The Memorial of a Double Feast!!

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

This past Saturday, the 14th of September, the Lord

gave us yet another memorial of His unfathomable

love. Not only did we experience His presence in

the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass ‘on the Grass,’ the

feast par excellence, but we were given the grace of

another feast immediately following, the annual

Nativity Church Picnic!

First of all, I want to give a big ‘Thank You’ to all

that helped make this year’s picnic a huge

success. The weather seemed to threaten our fun

picnic, but those were no match to the prayers of

those who were wishing for a joyous picnic.

If you missed it, last Saturday, Our Director of Lay

Ministries, Ingrid Pineda, headed up a very willing

group of parishioners, that also included many

associated with our various ministries, in organizing

our parking lot and O’Connell hall for a very

relaxing picnic with hamburgers, hot dogs, all the

sides and fixings you could want.

We had music with Zak, pop corn, a cotton candy

machine and two ‘bouncy castles’ for our

youth! What more could we have asked

for! Everyone had a nice evening to be together

catch up and share time as a parish community.

Let us not forget this memorial of God’s love in our

lives. The Lord is always trying to assure us of His

love and stops at nothing to do so.

Fr. Jason

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION K-8: We are happy to announce that our classes are off to a wonderful start, thanks to the most generous efforts of our volunteer staff of catechists and parents. We are all very happy to be able to share our faith with the young children of Nativity. CONFIRMATION PROGRAM 2020: All parents and children who are in the ninth grade and who are considering taking part in next year’s Confirmation Program must attend an information session to be held Wednesday October 9, 2019 @ 7:30pm at the Church. FIRST PENANCE PROGRAM: Letters announcing the events of our program will be mailed to the parents of second graders in our parish. All parents who have expressed an interest in taking part in the program will attend an important meeting on Sunday October 20, 2019 at 9:00 AM at the Chapel, to help them reflect on the place of the Sacrament of Penance in their own lives and in the lives of their children. Reminder: All children who intend to prepare for First Holy Communion must also be prepared for First Penance. GOOD NEWS FOR LITTLE ONES IS BACK! IS SOMEONE UNDER 5 IN YOUR FAMILY? Q. Why do we bless catechists on Catechetical Sunday? A.
