Danfoss UK refurbish head office – an opportunity to impress Danfoss moved out of its main UK premises for four months while the building was completely refurbished. The upgrade provided the company with an opportunity to review its audio visual set-up. One of the key objectives, it was decided, was to impress, educate and help partners visiting the Danfoss office. The company also made a large commitment to dedicated meeting and training space.

Important attributes in an AV partner – expertise and options Andrew Hambi, IT Manager at Danfoss UK for 17 years, suggested that the company had previously had problems with its AV supplier. The maintenance contract had not been well serviced, but, tellingly, he felt that the supplier had not been able to keep Danfoss up to date.

Danfoss sales partners – education When Andrew Hambi speaks about the projects Carillion has been involved in he credits new meeting rooms. However, prime mention goes to the wall-mounted 70” touchscreen in the Danfoss exhibition area.

The touchscreen provides a new level of interactivity. The multi-touch display is equipped with automatic touch recognition that enables true plug-and-play operation.

The touchscreen is indicative of how people acquire knowledge today and how technology supports business and deeper product understanding … and ultimately commercial partnerships and sales.

The touchscreen functions as a virtual guide and the visitor can select their own content and user journey. The self-service aspect of the touchscreen content is compelling and effective.

A content journey might begin with a selection of Danfoss product ranges, which can be developed further to see what the products do and how they are applied, and further still to show how they affect people’s lives. The touchscreen facilitates sales partner product education in a more natural and immersive way than historical static or linear presentations.

Multiple meeting rooms – every minute productive Carillion equipped seven new meeting rooms. Three of the rooms are large meeting rooms, of which one is an adaptable space that can hold 50 people theatre-style, used for training and company-wide meetings.

The general meeting rooms are used mostly for sales conferences. Denham has become a central hub for colleagues from around Europe. The company also holds “town hall” meetings four times a year, which are events that involve everyone in the Denham facility and 100 external attendees.

A standard meeting room has a 55” screen and most of the rooms have Clickshare available, which enables users to set up and get started immediately with their presentation and switch presenter without any delays to meetings.

Andrew Hambi says, “Wireless has big advantages for us; and the beauty of the new set-up is that people can present from any device, including iPads and Phones. Meetings are different in that they can start right away; no IT involvement is required.”

So far as IT support is concerned, each room has a meeting package containing controllers and one page of simple instructions. “Meeting rooms are self-help; there is no disruption to the business.”

New AV technology, new facility – what’s the feedback? Andrew Hambi says that the feedback on the combination of the refurbished facility and new AV technology has been extremely positive.

“It’s important to Danfoss to make the best possible impression on visitors and on staff, to promote the company as a leader in its field. Our investment in AV technology was intended to satisfy several overlapping objectives, part customer education, part marketing, part staff morale and productivity.”

“The new equipment conveys the credibility of Danfoss and instils confidence in our partners. They particularly like the way they can explore products at their own pace, according to their level of experience.”

Carillion Communications – always willing to help Andrew Hambi identifies Carillion characteristics as “trustworthy” and “always willing to help.”

A Carillion Case Study: Danfoss Group

pg 3 of 3

The Carillion Communications difference Dee Reed, MD, Carillion Communications said, “I use case studies as a performance benchmarking tool. The positive feedback on our attitude towards customers and our expertise is incredibly consistent. This Danfoss plaudit suggests how much customers value care and honesty, and reinforces to everyone at Carillion how important it is to maintain these high standards in order to maintain high customer satisfaction levels.”

He particularly valued Carillion’s consistent approach to providing options and explaining them carefully. He distinguishes this approach from suppliers who suggest their own preferred technical solution in a take-it-or-leave-it manner.

To sum up his view of Carillion, Andrew Hambi said, “Everyone at Carillion has a genuine desire to give us the right solution to solve our problem.”
