Today we are learning: English: To identify adjectives, verbs and adverbs in command sentences. Handwriting: To do up-sweeping joins. Reading: To Make Predictions about a text. Digital Technology: When we use digital systems we have to put information, or data, into them and get results out. Maths: To identify and continue number patterns. Fact fluency using the ‘Use Ten’ strategy. HASS: To sequence special events into a monthly calendar.

10:30-11:00 Digital Technologies Remember, to use digital systems we have to put information, or data, into them and get results out. We call what goes in ‘input’ and what goes out ‘output’.
First, sort these devices into input or output (some of these may be both):
webcam, monitor, speakers, smartboard, mouse, tv, fax machine, scanner, game controller, printer, headphones, keyboard, microphone, camera, 3D printer

Number Patterns • Complete the Creating Increasing Number Patterns worksheet below.
First, identify the pattern rule and then complete the pattern by colouring the numbers on the hundreds board and then by writing the next four numbers in the sequence.
When you have finished, send a photo of your completed worksheet to your teacher.
Maths extension activity: Optional • Create your own number pattern for someone else to solve. Remember,
the pattern must have an easy to follow rule. Once complete, send it to your teacher for your classmates to solve tomorrow. When you have finished, send your number pattern to your teacher.

Fact fluency
This week’s number facts strategy is ‘Use Ten’.
This strategy when doing multiplication and division sums is based on
the 10x tables. Strategy explained:
5x7=?
This means there are 5 groups of 7.
So 10 groups of 7 is double the amount of groups. So think:
10x7=70
Half of 10 is 5. So half of 70 is:
70÷2=35
Therefore:
5x7=35
Complete the fact fluency activity below. Write the answers to these questions as quickly as you can. See if you can time
yourself or have someone else time you.
