The DAMAS system is the first modular aluminum approach

shoring system certified by the Air Transport Test Load Agency (ATTLA) for use on USAF cargo aircraft (C-130, C-17, and C-5)

Each DAMAS component is designed and engineered to not exceed any aircraft PSI limitation when placed on the aircraft cargo

floor or cargo ramp.

Be very careful when shopping around for aluminum approach shoring.

There are “Johnny-come-latelies” selling cheap knock-offs that have engineering shortcomings that may

damage the aircraft (unless plywood is placed under the aluminum shoring).

Modular Design – One DAMAS system can replace the three

wooden approach shoring sets required for one piece of

equipment (1 for C-130, 1 for C-17, and 1 for C-5).

Replaces wooden shoring (saves trees)

Lighter than wooden shoring (saves fuel)

Quicker setup than wooden shoring(saves time)

Longer lifespan than wooden shoring(saves money)

Will not attract boring insects(Customs/Agriculture)

The challenge is establishing which DAMAS set of components, or configuration, is needed for your

specific piece of equipment on a particular aircraft

The shorter the ground clearance the longer the approach required

The taller equipment will need longer approach for the C-130 (not so much for the C-17/C-5)

Careful thought should used when determining which DAMAS components should be purchased We don’t want to purchase unneeded parts or parts that won’t meet the need Help is available to make this decision

What you need to provide:1) Overall dimensions (LxWxH) 2) Axle width or "Span" (measured

from the outside of the tires)4) Distance of the axle(s) from the

front of the trailer5) Ground clearance for the "jack

stand" when raised6) Ground clearance of the rear of the

trailer7) Ground clearance of any "low-hanging-

fruit" and distance from the front of trailer
