1. Overview

1.1. Scope

The DAB-USB-A9260-WLS-WIFI is a daughter board for the USB-A9260. It is populated with a micro-SD socket, a real time clock with battery backup and a 40 pin receptacle connector for the EZURiO Wireless LAN module.This daughter board allows the user to increase the storage capacity, maintain the time&date up-to-date and implement a wireless communication.

1.2. DAB-USB-A9260-WLS-WIFI

The board is equipped with:

● 1x micro SD socket● 1x RTC (M41T94) with battery backup● 1x 40 pins connector for the EZURiO Wireless LAN module (WISM)

1. Setting Up the DAB-USB-A9260-WLS-WIFI1.1. Electrostatic Warning

The DAB-USB-A9260-WLS-WIFI board is shipped in protective anti-static packaging. The board must not be subjected to high electrostatic potentials. A grounding strap or similar protective device should be worn when handling the board. Avoid touching the component pins or any other metallic element.

1.2. Requirements

In order to use the DAB-USB-A9260-WLS-WIFI daughter board, the following items are needed:

● The DAB-USB-A9260-WLS-WIFI itself.● The USB-A9260 key

1.4. Powering Up the Board

The DAB-USB-A9260-WLS-WIFI is powered by the +5V provided by the USB port and a small on board +3.3V regulator.

1.5. Getting Started

The DAB-USB-A9260-WLS-WIFI is intended to be used with the USB-A9260. All the devices available on the DAB-USB-A9260-WLS-WIFI daughter board are supported by the linux kernel. In order to use the daughter board you have to apply a small patch on the linux kernel source and modify the default linux kernel configuration. The patch for the DAB-USB-A9260-WLS-WIFI daughter board is available on the calao FTP site.
