DESCRIPTION: I started early in the morning to avoid the traffic and had to cover more then 300 kms to reach Pandharpur .The weather was fine and it became cooler as I entered the ghats. With the clouds hovering above, it started to drizzle and hence my first stop due to the rains.I had to take the old Mumbai highway as two wheelers are not allowed on the express way.The road signs constantly lead you towards the expressway and I had to confirm at regular intervals to maintain the old one. The road leading to the temple is on the right ,1.5 kms from the main road.

Varad vinayak is one of the ashtavinayak temples .It is located in the Mahad village of Karjat. This is the only temple where devotees are allowed to personally pay their Homage and respects to the idol. They are allowed in the immediate vicinity of the idol to perform their prayers. After attending the Aarti I left for Pune.

Since I was crossing pune right through the heart of it, I thought of visiting another Ganesh temple known as Trishund mayureshwar ganapati temple. With lush greenery thanks to the monsoons the drive till pune was pleasant and I could enjoy every bit what the mountains could offer.
