This manual
is an explanation
for the
procedure
of daily
inspection
which is
mentioned
in
the
'Daily
lnspection" card.(SD-SC-03E1

inspection
is a simple
operation,
but
it is very
important
for safe
driving.
Also,
it will
save
time and cost for
maintenance.

"Daily Inspection"
CARD
The
"Daily
lnspection'card
is same size
as
the'DRIVER'S
HANDBOOK"
(OWNER'S MANUAL)
to be
able to use
the card
at
the
daily
inspection
operation.
Please
retain
the
card
with
'DRIVER'S
HANDBOOK'(OWNER'S
MANUAL)
in
the
vehicle.
Refer below
regarding
how to use
the'Daily
lnspection'card.

at its
contacting
section

Check the treads
and
the
sides of
the tires
for
any cracking or damage.
Also, be sure that no foreign materials such as
stone,
nails
are
embedded
in
the surface of the
treads
or
the
sides
of tires.

2. lf
you
find any defects in any
tire,
repair
or
replace the
tire
with
a new
one.
3.
lf the
cracks
reaches inside
conslruction
or
if it
is exposed,
do
not
use
the
tire.
The
tire's
intended
strength
will
not
be
retained
and
it might
get
damaged.

and add air only when

replace the
valve
cap after
checking

Groove depth and

Groove
depth of
tire
1)
Check
to see
that
enough
depth
of
grooves
are
remaining
on the
tire.
2) When the tire has worn down
to
lhe
minimum
groove
depth, the
wear
sign
mark
appears
at the tire slip
sign
location
(A
position).
When
the slip
sign
comes out, the
lire
becomes
slippery and
it is
dangerous.
Replace the
tire
with a
new
one.

When driving
on an
expressway,
check the
groove
depth.

Check the surface
of
tread
for
any
abnormal
wear.

you

the
wheel
nuts
for
looseness
with
the
wheel
nut wrench.
2. There are two kinds of wheel; one is
SAE type, the other
is ISO
type.
There is
a difference on
how
to check tightness
between
SAE type and
ISO
type. Refer to below on how to check
each
wheel.

1.
Check
to see
if
the
coolant
level
in
the
reserve tank is sufficient.
lf
the
level
is
between
"LOW'
and
'FULL',
the level
is
normal.
lf
the coolant
level is low, first check to
see that there
is
no leakage of
the
coolant
in
the
cooling system
and add coolant
up to
the'FULL'line.

A
sudden
drop
in
the coolant
level
indicates that
there
may be
a water leak
in
the cooling
system.
Have
your
inspected and maintenance at

Replenishment of
coolant
is done
from the
reserve
tank.
Do not
open
the
radiator cap.
Check the coolant
level
and
add the
coolant
while the
engine
is cold.

Open
the front
panel
and check to see amount
of
window
washer solution.
lf
the
amount
of window
washer
solution
is
insufficient, open the
cap
and replenish the
solution.

wipe ofl the oil.

driving,

is within
the

zone,
it

the
tail lamp
lights
are on
when
the
lighting
switch
is
turned
on.
Also,
check
to see if
the
brake
lamp lights
are
on
when
the
brake
pedal
is
depressed.

Reverse
lamp
Check
to see if
the reverse lamp is
turned
on and
the
buzzer
sounds
when
the
gear
shift
lever
is
placed
in
the
"R'position.
However,
the
buzzer
will
not
sound
when the
tail
lamps

As
the vehicle
is
equipped
wilh
an air dryer,
normally
there is
no
water in the
air
tank.
However,
when
the
temperature
in
the
air
tank
fall
more
than
16'C{61"
F}
(case
where
the
air is filled
in
the daytime
and draining
is done
early in
the
morning), a little bit
of water will
be coming
out
from
the
exhaust
port.
This is
not abnormal.
3.
lf
much water
or
any
oil
is
drained
when
inspecting,
the
chemical
drying
agent
in
your
vehicle's
air
dryer
has
probably
lost
its
effectiveness.
ln
this
case,
contact
your
authorized
HINO
dealer immediately
for inspection
of
the air dryer
and
replacement
of the
drying
agent.

is not
due to the
fluid leakage.

is

Simultaneously
with
the
extinction
of
the
preheat
indicator
lamp
(within
5 seconds), fully
depress
the
clutch
pedal
and
the accelerator pedal,
turn
the
starter
key
to the
"ST"
position
and
start
the
engine.

As
the
pre-heater
consume
a
greal
deal
of
electric
power,
avoid
repeated
operation
as
far
as
possible
because
it
will
impose
a
great
burden
on
batteries.
.
Function

parking
brake
1.
Lever
stroke
of
center
parking
brake
1)
Pull
the
parking
brake
lever
slowly
from
the released
state.
Check the lever
stroke
by
listening
to the number
of
clicks
while
pulling.
Standard
limit
of
the
lever
stroke
is
3-6
click-
2)
When
the
lever
stroke
exceeds
the limit,
adjust
the
lever
stroke
at
your
authorized
H|NO
dealer.

1)
From
the
release
state,
pull
up
the
parking
brake lever
untll
it is
locked
and
check
the
exhaust
noise
(air
bleeding
noise)
when it
is
operated.

Windshield damage and stain
1.
Check
to
see
from
the
cockpit
if
there
is any
damage and
stain on
the
windshield.
.
Spraying condition of window washer solution
and
wiper blade condition
1.
Check if
the
window
washer
and
wiper
operate
normally.
1) Operate
window washer, and
check
if
the
window
washer
solution
is
sprayed
to the
windshield. The
window washer solution
is not sprayed
to
the
windshield
if
the
spray hole
is
clogged.
ln
this case,
remove
any
foreign
stuff
from
the
spray hole. Still
if it
doesn't
work, there might be
something
wrong with
the
motor.
Have
your
vehicle
check
and
repair
at
your
authorized
HINO
dealer.

Operation

Turn
on
the
wiper
switch and check the
operation.
Check
the
wiper
operation
at each
stages
(lNT,LO,Hl).
Use
the
window
washer
switch
when
you
check.

Condition of
wiper
blade
lf the wiper doesn't wipe
the
windshield clearly, the wiper blade might be damaged. ln
this
case, check
the
blade
and
replace
it with
a
new
one.

below
how
to
replace
it.
(1)
Raise up
the
wiper
arm
toward
you.
(2)
Loosen
two screws, remove
wiper
blade
and replace
it
with
a
new
blade.
