Hello wonderful Key Clubbers,

School is finally out!!! Hope this year has

been amazing with many great achievements

and memories. It definitely has for me, but

most importantly I am super excited for the

summer and next year! We have a lot of fun

events and fundraisers planned, and I am sure

next year will be a blast! Get ready for a field

day, fun, and food, our June PCM/ Field day is

June 14th at Telge Park from 11am-2pm!!!!

As you all may know, the new key club year

has officially started and board positions have

been filled. I dearly congratulate each and

every individual starting from the division level,

to our lieutenant governor Amy Jiang, and our

Cy-Falls Board. These outstanding individuals

will be leading Key Club to great heights.

Interviews for next year officer positions will be

held after school starts in September.

Finally, do not forget that key club will still

be active during the summer. We will not have

regular meetings every other Wednesday, like

during the school year, but we will have

occasional member meetings/socials. This

summer will be filled with exciting events,

socials, fundraisers that will be communicated

via technology (Facebook, Reminder 101, and

Email). Please pass on the word of Key Club to

upcoming freshmen and tell them about our

Facebook page for more information.

MEET THE NEW PRESIDENT

Yours in Service,

VolunTEARing as We Say Goodbye

Annie Phan, Historian

Another year has passed and many of our key club members are

graduating. This past year, I have had the privilege of being an officer

of key club and I can honestly say I do not regret it. I’m sad to see

many of the seniors graduate and our dear president, Amy Jiang

retire her position and move on to lieutenant governor. Just thinking

about these past memories is enough to make me cry. It would be

truly a shame to just let them leave without honoring their

contributions to key club because Key Club wouldn’t be anything

without those bonds of friendship.

In spite of that, I recall one of my favorite memories of Key Club

where right before DCON, I went to go help out at a carnival being

held at a neighborhood elementary school. Despite the day being

initially cloudy, hordes of people gathered at each attraction to let

their child have fun. I’ve never been to a school carnival before so

seeing all the rides and booths was a first for me. There were so many

people and volunteers from not only Cy Falls but from other schools

as well. If you looked around though, you would see so many people

in the orange Key Club shirt from our school.

That day, I helped managed the swing station, getting children in

and out of the swings and buckling them in. The task initially was sort

of difficult because some kids were fussy or stubborn, but, I don’t think

I’ve been to an event where I enjoyed volunteering as much as this.

That’s the thing about volunteering though, you think it can’t get any

better, and instead it goes out of its way to surprise you. I finally

understand the love the former president has for Key Club after this

year.

Although I know many of us were dubious about this year of Key

Club, I think we can all safely say that this year was the most

interactive and exciting year of Key Club. And as the next school

year crawls towards us, I hope that we can all have an even better

year with the new Key Club president, Sammitha Cheruvu. So

congratulations to all the seniors of Key Club who volunteered with all

their hearts and I wish the best of luck to everyone for the next year.

May we all enjoy ourselves next year.
