1 Introduction

The project’s web presence has had an initial launch in the first day of the project, June 1st 2017, and it will be continuously updated with new content. In Section 2, we present the website details, as well as the analytics and technology that will support the website during project duration.

Regarding the communication plan, stakeholder profiles have been identified, and initial communication means, strategy and guidelines are described. Section 3 describes this communication plan.

Finally, Section 4 provides the planned dissemination activities that include conferences and publications, white papers, workshops, demonstrations, hackathons, standards, open source communities and 5G activities.

Finally, we conclude with a list of KPIs regarding 5GTANGO communication and dissemination activities.

3 Communication Plan

3.1 Stakeholders NFV has caused a disruptive shift for all actors in the classic telecommunications value chain along with their business models; as it has opened the door to new actors, such as software developers or vertical industries.

5GTANGOS’s focus is aimed at the whole value chain of the telecom sector and it expands in order to reach other groups and communities (including vertical industries) that are critical to create the widest impact possible with the project results. Figure 6 illustrates the simplified value chain of 5GTANGO and where each of the partners is placed in it.

Figure 6 5GTANGO´s Value chain and partners roles in the industry

• Network Operators: Immediate partner networks of Altice Labs and Telefónica. Telco partners are interestered in the V&V Framework, as well as the Service Platform. We can engage with them in industry events.

• Network Equipment Vendors: NEC, Nokia and Huawei. Partners are active in key industry groups such as TMForum and ETSI NFV ISG, regularly attend industry events, and will represent 5GTANGO at such venues as Layer123 SDN & NFV World Congress, and the Mobile World Congress.

• Supporting IT Industry (ISVs, IT Providers, System Integrators): The industry partners are also leaders in the IT industry as a whole, and are established stakeholders in areas in the immediate proximity of networks, such as cloud computing, virtualisation, service provision, security, etc. ATOS is a large system integrator and cloud provider to a variety of customer segments. With the convergence of IT, telcos and vendors also have strong partnerships with IT providers across Europe.

• SME Developers: SME partners UBI, SYN and EGM. SME can be engaged through Hackathons, Plugtests or Interoperability Tests.

• Vertical Industries: Weidmüller and Nurogames. These verticals shall be engaged through the placement of End-to-End solutions.

• Open Source Communities: the partners also position 5GTANGO strategically with open source projects & communities.

• Standards Groups: Partners have active connections with key standards groups for the project, such as ETSI’s NFV and TMForum’s ZOOM.

• 5G-PPP Collaboration: 5GTANGO will actively collaborate in the clustering activities of 5G-PPP, Networld2020 ETP and 5G Infrastructure Association, and considers them priority dissemination targets for 5GTANGO development and results. Initial working group participation includes the Software Networks and Architecture.

• Scientific and Academic: Partners UPB, NCSRD, IMEC, CTTC and UPRC have substantial scientific and academic networks. Targeted conferences include: ACM SIGCOMM, CoNEXT and HotNets; IEEE NetSoft, INFOCOM, GLOBECOM and ICC; IFIP/IEEE IM, NOMS and CNSM; USENIX NSDI; Layer123 (SDN&NFV), EuCNC and the MPLS SDN World Congress. 5GTANGO project members are directly involved in the organization of some of the above established conferences. Partners will also organize special sessions/workshops at these and other large international conferences to promote project work and position project achievements with regard to emerging scientific areas related to the project’s themes, new business opportunities and technological trends. Book chapters related to the project research items will be pursued as a means to externalize project work and to document the advances on the state of the art achieved by the project. To complement its peer-reviewed scientific publications, the project will also produce white papers on best practice, innovation, integration and entrepreneurship, to be provided to industry and the wider public.

• Wider Public: Communication actions will include public policy (e.g. Digital Agenda), and consumers outside of the technical knowledge of the project, expanding the 5GTANGO marketing to speak to a wider audience. Both industry and academic partners have the experience and marketing departments to carry these actions.

3.2 Communication objectives 5GTANGO communication objectives are the following:

• Achieve measurable impact through successful penetration of 5GTANGO results

towards stakeholder communities (see conclusions).

• Create ongoing and valuable engagement with telco industry stakeholders.

• Encourage stakeholders to evaluate, adopt and extend 5GTANGO’s open-source

results.

3.3 Strategy • Year 1: 5GTANGO network establishment in order to start creating awareness

regarding its scope and objectives. Dissemination activities: content marketing,

marketing material, events, conferences and workshops, publications, 5G PPP

collaboration.

• Year 2: Engagement with industry stakeholders and open source and standards

communities to build a base of interest and support for the project. First results of

the project available for initial feedback to push back to development cycles in sync

with releases schedule. Dissemination activities: content marketing, marketing

material, events, conferences and workshops, publications, 5G PPP collaboration,

press and media, demos.

• Year 3: Pilots and help to stakeholders with early uptake of the final release.

Dissemination activities: content marketing, marketing material, events,

conferences and workshops, publications, 5G PPP collaboration, press and media,

demos, pilots.

3.4 Key messages 5GTANGO is a 5GPPP Phase2 Innovation Action.

5GTANGO enables the flexible programmability of 5G networks with:

a) an NFV-enabled Service Development Kit (SDK);

b) a Store platform with advanced validation and verification mechanisms for

VNFs/Network Services qualification (including 3rd party contributions);

c) a modular Service Platform with an innovative orchestrator in order to bridge the

gap between business needs and network operational management systems.

5GTango addresses industry-specific markets.

5 Conclusions

This deliverable has introduced 5GTANGO project website and communication plan. In order to properly evaluate the communication and dissemination activities, we have established the following Table 4, which provides the main envisaged communication and dissemination activities for 5GTANGO, as well as the KPIs that will back up and add quantitative metrics to the campaign. It should be noted that this should be considered a live-table, which will be updated and developed throughout the project life.
