 WORKING PRINCIPLE

Any movement of the steel cable due to a

displacement between transducer box and

target produces a rotation of the

potentiometer and therefore an electric

signal strictly proportional to the

displacement.

To keep the steel cable loaded a tensioning

device (balancer) is used. The stroke of the

balancer is 2 m and the loading capacity

can be up to 8 kg. The catenary of the cable

has to be minimised by careful selection of

cable size and tension. One turn of the

potentiometer corresponds roughly to

240 mm of displacement.

The reading of the potentiometer re-zero

after each rotation (dead angle of 5 dg

nominal).

electromagnetic compatibility according to EN 61326-1 and EN 61326-A1 directives for EMC emission and immunity

(1) One turn of potentiometer corresponds roughly to 240mm of displacement. The readingof the potentiometer re-zero after each rotation (dead angle of 5° nominal). The catenary ofthe wire has to be minimised by careful selection of wire size and tension.(2) The stainless steel cover protect the internal transducer from powerful jet of water.
