CHRYSLER, JEEP® AND DODGE INTRODUCING

AUTO INSURANCE

A major issue among dealers concerns insurance companies that refer policyholders

to body shops not affiliated with their dealership. The result has been a decrease in

parts and collision repair profits. DCIC has addressed this issue by offering Chrysler,

Jeep®, and Dodge customers an auto insurance policy that guarantees the use of Original

Equipment (OE) Mopar Parts. Taking it a step further, these customers will be directed to

local Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge body shops or associated repair facilities for service.

DCIC understands the impact collision parts and service can have on a dealership’s

profit picture. With this in mind, we’re confident the Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge Auto

Insurance program will have a positive impact on the success of your dealership.

CHRYSLER, JEEP® AND DODGE AUTO INSURANCE,

A WIN, WIN, WIN OPPORTUNITY!

Helping improve the bottom line for dealerships has been an ongoing goal of DaimlerChrysler Insurance Company (DCIC). In yet another example of this commitment, we’re proud to present Chrysler, Jeep®, and Dodge Auto Insurance. By listening to the needs and concerns of dealers throughout North America, we’ve developed an innovative insurance product that you’ll find beneficial on a variety of levels. We encourage you to review the pages that follow and learn how DCIC can help improve your bottom line.

Chrysler, Jeep®, and Dodge Auto Insurance guarantees customers their DaimlerChrysler

brand vehicles will be repaired with OE Mopar Parts (marketed as Authentic Mopar

Parts). This means you’ll see an increase in parts and repair sales, as well as customer

loyalty. Through the AIG Personal Care F.I.R.S.T. program, which is featured on page 4,

customers will be directed to your dealership body shop (or the body shop you use) for

repairs. At the end of the day, your customer will have received the right repair with the

right parts. And you’ll have another happy customer—a major factor in future car sales.

More than anything, price is the major factor consumers use to evaluate auto

insurance companies. In fact, research indicates that more than 70% of the customer

purchase decision is based on price. So when your customers find they can save an

average of $358.50 per year, you’re already a hero who is looking out for their best

interest. Your DaimlerChrysler brand customers will also appreciate the fact this coverage

uses OE Mopar Parts and provides recommendations for the best repair facilities. DCIC

and AIG have partnered for a truly ideal insurance program. Your customers will agree.

Customers will be offered insurance under one of the following names:

CHRYSLER AUTO INSURANCE 1-877-244-1531

JEEP® AUTO INSURANCE 1-800-836-1586

is no need to shop all three. And because Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge Auto Insurance

offers coverage for all makes and models of vehicles, DaimlerChrysler and otherwise,

customers can insure every vehicle in their household under one policy.

THREE

AIG: THE PERFECT PARTNER.DCIC strives to provide dealerships with high quality, innovative

products and services. For this reason, we went to great lengths to

select a partner for the Chrysler, Jeep®, and Dodge Auto Insurance

Program. The perfect partner had to share our high standards for

customer satisfaction. It had to provide competitive pricing, ease and

convenience in obtaining a quote, and exceptional claims service.

Equally important, the ideal insurance partner would have to commit

to using only OE Mopar Parts. After reviewing countless auto

insurance companies, AIG was the overwhelming choice.

As the fastest growing U.S. auto insurer,* AIG brings a lot to

the partnership. Their world-class customer service provides

our customers with a 24/7 Claims Service Hotline. Evidence of

AIG’s outstanding customer service can be found in a 90%+

policy retention rate. Even more impressive, AIG functions with

the lowest operating costs in the industry. It’s no surprise

the program offers your customers significant savings.

AIG Personal Care F.I.R.S.T.—An added incentive.

The AIG Personal Care F.I.R.S.T. program

can provide a significant boost to your

parts and body shop repair business.

Here’s how it works: When a Chrysler,

Jeep, and Dodge Auto Insurance customer

in your area files a claim, a claims

representative will recommend the

customer take their Chrysler, Jeep, and

Dodge vehicle directly to your body shop

for all repairs. In fact, your shop will be recommended for all

claims reported in your area, including competitor vehicles.

The AIG Personal Care F.I.R.S.T. program costs nothing to join, and

even if your dealership does not have a body shop, you can still

enroll. Simply have your partnering or referral body shop complete

the application process.

FOUR

PROVEN MARKETING METHODS WILL ENSURE SUCCESS.

FIVE

Each brand of the Chrysler, Jeep®, and Dodge Auto Insurance Program will be marketed

on an equal, individual basis. Two phases of marketing are planned. Phase 1 will be

launched in the 4th quarter of 2004, followed by Phase 2, scheduled to launch in 2005.

Phase 1, which focuses on customer awareness, will use direct mail to familiarize

the customer with the auto insurance program and communicate its inherent value/

affordability as well as the importance of using Authentic Mopar Parts. There are

four separate executions planned for Phase 1: An advertisement and advertorial

in the Fall Owner Magazines; an insert included in the New Owner Appreciation

Packages; and a direct mailing. The direct mail piece will provide a detailed

look at the program’s benefi ts and invite customers to call for a free rate quote.

Phase 2 of the marketing plan will focus primarily on leveraging the value of the Chrysler,

Jeep and Dodge dealerships to promote the insurance programs to their customers.

In addition, the feasibility of selling insurance in the dealership will be explored,

although due to the strict state laws, insurance will be offered on a state by state basis.

Stay tuned for additional information as this initiative grows.

Considering the obvious consumer

benefi ts, the program could sell itself

quite well through word-of-mouth

alone. However, our commitment to

dealership success warrants nothing

short of a comprehensive, value-

added marketing campaign.

These announcement ads make current Chrysler, Jeep® and Dodge owners aware of the new Auto Insurance Program. These ads emphasize the average customer savings of $358.50 a year, the value of OE parts over other replacement parts and the appropriate brand contact number to call for a free rate quote.

Q: DIDN’T GMAC AND FORD CREDIT DO SOMETHING SIMILAR AND DIDN’T MAKE ANY MONEY DUE TO THE RISK OR RESERVE? A: Both GMAC and Ford Credit offer personal auto insurance to their vehicle owners. GMAC absorbs the risk through their insurance affiliate, GMAC Insurance while Ford Credit drives customers to an online quote system that uses a number of carriers. In our case AIG is the issuer, so DCIC holds no risk.

Q: HOW IS THIS PROGRAM DIFFERENT FROM THE COMPETITION?A: Using the expertise of our partner in the non-traditional insurance market, we are able to keep our expense costs down and drive a higher rate of return. Traditional insurance markets use the independent agent distribution channel which adds cost to the venture. Non-traditional insurance marketing utilizes a sophisticated direct mail system that is able to do some analysis on customer information that helps the mailing achieve higher response rates.
