Your other choice to take the question, comes with a risk… if youtake the final question and answer incorrectly," cue intense silence,"You will be dropped from the Chuunin Exams permanently, and willremain genin for the rest of your lives…"

"So its a room full of kids being played with by aninterrogator?"

Asuma smirked, "I guess you could put it like that…"

A small lounge room was holding a certain group of Jounin + 1, thecurrent topic of conversation being the Chuunin Exams.

"That's the Chuunin Exams?"

The same blue haired Jounin laughed, "Ohhh no… that's just one partof 'em, part 1 cuts down the number of participants, part 2 does thesame while testing out the genin. The final part actually decides whobecomes Chuunin."

So most of the rookies didnt even stand a chance. At least these guyshad standards…

Now comes the fun part.

"So…" Revy grinned, "Do your guys have what it takes?"

The only other lady of the group, a black haired woman with crimsoneyes, 'hmphed', "My genin are more than prepared, if anyone doesn'tstand a chance it would be Kakashi's team."

That statement got her a few incredulous from her peers, Kakashi felta bit offended, Sasuke was a great genin, and Naruto was certainlyChuunin level, the only one he had trouble with was Sakura, whofawned over Sasuke to the point of ignoring her training.

"And what about my team doesn't meet your standards Kurenai?". Eventhe other Jounin could see that Kakashi's team was at leastdecent.

Kurenai raised her hand nonchalantly, "For one, a chain is only asstrong as it's weakest link, which would make your team the weakestout of all of ours, that 'Sakura' girl of yours is barely Geninlevel, let alone Chuunin."

Asuma and Gai nodded a tad reluctantly, the new Jounin did have apoint. Everybody looked to Kakashi for his retort, but saw him sighinstead.

"You do have a point, out of all my students, she gives me the mosttrouble with training…"

Kurenai looked at him expectantly, "But?"

"But, Sasuke is a prodigy, and if he's considered a prodigy, thenNaruto should just have a Chuunin vest thrown at him."

Everybody missed the small puffing of Revy's chest.

Gai seemed a bit confused, "What about Naruto makes you say thatKakashi? I do admit he has plenty of youth but still…"

Kakashi sweatdropped at Gai's 'youth meter' but continued anyways,"Like Sasuke, he was trained since the age of 4, and he wasn'ttrained by just any run of the mill Jounin either." Now everyone wascurious, they knew of Naruto's skill as a ninja, but the subject ofwho trained him was a close guarded secret only Kakashi knew.

"Are you finally going to reveal his identity?"

Revy had to admit, this 'secret sensei' of her son had her mind bythe balls.

The masked man shook his head, "No, but even Kurenai should knowabout a specific ANBU turned missing nin…"

mKakashi then left a room of utterly shocked Jounin.

"Soo… who's the badass who taught my kid?"

When Kakashi had left with Revy in tow, she had expected the guy tounderstand that she didn't know who this 'missing nin' guy was.

Yet he didn't even seem to notice her presence.

Kakashi thought about it for a moment, and the more he did, the morehe realized it didn't matter if she knew or not…

She was planning on leaving with Naruto anyways, so the woman wouldfind out sooner or later. He stopped walking and turned to face Revy,who had her hands on her hips.

"How do I put this…." Kakashi felt like he was a tourist guideexplaining rocks, "I have told you about our ranks, correct?"

"Yeah, what… is there more?"

Kakashi nodded and closed his book, "Most villages that produce ninjahave what you could call the elite of the elite, ninja that shouldn'tbe squandered on petty B Rank missions"

Revy could actually understand what he was talking about now,basically this racket of ninja were the special bees of the village,"So you're talkin' about a black ops division."

Kakashi nodded, "Exactly, and Naruto was trained by one ofthem."

"And what was so special about the fucker who trained him?" Kakashichoked a bit at Revy's nickname and imagined said ninja'sreaction.

"Your son's sensei was considered amazing, even among our ANBU BlackOps," when Kakashi made eye contact with Revy he almost regrettedit…

eyes were like stars…

But she quickly came back to reality, "And shit went south?"

"The ANBU's name was Itachi Uchiha, and I guess you could refer tothe Uchiha Massacre like that…."

The weak groan of a chain link fence sounded throughout a group ofslightly nervous Genin. The vibration caused by one Anko Mitarashi.Who was a bit distracted at the moment.

Truth was, she didn't know how to feel about this Revy character.There was no doubt about her being Naruto's mother, and Revy had beenlooking for Naruto her whole life…

But Anko was still mad at her.

It felt like a punch to the stomach, Anko had been looking out forNaruto for practically his whole life. Then, Revy shows up out ofnowhere and gets his undying affection?

She couldn't stop the flinch that triggered when she caught eyecontact with Naruto.

Mad and guilty.

"Alright brats! Sit down and shutup 'cuz I'll only explain thisonce!"

Like a bunch of military cadets, everybody stopped talking and turnedto her. She half expected them to salute. She quickly brought out herarms to her sides and spread them out into the air.

"Welcome to my personal training ground and your new home for thenext 5 days," wait for it…

"The Forest of Death, otherwise known as Training Ground 44!"

