Maintenance
• Regenerated accessions are stored in the Dept. of Gene Bank of CRI in Prague under climatic conditions -18°C
• Accessions are also stored in Olomouc as a working collection under -20°C
• 39 Lactuca sativa cultivars (Czech varieties as Lednický, Safír, Smaragd, Kamýk, Valašský ...) are stored as safety
duplication in Slovak Gene Bank in Piešťany

• 2006 – 2009: 165 acc. of lettuce • 2010 – 2013: 68 acc. of L. sativa, 34 acc. of wild Lactuca spp., 11
acc. of rocket, 2 acc. of chicory (total 115)
• 2005 – 2013: 28 acc., recently not priority
Priorities
• Regeneration of wild Lactuca spp. (ca 60 % of collection) including taxonomical redetermination
• Regeneration of chicory collection (ca 60 % of collection) • Insert data on evaluation to EVIGEZ database
