About DIA 2016The DIA 2016 52nd Annual Meeting is the largest global multidisciplinary event that brings together a community of life sciences professionals at all levels and across all disciplines each June, with a common goal to foster innovation that will lead to the development of safe and effective medical products and therapies to patients.

The DIA 2016 52nd Annual Meeting will: • Provide a global unbiased platform to raise the level of discussion to facilitate innovation that will change the future of health care • Provide comprehensive coverage of the full development and life cycle management of process for all health care products • Offer a holistic and integrated approach to the development life cycle management of regulated health care products

The DIA 2016 52nd Annual Meeting provides the best opportunity to network with people from around the world, share your views and knowledge, and build new relationships.

General Submission RequirementsPlease read the following instructions carefully; incorrect or incomplete abstracts will not be considered.1. All abstracts must be submitted online to DIAglobal.org/Abstract. See page 5 for abstract templates to help you to prepare your

abstract in advance. •ThedeadlineforabstractsubmissionsisTuesday,October6,11:59PMET. This deadline will not be extended.

2. Submitted abstracts must be fair, balanced, and free of commercial bias. Please review DIA’s Policy Concerning Promotion of Products and Services from the Podium at DIA-sponsored Programs.

3. Proposed abstract title must reflect the abstract content accurately and concisely.4. Co-presenters will not be allowed.5. PowerPoint presentations are due to DIA by Thursday, June 9, 2016 for Program Committee/Chair review. If your abstract is

accepted, please mark your calendars with this deadline.6. Applicable abstract authors will receive a one day complimentary registration for the day of their scheduled presentation. A special

upgrade full registration fee will be made available for those interested in attending the entire Annual Meeting (Monday, June 26—Thursday, June 30, 2016).

Program Development Timeline for Accepted AbstractsNote as the timeline is changing, accepted abstracts will need to meet the following deadlines:

Week of December 21, 2015 Notifications to be sent to abstract submitters December 21, 2015 Speakers Corner opens for Chairs to confirm title, description, learning objectives and level of difficulty January 18, 2016 Chairs to confirm details and speaker names to be included in program content release March 1, 2016 Last day to request an FDA speaker

Abstract Selection Criteria Your abstract should be:• Non-promotional• Innovative, relevant, creative, and well suited to the interest areas and overall objectives of the DIA Annual Meeting• Well written and inclusive of balanced perspectives and/or a global perspective, if relevant• Providing specific details as to what will be presented• Have a brief title and summary that are compelling and attractive to potential attendees

Required Documentation for all AbstractsParticipant Disclosure Information All abstract authors must disclose any relevant financial relationships with any commercial interest associated with this activity that exist or have existed within the past 12 months, as well as any discussion of unlabeled or unapproved use of drugs or devices. If you are proposing an abstract on behalf of the author, as the submitter you will not be asked to disclose. However, should the abstract be accepted, the author will be informed that he or she must complete and submit a Participant Disclosure in order to participate in the program.

All submitters and authors must agree to the DIA Speaker Authorization for Use of Presentation Materials in order for the abstract to be a part of the program. Speaker slide presentations will be available on DIA’s website for attendee download after the meeting.

Abstract Notification: Week of December 21The status of each abstract will be released no later than the week of December 21.

DIA and the Annual Meeting Program Committee reserve the right to request authors to revise their abstracts or change the format of the presentation to fit the needs of the program. Potential revisions include direction of topic, blending with another submission, or revising the proposed level of difficulty.

Are you submitting on behalf of the AUTHOR?If you are submitting multiple abstracts for individuals in your organization, you will be noted as the SUBMITTER. At the time of submitting, you will be able to identify the onsite contact or AUTHOR of the abstract. The SUBMITTER will be contacted regarding the status of the abstract should the abstract be accepted. The AUTHOR will be the onsite chair or presenter.

Types of AbstractsListed below are the different types of abstracts available for the DIA 2016 52nd Annual Meeting Program. Please select one for your submission. Each abstract has its own format and structure and cannot be altered. Please note: internet connectivity is not available in the meeting room nor will remote presentations be allowed.

SESSION

Lecture style presentations delivered from podium; may be 60 or 75 minutes. Abstract author is considered the chair and will be responsible for:

• Adhering to the program development guidelines and timelines

• Recruiting speakers and ensuring good representation/diversity in their selection. Please note that the Annual Meeting has a global focus, and therefore the session should be globally oriented.

• Communicating with speakers regarding their role in the session and reviewing presentation materials (note: PowerPoint presentations are required from each speaker)

• Managing the session, including the facilitation of audience questions and answers from the podium.

At the time of submitting a session abstract, please indicate at least one individual who will be invited to participate in the offering. Please do not extend an invitation until a formal response from DIA has been received.

fORuM

Designed for panel interaction and attendee engagement; may be 60 or 75 minutes. Abstract author is considered the chair and will be responsible for:

• Adhering to the program development guidelines and timelines

• Recruiting panel participants and ensuring good representation/diversity in their selection. Please note that the Annual Meeting has a global focus, and therefore the session should be globally oriented.

• Communicating with panel members regarding their role in the forum and reviewing any presentation materials, although PowerPoint presentations are not required

• Managing the forum, including the facilitation of audience questions and answers from the podium.

pRESENTATION

20-minute presentation, bundled with other presentations to create a symposium (similar format to session or forum). Abstract author is considered the presenter (co-presenters are not permitted) and will be responsible for:

• Adhering to the program development guidelines and timelines

• Working with chair and other presenters in creating a balanced program offering

• Preparing and delivering a PowerPoint presentation.

WORkSHOp

Hands-on learning with a focus on application; may be 75 minutes with room setup of round tables. Abstract author is considered the chair and will be responsible for:

• Adhering to the program development guidelines and timelines

• Recruiting facilitators, ensuring good representation/diversity in their selection

• Ensuring the workshop provides onsite learning in the form of activities or demonstrations, including handouts

• Communicating with facilitators regarding their role in the workshop and reviewing any presentation materials, although PowerPoint presentations are not required

• Managing the workshop which will have limited attendance because of room setup (approximately 75-100 attendees), as well as facilitation of audience questions and answers.
