Healthy and relaxed cows increase milk production.
2 cow brushes for optimal cow comfort: E-Brush and M-Brush
2 | E-Brush and M-Brush – The right choice.
Cows enjoy rubbing themselves against things - it is part of their nature!Cleaner cows will help to substantially improve hygiene levels: a clean skin, in particular on the cow‘s back, willaid the release of heat through the skin and improve circulation. GEA Farm Technologies presents two types of cow brushes with horizontal or diagonal brush mechanism. Their robust construction can withstand the forces yielded by the cows and, since it provides some resistance, the cows are able to apply pressure without pushing the brush out of their reach.

The horizontal design of the E-brush ensures cleaning and brushing where it is most needed: on the cow’s back, tail and head. The pendulum design ensures optimum counter pressure and effect.

The cow brushes are suitable for all kinds of dairycattle. Correct installation position based on theaverage height of the cows within the herd ensuresoptimal use, benefit and cow comfort.
Easy start: The brush element and the drive can belifted slightly due to the design. The brush will start when the control detects movement. After start-up the brush will rotate for approx. 60 sec. Next time it is activated the brush will start in the opposite direction of rotation. This substantially improves the lifetime of the bristles, has a self-cleaning effect and prevents flattening of the bristle fibres.
Reliability and durability: This is ensured by the use of nylon fibre material instead of polypropylene, as nylon has a much higher resistance to wear. The nylon bristle hairs will stay upright for longer, ensuring a better brushing effect. All parts are protected into the encased drive unit for a longer durability.
The diagonal design of the M-brush cleans both the cow’sback and down the sides, and the stationary rotation ensures- unlike free-hanging vertical brushes - greater counterpressure.

Cow comfort: The brush from GEA Farm Technologies is designed for dairy cattle inside free stall barns. The capacity is approx. 50 cows. The brush is made up of rings in two different diameters. As such the brush is better adapted to the shape of the cows. The tailhead, the head and the back can be more effectively brushed thanks to this brush shape.
Note: The cow brushes are not suitable for bulls and cattle in heat. It is advised to keep the animal‘s hair short. Long tail hair must be trimmed to prevent entangling of the hairs in the brush. The animals must be dehorned and not wearing halters etc. It is important to locate it in a neutral place without too much cow traffic. Preferable not close to the milking machines or the feeding areas to avoid buttlenecks in the barn.
