INTRODUCTION

1.0 General

The DA20-C1 Eclipse and DA20-C1 Evolution are made by Diamond Aircraft Industries found at 1560 Crumlin

Side Road in London, Ontario, Canada.

The Illustrated Parts Catalogue can be used to identify parts and optional equipment, assemble and

installation of parts for the DA20-C1 Eclipse and DA20-C1 Evolution.

This IPC does not identify parts for the Teledyne Continental Motors IO-240B3B engine. Only parts

manufactured by Diamond Aircraft for installation on the engine will be identified in the IPC. For data on spare

or replacement parts for the engine, please refer to the Teledyne Continental Motors Parts Catalogue.

2.0 Catalogue Configuration

This Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC) is written using the regulations of the Air Transport Association of

America, Specification 100 (ATA 100). Each system is given a chapter number from the ATA 100.

The AECMA Simplified English Specification has been used in writing this IPC. This is a mandatory

requirement of the Air Transport Association of America, Specification 100 (ATA 100).

There are only three sources of words available to use in Simplified English (SE):

Approved words from the SE Guide with defined meanings and selected parts of speech.

Technical names as defined in the SE Guide used only as adjectives or nouns.

Manufacturing processes as defined in the SE Guide are always used as verbs.

4.0 Record of Revisions

The Illustrated Parts Catalogue has a Revision List. Use the Revision List to show when changes wereincluded in the Illustrated Parts Catalogue.

5.0 Serial Number Ranges

Some hardware was changed or replaced during the production of the aircraft. The starting aircraft serial

number and the ending aircraft serial number for the hardware can be found in the two columns on the right

side of the item list.

An additional drawing and part list is done for a part that was replaced by a new version. Refer to the correct

drawing and item list for the serial number of the aircraft.

Some parts are optional and can not be used on every aircraft. The starting aircraft serial number for the part

can be found in the two columns on the right side of the part list for the drawing. The word OPTIONAL will be

above the page number at the bottom of the page. The first aircraft serial number the part can be used in will

be found to the right of the word OPTIONAL.

INTRODUCTION

1.0 General

This chapter tells you how to use the Illustrated Parts Catalogue.

The AIR TRANSPORT ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA (ATA) Manual Specification 100 shows you how to

prepare Maintenance Manuals and Illustrated Parts Lists. This Illustrated Parts Catalogue agrees with the

ATA 100.

The Illustrated Parts Catalogue has three sections:

General

Numerical Index

Illustrated Parts Catalogue Chapters 00 to 80 plus an additional chapter for DA20-C1 modifications for

USAF Academy requirements.

The Table of Contents gives the Chapter Numbers and Headings. There is a little title page at the start of each

chapter. The number and title of the chapter is on the title page.

2.0 The ATA 100 Numbering System

The ATA 100 numbering system uses three pairs of numbers, for example:

The first pair of numbers shows the system. In ATA 100, System 57 is the Wings. In the Illustrated PartsCatalogue, Chapter 57 contains the data for the wings.

The second pair of numbers shows the subsystem. In ATA 100, Subsystem 50 is the Flaps. In the IllustratedParts Catalogue, Section 50 contains the data for the flaps installation.

The third pair of numbers shows a Unit. A unit could be the flap structure.

A. Column 1 ITEM

Column 1 gives the item numbers of the illustration. The figure-number of the illustration is given in

column 1 with the first item number only. For example: 1-1 shows Figure 1, Item 1. All item numbers afterItem 1 have three digits with leading zeros where necessary. The item numbers usually go in steps of 10

to allow revision. Sometimes larger steps are used between assemblies and sub-assemblies.

Alternate parts, parts changed by Service Bulletin or select from range items can be shown by a letter

after the item number.

B. Column 2 PART NUMBER

Column 2 gives the part number or the identification number of the part (e.g. 22-5510-20-05). This number

could also be a standard number (e.g. MS21044-N4) or it could be the part number used by the part

supplier (e.g. CD-122-4020).

C. Column 3 NOMENCLATURE

(1) Names

Column 3 gives the English name (nomenclature) of the part. For items not made by Diamond Aircraft

Industries, the name of the supplier is shown.

(2) Indentation

Each main assembly is at the left of the column. Sub-assemblies and parts for the assembly are indented.

Further sub-assemblies and lower parts are indented again. The numbers 1 to 6 in the heading for column

three show the level of indentation.

(3) Attaching Parts

Attaching parts for each assembly, sub-assembly or part are shown immediately after the assembly, sub-

assembly or part which they attach. Attaching parts have the same indentation level as the assembly, sub-

assembly or part which they attach. The words ****Attaching Parts are shown before the first attaching

part and the words ****End of Attaching Parts is shown after the last attaching part.

(4) Handed Assemblies

Where two handed assemblies use common parts (for example the left and right main landing gear) the

left assembly has an odd item number. The right assembly has an even item number, usually one greater

than the left assembly. For example:

Where two or more assemblies use many common parts, each assembly is numbered in the usual way.

Parts which apply to only one assembly are shown below that assembly, indented in the usual way.

Common parts are listed after the parts for the last assembly. The words ****Parts for Items xxx, xxx, xxx

are shown before the first common part. If a part is common to two or more assemblies, but not all, the

words ****Items xxx only are shown after the item. For example, three bonding leads are Items 010, 020

(6) Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives

The words (Pre/Post-SB/AD xx)show the applicability of a Service Bulletin or Airworthiness Directive.

D. Column 4 UNITS PER ASSY

Column 4 gives the quantity of each part that is necessary to build one next higher assembly.

Example 1: Attaching parts with same indentation level Item 020, Aileron Hinge Bracket Assembly,

Quantity 6. There is one machine screw, Item 030, used to hold each Aileron Hinge Bracket Assembly.

The total quantity of machine screws is 6 x 1 = 6.

Note: Where the attaching parts are for two or more items, the quantity shown is the total for all items

shown in the related ****Attaching Parts for Items xxx, xxx.

Where the parts are common for more than one assembly, the UNITS PER ASSY column shows the

quantity of parts required to build one of each of the next higher assemblies.

If you see A/Rin the UNITS PER ASSY column, use the quantity of this item (e.g. sealant, lockwire) that

is necessary for this assembly.

If you see RFin the UNITS PER ASSY column, the item is shown for reference purposes only. There are

two uses:

Diamond Aircraft Industries, Inc. does not supply this assembly as ONE item. You must assemble

the RF item from many parts. For example, the complete fuel system is an RF item, but you can

order the parts which make the fuel system.

RF can also show that the item is given in another list and shown here for reference purposes only.

E. Column 5 START S/N

The aircraft serial number from which the part is applicable. For example, FROM S/N 0006.

F. Column 6 END S/N

The aircraft serial number up to which the part is applicable. For example, TO S/N 0150.

10.0 Part Orders

When you order parts, you must give the name of the system and its chapter number or you must give the

sub-system with its section number.

You must also give this data:
