In the conventional lightings, most of lights have been using SMPS.

However, SMPS has short life time compared to the LED chip because of using an electrolytic capacitor which has short life time of component.

Also, it can do nothing but bulky and heavy because of many components such as inductor or transformer.

However, RFsemi’s AC direct driving solution is method to supply AC power directly without any inductor and electrolytic capacitor. It features life time to failure more than 100,000 hours, excellent power factor, high efficacy, small size and light. Also various developments for LED lighting are possible.

The Comparison of AC Direct LED Driving Solution

AC Direct Driving for LED Lights

Nowadays, AC direct LED driving methods tend to be developed to overcome the disadvantages of conventional SMPS-type LED lightings. However, the method of other companies are the sequential lighting system through voltage sensing.

RFsemi’s simultaneous lighting system is able to greatly improve the reliability of the LED as compared with the sequential lighting system, so it’s possible to maximize the life of lights.

Also, RFsemi’s products consist of several ICs, so it has great advantage that heat is dispersed. Furthermore, it has a NTC(Negative Temperature Coefficient) characteristic. But other companies have only one IC, so heat concentrates on it.

All RFsemi’s products are possible to be controlled dimming. In particular, most standard LED dimmer & RFsemi’s 2-wire dimmer are possible to do dimming smoothly.
