    About Lake Savers

To deliver ACTIONABLEstrategies torestore lakes to a balanced, pristinecondition for the benefit of currentstakeholders and future generations.

    Mission:

    Lake Savers 4

    Overview and Objectives

Urban Lakes receive more nutrients and pollutants from the

surrounding environment than they were designed to handlenaturally.

Even healthy lakes can experience spikes in pathogenicbacteria and nutrients due to rain events.

The key to keeping urban lakes healthy is to INCREASEtheircapacity to process nutrients and pollutants.

The Clean-Flo Restoration Process is the most effectiveapproach to keeping lakes healthy and safe for recreationaluse. This approach will:

Kill pathogenic bacteria that enter the lake by exposing

them to oxygen and sunlight continuously. Keep algae and weeds under control without the need

    for chemical herbicides.

Improve the lake environment for fish, turtles, frogs, etc.

Five Key Points Guiding our Approach

    to Natural Lake Restoration

    1. Most water bodies are overfed and out ofbalance.

    2. Conventional strategies are primarily peoplemanagement strategies not lake management

    strategies.

    3. Nutrient reduction (Internal & External)is theonly sustainable approach to Lake Restoration.

    4. Lakes Need to Breath to Be Healthy!

    5. Lake Savers can put your lake on a diet andexercise program utilizing ENGINEEREDAERATION and BACTERIAL AUGMENTATIONto restore health, balance and recreationalquality.

    The Importance of Dissolved Oxygen

Oxygen Depleted Lake Oxygen Rich Lake

    1. When oxygen runs out at the lakebottom phosphorus can release fromthe sediments and feed weed growthand algae blooms.

    2. Anaerobic bacteria take overproducing ammonia, methane andhydrogen sulfide.

    3. Organic muck accumulationaccelerates.

    4. Fish Cant feed at the bottom (wheremost of the food is) stunting, fishkills possible, rough fish begin tooutcompete desirable species.

    1. In the presence of oxygenPhosphorus stays locked in thesediments unavailable to weeds andalgae.

    2. Aerobic bacteria thrive forming ahealthy bottom environment andbase for the aquatic food chain.

    3. Aerobic bacteria literally eatmuck/organics converting it tocarbon dioxide and water.

    4. Fish can feed all the way to thebottom creating a healthy fisheryboth in size and population ofdesirable species.

    Engineered Aeration & BeneficialBacteria/Enzyme Treatments

How Engineered Aeration & BeneficialBacteria/Enzyme Treatments Work

A system of underwater air diffusers connected to shore-based compressor units by self-sinking airline.

Each system is custom engineered based on the specificneeds and requirements of each lake.

Water picks-up oxygen at the surface and is circulated back tothe bottom maintaining a continuous supply of oxygen

    throughout the entire water column.

High oxygen levels and off-gassing reduce nutrient levels, reducing weed and algae growth.

Beneficial bacteria and enzyme products are added to restorebalance to the aquatic eco-system.

Beneficial bacteria that require oxygen, literally eat the organic

    muck on the bottom.