As if on cue, what sounded like a giant arachnid made ablood-curdling screech in the forest.

Most of the genin were terrified, while Naruto just scoffed andcrossed his arms, "Yeah, yeah, it's a giant forest with tons ofspooky monsters… no need for thea-"

Shlink!

"Ohhh~ is the big bad genin not afraid of the place I set up forhim?" a chillingly sweet voice rang in his ear, and what was morescary about it was the seductive undertone.

Was Anko sexy or sadistic? Both?

Naruto chose to ignore cut on his cheek and round balls pressing intohis backside for a more important topic, "Ank-"

"Not now my little plum, Just focus on surviving the next five daysand you might…"

Hot breath shot shivers down his spine,

"Get. a. treat."

Foreplay was quickly forgotten when Anko spun around and put anotherkunai at a grass village genin's neck.

"Sorry for disturbing you, but I believe this is yours?" Anko triedto gracefully accept her weapon from the genin's… tongue.

"Ahh! Thank you! But for future reference, please don't sneak up onme again, or you might die"

The genderless genin bowed 'it's' head, "My apologies…"

A second later, Anko was back to standing on the chain link fence,two scrolls being held in her outstretched hands.

"Each of you will be given one of these two scrolls! A Heaven scroll!Or an Earth scroll!"

Anko put the scrolls away and tucked her hands in her coat, "Yourobjective is to retrieve the scroll you don't have, and then make itback to the tower in the center of the forest in 5 days!"

Some genin groaned and one shouted out, "5 DAYS?! What'll we do about

food?"

Anko grinned, "Not my problem, but if it helps, there are plenty ofplants and animals to eat out there, that is… if they don't eat youfirst."

"You are disqualified if one of your teammates dies or does not cometo the tower with you! Also!"

Anko glared at the genin, "Do NOT open your scrolls, or you willsuffer the consequences, understood?"

A collective nod brought forth the purple haired sadist's next task,"Now, I'm gonna hand out these papers that make Konoha void ofresponsibility for any deaths. Refusing to sign these is likedropping out of the Chuunin exams!"

She then casually tossed the papers to Sasuke, who began handing themout, "When you turn these in you will be handed your scrolls and headto your designated gates for departure! Any questions!?"

All that was heard was the signing of papers and chatter amongst thegenin.

Revy looked up from her 'shot' glass and peered at Dutch, who seemedpretty amused by the story he'd just been told.

"Well it seems fucked up runs in the family"

All he got for his words was the bird from Revy. Rock lookeduncomfortably at his own shot glass, "You sure we should be drinkingin Naruto's apartment like this?"

"Oh jeez, you and your fuckin' manners…" Revy gulped down anothershot and then slammed her glass down. Her stare turned to Kakashi,who was still reading his book.

"Naruto's probably drank before, afterall, you did find that sake inhis drawers, right Dutch?"

Said war veteran glanced at his Sake and gave a discreet nod inresponse. Benny popped his head up from behind the couch.

"Not even one outlet. I don't think even Africa has it this bad." Thegeek gave an exasperated sigh and propped an arm up.

Seriously, these guys were barely in the industrial revolutionstage.

"They let kids drink here?" not surprisingly, the question came fromRock.

Revy was about to make an insult, but stopped when she realized thather son was drinking sake.

Kakashi picked up on the answer, "The saying goes, 'Old enough tokill, old enough to drink or fuck.'" The reply seemed to placateeverybody except for Rock, who still seemed disgruntled about itall.

"Maa, I believe they should be in the second phase of the ChuuninExams by now…" Revy's interest skyrocketed, and she eagerly turnedto Kakashi for more information.

Dutch chose to be objective, "Why are you helpin' us?" A sigh washeard as Kakashi closed his eyes sadly.

"If there was anything I wished I had as a kid, it would be a mother.I was lucky enough to have my father as long as I did," the maskedJounin looked down, lost in the past for a moment, "I guess what I'mtrying to say is that, if it were me, I would've been eternallygrateful to somebody if they gave me the chance Naruto hasnow"

Dutch smiled, not everybody here was a dick.

"Well then, when do you think is our chance to leave this village oftree huggers?"

Sappy atmosphere gone.

"All jokes aside, your best shot would be the third phase of theExams."

Naruto leapt off a branch, only for it to be brutally snapped off bya weird grass genin's kick.

He spun around in the air while grabbing a kunai to face hisopponent, Sakura and Sasuke beside him.

"Kukukuku…. Sasuke-kun, Naruto-kun, how nice it is to meetyou…."

Helllooooo everybody, first of all, thankyou for the support ireceived in the last update, I have been healing great and should beback in tip top shape by monday to tuesday-ish. This chapter I feltwas like a dialogue/setup chapter for the great 'escape from Konoha'arc. It may not be the best chapter also because part of it was madebefore the surgery, after it, and then a little but more after it(when i felt wayyy better)

I have also gotten some concerns as to whether this story will go toRoanapur or not, and trust me, it will. In fact, a great majority ifthis story is based in Roanapur, so no worries there.

I still need reviews as always, and idk how to setup polls forpairings so I will just start counting them up inreviews.
