2SafetyThischaptercontainsimportantsafetyinstructions.Youmustread,understand,andcomply withallofthesesafetyinstructionsinordertoprotectbothpersonsandproperty.Thebenefits ofasafeinstallationincludeincreasedusability,reliability,andreduceddamagetothePTU, payload,and/orotherproperty.
2.1 SafetyWarningsandCautions PTUD48installationandsetupshouldbeonlybeperformedbyqualifiedpersonnel. Theinstallationmustcomplywithallapplicablecodes(suchasbuildingcodes,marinesafety codes,etc.). Theinstallationmustbefreeofobstructionsthroughouttheentirerangeofpantiltmotion. Whenplanningtheinstallation,makesuretotakethepayloadintoaccounttoensurethat thePTUD48andpayloadremainunobstructedatalltimes. Allmountingmethodsandmaterialsmustbecapableofsupportingatleastfourtimesthe combinedweightofthePTUD48,mountedpayloads,andcabling. Corrosionresistanthardware(suchasstainlesssteelscrews)mustbeusedforalloutdoor installations. DonotinstallthePTUD48inanylocationthatexceedsthePTUD48senvironmental specifications. Alwaysincorporateareadilyaccessiblepowerdisconnectintotheinstallationwiring.(See Sections3.4and3.5.) Removingpowerbydisconnectingthepowercableorcableharnessisnotrecommended andcanresultindamagetothesystem. VerifythatthepayloadwillclearthePTUD48housingandallsurroundingobjects throughouttheentirerangeofmotion. ThePTUD48isratedforamaximumloadof15lbs;however,loaddistributionaffectsthe actualweightthatthePTUD48cansafelymove.Theamountoftorqueneededtomovea payloaddependsonanumberoffactorssuchaspayloadweight,distancefromthepayload CGtothecenterofrotation,accelerationandspeedsettings,powerlevels,environmental factors,etc. ThePTUD48allowsfullcontroloveracceleration,speed,andpowerlevels.Mountyour payloadandconfiguretheseparametersappropriatelytoensurereliableoperation.
