MARKET ANALYSIS:

Key benchmark indices edged lower to settle at two-week low in choppy trade as European stocks fell

after Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke on Wednesday, 12 December 2012, warned of the US

fiscal-cliff impact.

The BSE Sensex was down 126 points or 0.65% to 19,229.26, its lowest closing level since 29

November 2012.

S&P CNX Nifty was down 36.50 points or 0.62% to 5,851.50, its lowest closing level since 29

November 2012.

From the 30-share Sensex pack, 22 stocks fell while rest of them rose.

ndex heavyweight and cigarette maker ITC shed 3.83% at Rs 294.15 on profit booking. The stock's

intraday high matched a record high of Rs 306.20 hit on Wednesday, 12 December 2012. Hindustan

Unilever (HUL) fell 1.86%, with the stock extending Wednesday's 2.65% losses triggered by concerns

the company will face higher royalty payments to Unilever PLC. Capital goods stocks reversed intraday gains. Punj Lloyd, BEML, Thermax, and ABB dropped by between 0.16% to 4.24%..
