Good to be Back to our “NEW NORMAL”

It has been a challenge these last few months but hopefully we will be back to our New Normal and things will become easier. There have been certain changes made. The pool is open but has new guidelines. The clubhouse is open, again along with new changes also. Pickleball has been continuing, as has golf, even when other indoor activities were “on leave”. I was given the word that the Crystal Creek Luncheon will be held in July. I received a notice from Elaine Appleton and Deb Mahoney stating Chair Yoga has been cancelled permanently. For all other activities you will need to check with the chairperson. A list of chairpersons can be found on the HOA website.

Letter From the Editor Cypress Head Lines has been a significant part of the Cypress Head Community for the last 17 ½ years. It has generated a total gross income of $85,490.00 which has been donated to the Master HOA to benefit all the residents of Cypress Head. The Cypress Head Lines is, and always has been, an independent publication which most people in Cypress Head are not aware. I designed it that way so the cost of printing was paid for by the advertising. Several years ago the Master HOA was being deluged with lawsuits generated by one or two residents at the time. Being independent, nothing published in the Cypress Head Lines could be construed as an opinion of the Master HOA or any of the mini Boards. The purpose of the newsletter was to keep our residents current with HOA Board business, community social events as well as those of the various interest groups. It was never to generate large amounts of money, however, it has over the years. Thanks to the many volunteers who distributed it each month we were way ahead of the game. The only thing those many volunteers got out of the efforts was an annual party to thank them and all the other volunteers in the community. It’s time for me to “put away my pen”. After obtaining advertisers, designing many of their ads, doing all the monthly billing, and writing the news and events for the newsletter each month I am retiring. I too volunteer my time. I have sent the monthly newsletter to the printer from an overwhelming number of states, including Alaska, over the years; even before being able to send it via email. (I used “snail mail” which in some locations was a challenge) I love Cypress Head and have done my best to contribute to the community and keep the spirit of volunteerism alive and well. After spending the past couple of months at home, avoiding the Covid-19 virus, I realize how much amount of pressure and hours of work it takes to publish the monthly newsletter. I am having my 80

th birthday this summer and I would like to be able

to sit back and enjoy my life without the pressure. It is with a heavy heart that I fold up shop. I especially thank all of the people in the circulation department who have done a magnificent job for the past 17 ½ years; the newsletter would never have been the success that it has been without you. Granny’s Attic

One of the most helpful resources we have in our communi-ty is Granny’s Attic. Marianne McCormick heads it up, and has done so for years. If you are in need of a baby item (stroller, high chair, pack n play) or a health aid (crutches, canes, wheel chair or walker) Granny’s attic has that type of item for you to borrow. When a grandchild visits or you suf-fer an injury you might need to borrow something. Just call Marianne at 386-788-9238. She can help you out.

Book Club meets on the first Monday of each month, 1 p.m. in the HOA Clubhouse. All are welcome. Any ques-tions call Kathy Sciano, 760-7159. Euchre

The Euchre group meets the second and fourth Friday of each month at 7:00PM at the clubhouse. Everyone is welcome. It’s a fun group, low key, and much fun. Each player brings their own beverage. If you are new to Cypress Head it is a great way to meet your new neighbors and make friends. Come and join us; we look forward to meeting you.

ARC

If you would like to contribute to our community you might want to consider submitting your name for con-sideration to serve on the ARC. (Architectural Review Committee). One opening is currently available. This is a very important committee having the responsi-bility of making sure the CC&R’s are adhered to and that proper approval is given when making any external change to your property, (house and yard). The ARC meets once a month. Tony Delmonte is the chairman, 386-760-1719.

Planning an Outdoor Project?

The Master Board has ap-proved the use of a small sign for residents to place in their yard, to indicate that an outdoor project has been approved by the ARC. It is not mandatory that the resi-dent make use of the sign, but it is desirable. In this way, the resident can let

passers-by know that they have gone through the appropriate steps to have their project approved, and will hopefully encourage others to do the same.

A Sincere Thank You I wish to thank our friends and neighbors in Cypress Head for the flowers, cards, food and especially for the prayers that were sent to us during "Scooter" Bill's illness and death. You proved again and again that we live in the best neighborhood thanks to all of you. Jan Reber

Aquacize Weather

It’s that time of year and Aquacize has returned. We meet every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at the HOA pool at 9:00 AM. Bring your “noodle” and come join us in these low impact exercises. You can exercise with no sweat and lots of friends and fun. Come join us.

Bingo

Bingo has not resumed as yet as distancing is not feasible. Please check the website to find out when it will resume. It is hoped that by September we will be able to be back to normal.

Morning Exercise

Exercise is meeting every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the HOA clubhouse at 8:15AM. Distancing is easily accomplished so please come back. If you haven’t come before we welcome you.

Great Appreciation We are so fortunate in Cypress Head to have so many people volunteer to do so many of the jobs to keep our community beautiful and to have our amen-ities looking good. Volunteers make sure the club-house is in proper order after being rented out for a private party, welcome new residents and provide appropriate information to them, check the irrigation of the common areas through out Cypress Head, approve any exterior changes to make sure they are in compliance with our CC&R’s and those who serve on our HOA boards. For those who distribute the newsletter each month to almost 600 homes in our community. We would never have the fantastic com-munity that we have with out them, and for sure our annual dues would be considerably more if we had to pay people to do these things. Thank you to all of you, we do appreciate you.

Time Change The time for the Master HOA Board meeting has been changed to 6:00PM. It will be held on the third Tuesday each month.

Social Committee Notice

The Kentucky Derby party has been tentatively scheduled for September 5 at the HOA clubhouse.

Staying Safe and Well It’s been a long few months with most everything closed, having to stay home, social distancing, and wearing a mask. If we don’t adhere to these requirements we will be right back where we were last February, March, and April. Don’t break the rules—keep your distance, wash your hands, wear a mask when out in public. This is for your safety as well as those around you. Don’t be careless and endanger others—the numbers keep going up. You can make a difference!
