DAMIAN SCHECHTER 22 YEARS OF AGE WHO AM I: “A Cape Town born and bred boy. Live life for friends and family, and my clients equally. I am a Personal Trainer with about 2 years involved within the industry. I compete in Fitness & Bodybuilding competitions and pageants where I have dubbed MR PHYSIQUE SA U178cm for 2013 and 2014. I have also recently placed 2nd at IFBB South Africa in the MENS ATHLETIC PHYSIQUE division, putting me 2nd in the country for IFBB within my division.” I AM MOTIVATED: ‘If you do what is easy, your life will be hard. I’m keen on taking on new challenges and doing things I never thought id be capable to do. Training and bodybuilding is just one of the many things I’ve taken an interest to. Others include trail running (2nd at IMPI CHALLENGE within my division), Taekwondo, Cape Argus, Hiking, Swimming and more… I want to showcase myself as not only an athlete and brand ambassador, but as an image of good sportsmanship and leading a healthy balanced lifestyle too” MY SPONSORS & AMBASSADORSHIPS: I am currently one of the ambassadors for the largest functional gym in Cape Town South Africa, IGNITE FITNESS. This has been a great thing to happen for me as I have met many new friends and trainers that have pushed me past limits I thought I couldn’t make. Ambassadors alike for IGNITE include MMA Champion Don Madge, Fitness expert and socialite Nicole Naude and more. USN (Ultimate Sports Nutrition) was one of my first sponsors that have backed me in my journey to reach the IFBB World Champs in which I intend on receiving a pro-‐card. I have very specific requirements with regards to the nutrition I need to excel in this sport, of which USN have provided me with everything I have asked for, and more! Other athletes part of the USN brand who have reached much success include Ryan Terry, Peter Gaiser, Shameen Adams and many other world-‐class athletes. DRANGED Clothing, one of the leaders in local and international training and gym lifestyle gear were my first sponsorship and carry on until today providing me with seriously some of THE coolest gear (Shirts Pants Vests) I could’ve ever asked for.. VIBRAM Five Fingers – Barefoot sports shoes. By far the most comfortable and durable shoes for all the forms of fitness I am involved in. I have really been passionate about this brand for a long time and am extremely proud of myself for landing such a kick-‐ass sponsor who has opened their doors to some seriously quality athletes out there!!
WHERE I SEE MYSELF GOING WITHIN THE INDUSTRY: ‘ We all want the same thing. To be seen on the ‘Worlds stage’, to be valued as an athlete and live the lifestyle that comes with it. Majority of us are Personal Trainers, which of course helps us in maintaining our bodies and using our knowledge learnt to better ourselves in mind and body. I want to use ‘competing ‘ as a platform to build my credibility as a trainer – To one-‐day prep & condition top fitness and bodybuilding athletes. COMPETITIONS & PLACINGS: 1.
