What does the Information Center (IC) do?
giving general information about possibilities of studying or
researching in Germany
giving information about DAAD scholarships and scholarships of
other German organisations
assisting application candidates in the application process and in
preparing their stay in Germany
organizing the application process of
applicants in the Czech Republic
advising German and Czech
universities in the process of scientific
cooperation

Study and Research in Germany
In Germany, there is the possibility to receive a scholarship
from various organizations. In addition to the DAAD various
other institutions award scholarships.

Opportunity to realize an educational or research stay at a German
university or a non-university research institute in Germany
Condition: preexisting research project or educational plan agreed to by
the visited German institution
Duration: 1 – 6 months (application deadline: May 1st)
7 – 10 months, 3 – 4 years (November 15th)
Value: 750 to 1000 EUR per month + insurance, travel allowance,
language course, …

Minimum academic degree: Ph.D. or CSc.
Research stays at German universities or research institutes in

Duration: 1 – 3 months
Value: 2000 EUR – 2150 EUR (professors) per month + travel
allowance
Study visits for academics – artists and architects
For university teachers of:
Architecture (Interior Design, Monument Conservation, Urban Planning /
Urban Development, Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture, Landscape
Planning)
Fine Art, Film, Design / Visual Communication
Performing Arts (Drama, Direction, Musicals, Dance, Performance Studies,
Choreography, etc.)
Music
Study visits at a German university for artistic cooperation
Duration: 1 – 3 months
Value: 2000 EUR – 2150 EUR (professors) per month + travel allowance
Re-invitation programme for
former scholarship holders
For former holders of DAAD research or study scholarships, who were
funded for a period of six months or longer
Research and working projects at German universities or research
institutes in Germany
Working stays at an institution in business, administration, culture or media
(for former scholarship holders, who work outside the science sector)
Duration: 1 – 3 months
Value: 2000 EUR – 2150 EUR (professors) per month + travel allowance
Language tests onDaF and onSet
Proof of German (onDaF) and English (onSet) language skills
Sufficient for the application for a DAAD scholarship if requested
Taking the test is free for applicants for DAAD scholarships
Test Centers: Prague, Brno, Hradec Králové, České Budějovice
Online test also possible in Liberec
