ONE STOP SHOP PHILOSOPHY

INTRODUCTIONDamen Schelde Marine Services (DSMS) is an independent operating company within the Royal Schelde Group, which in turn is part of the Damen Shipyard Group. Our main area of operation is the manufacturing and supply of diesel engine parts, primarily for the marine industry.

Having been a licensee manufacturer of New Sulzer Diesel for over 70 years, DSMS has a wealth of technical knowledge and experience. This enables us to supply our customers with “added value support”.

Over the years, DSMS has developed a sophisticated software program (an ERP system in combination with the latest portal technology). This enables both customers and suppliers to access DSMS online 24 hours seven days a week. Based on consignment/conventional stock, DSMS is able to create a “one stop shop” for the marine industry requirements.

DSMS has made additional steps to further integrate the supply chain. With the integration of new software modules designed for our one stop shop philosophy, DSMS is able to interface electronically (EDI) with both vessel owners and manufacturers.

We have created a unique database with catalogues of more than 8000 individual vessels. With these catalogues, DSMS is also able to comply with the latest IMO (Marpol annex VI) regulations. With warehouses in several strategic locations, DSMS is always close to the preferred delivery point.


SULZER

Having been the fi rst licensee manufacturer of Sulzer

main engines. Damen Schelde Marine Services has

accumulated over 90 years of experience. Through the

“online connection” between our Sales Offi ces and

Head Offi ce, standard enquiries can be answered by

return. With stock of almost 100% of all wear parts,

together with our in-house forwarding department,

urgent deliveries can be arranged immediately. Supply

is from our warehouses in Vlissingen (the Netherlands),

Shanghai and Singapore.

Over the years, Damen Schelde Marine

Services has become an expert in the field

of engine pneumatic spare parts. We offer

our clients a complete scope of Wabco-

Westinghouse valves and repair kits from

stock. A senior Service Engineer is available

for troubleshooting and repairs. With 70

years experience as an OEM Sulzer engine

manufacturer, Damen Schelde Marine Services

has full detailed documentation of the entire

engine configuration.

We know which repair kits are needed for your Sulzer

components. We can recognize the relevant parts from

their original Wabco numbers, the Sulzer code numbers

or even with the item numbers from the schematic layout.

During the years, we have built up an almost complete

Wabco Nabco cross-reference list. Even for B&W engine

types we have a growing database of its code numbers.

BEARINGS AND VALVES

Damen Schelde Marine Services has a close co-operation with several Japanese manufacturers. Some of the

products that we produce in Japan are: bearings, exhaust valves and seats, cams, fuel pump blocks and actuators.

type auxiliary engines.

A continually increasing scope of spare parts for

4-stroke diesel engines are available from stock. With

almost 100% coverage of most wear parts for the

popular engine types, and with our in-house forwarding

department, urgent deliveries can be arranged

immediately. For the engine bearings, both white metal

and aluminium type are in stock, produced by the

original manufacturer.

Together with our success of manufacturing and supplying

Sulzer engine parts, Damen Schelde Marine Services is

now doing the same with B&W type engine parts for

selective engines. For our B&W type engine parts Damen

Schelde Marine Services maintains the same procedures

in manufacturing, and keeps the same strict quality control

just like as with our other engine parts.

With stock availability of most wear parts, together with

our inhouse forwarding department, urgent deliveries can

be arranged immediately. Supply is from our warehouses

in Vlissingen (the Netherlands), Shanghai and Singapore.
