    The DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) is a filter for the fine particles emittedby combustion. It is not subject to maintenance since the engine controlunit periodically “commands” the particle combustion process to clean it(reconditioning) by emitting more diesel. During the process of particlecombustion in the filter, the gas reaches a temperature of 650° C, overheatingthe filter. Even during normal operation there is brief “natural”reconditioning that involves overheating the exhaust line. Therefore, it isrecommended not to park the vehicle on easily flammable materials(dry grass and leaves, paper, flammable liquids, etc.) Follow the plan ofscheduled maintenance scrupulously: regular maintenance is the bestguarantee for safe operation and for keeping operating costs as low as possible.Such operations are compulsory during the warranty period. Failureto carry them out will invalidate the warranty.

    DPF = automatic (spontaneous regeneration)

    Driving - Transmission

    • Six (6) speed manual transmission

    • Four (4) ratios transfer box

    = 24 ratios in total

    Nominal Driving:

    Highway = 1:1 green lever & 1:1 red lever

    Forestry Road / Heavy Towing = 1:1.3 green lever & 1:1 red lever

    Low Range = 1:1 green lever & 1:3 red lever

    Lowest Range = 1:1.3 green lever & 1:3 red lever (100:1 final drive ratio in 1st gear)

    *Only select low reduction gear (red lever) when stationary

    *The mid ratio (green lever) can be shifted above 1500rpm with clutch in. Ideal for towing.

    Driving – Diff Locks • Three (3) diff locks

    • In sequence = centre, rear then front

    • Centre = 50:50 drive split front & rear (also disengages ABS & ESP for better stopping distance off-road) EBD and Hill Holder remain active.

    • Rear = cross lock

    • Front = cross lock (alarm buzzer)

    *Only select diff locks when nominallystationary. If diff locks don’t engage or disengage straight away, slightly manoeuvre vehicle forward or reverse to realign.

    *The diff locks will disengage at certain speeds to protect vehicle

    Water Fording

    In order to prevent serious damage to the vehicle:

    Before driving through a ford, disengage the engine radiator fan by pressing the button (1).

    A buzzer will indicate this operation has been completed. Once the ford has been passed, re-engage the fan by once again pressing the button (1).

    The buzzer will deactivate informing the driver that it has been engaged correctly.
