MeitY wants fresh incentives for electronics manufacturersThe ministry of electronics and information technology (MeitY) has proposed freshincentives to boost electronics manufacturing in India after three major schemes endedlast year. The proposals include 4-6% interest rate subsidy on loans for new investments,renewal of the electronic manufacturing cluster (EMC) scheme and waiver of collateralfor loans taken to set up machinery.

The department has started this year a new course Bachelor of Vocation (B. Voc) in ElectronicManufacturing Services (EMS), a 3 year undergraduate course with intake of 25. Vocational orskill-based education is gaining more importance in India providing adequate skills required fora particular work or trade to the candidate. Course deals more with practical and applicationbased studies rather than focusing on theoretical knowledge.
INSIDE THIS ISSUE:
Electronic manufacturing industry in India needs to grow at a muchfaster pace due to the ever increasing demand for consumer electronics,IT and telecom goods. Demand is expected to grow to $ 400 billion by2020. To serve this demand and a huge surge in electronics manufactu-ring in India is expected. To fulfill the need of technician proficient in electronicsmanufacturing this course will be hugely sought for students after completing the said coursewill be eligible for the post of Electronics Technician, Service Technician, Service Manager etc.

AUTOMATIC PLANT WATERING SYSTEM WITH MELODYIn our usual busy routine, one of the reasons for people hesitating to keep plants at their homeis that people forget to water them every day. To solve this issue here is a circuit that is usefulfor watering plants automatically without any human effort. This circuit automatically watersthe plants every day in the morning for the watering duration that the user has set. Want one?You can build one for yourself in just a few hours.

IC1 configured as monostable. The 555 timer acts as a“one-shot” pulse generator. The pulse begins at theoutput pin 3 when the 555 timer receives a signal at thetrigger input pin 2 and that falls below a 1/3 of thevoltage supply. The width of the output pulse isdetermined by the time constant of an R2 and C1. Theoutput pulse ends when the voltage on the capacitorequals 2/3 of the supply voltage. This is determined bythe relationship T = 1.1R*C.
C O N S T R U C T I O N A N D T E S T I N G . . .Assemble the circuit on a common PCB and enclose it in a suitable box. Connect the Batteries B1 and B2. Affix LDR at a suitablelocation such that sunlight falls on it directly. Adjust the VR1 for appropriate output. Select the DIP switch in appropriateposition for the desired watering duration.

Papers Published/ PresentedDr. Naveen Kumar Dewangan has published a paper with Title “Automatic detection of Malaria Parasite from blood image using Matlab” in thejournal 'International Journal of Innovative Research in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation and Control Engineering'. Mrs. Suchitra Pandey has presented a paper with title “Improved criterion for Stability Analysis of Discrete-Time system subject to saturationNon-linearities and variable time lags” at IEEE 1st International Conference on Energy, Systems and Information Processing during 4th -5thJuly, 2019 at, IITDM, Kancheepuram, Chennai. Mrs. Suchitra Pandey has presented another paper with title “Stability of uncertain 2-D discrete systems in presence of generalized overflowNon-linearities” at Ist International Conference on Innovations in Power, Energy and Intelligent Control systems, during 8th -10th August, 2019at Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology & Research Institute, Guntur, Hyderabad. The paper was selected as the best paper in theconference. STTPs/WorkshopsMrs. Suchitra Pandey also attended a short term course on “Matrix Inequalities and its applications" organised by NIT, Uttarakhand at itssatellite campus NIT, Jaipur during 22nd -26th July, 2019. Mr. Pushpendra Singh was the coordinator of a one day workshop on eSim, organised by Teaching Learning Centre (ICT) at IIT Bombay on21st September, 2019 sponsored by PMMMNMTT at National level.Mr. R. M. Potdar, Dr. Arun Sahu, Mr. Anil Mishra, Mrs. Vinni Sharma, Mrs. Swati Agrawal, Mrs. Suchitra Pandey, Mrs.Tanuja Kashyap, Mr. Prabhakar, Mr. D. Reynolds, Mrs. Kiran Dewangan and Mrs. Dolly Gautam attended the eSim workshop. Sponsored ProjectsMrs. Ekta Tamrakar’s proposed Research Project with the title “Performance enhancement of micro-inverting solar PV power generation usingpassive filters” got approval under collaborative Research Scheme of TEQIP-III ( Phase-II) at CSVTU, Bhilai for a period of 1 year with totalgrant received Rs. 3,00,000. Dr. Arun Sahu’s proposed Research Project on the title “2D nano structure based field effect transistor as Gas Sensor, ab-initio modelling” gotapproval under collaborative Research Scheme of TEQIP-III ( Phase -II) at CSVTU, Bhilai with total grant received Rs. 1,50,000.
