OCTOBER 2016 Nordic Research and Innovation Pathways towards a Circular Bio-economy Developing a future bio-economy has become a key goal for Nordic policy-makers, across Europe – and around the world. The bio-economy is considered critical for several reasons: the need for sustainability in use of resources, the growing demand for both food and energy, and the need to decouple economic growth from environmental degradation. This conference puts emphases on cycle-thinking in technology, foresight exercises and transitions related to different aspects of the bio-economy and future challenges and possibilities for both researchers and industry. A combination of keynote presentations held by carefully selected speakers, short lightning speeches, and poster presentations from research projects, industry, government and relevant EU or Nordic funded research projects provide an interesting and interactive program. Conference participants are invited to present their work at poster sessions during the conference; deadline first submission is 3.10.2016 -short poster summary and title, and deadline final version 17.10.2016 (submit to email: [email protected]) Sign up for the conference here (or by using the following link- http://cycleweb.no/) PLACE: DGI-byen, Copenhagen, Denmark. TIME: 25. Oct. 10:00 – 26. Oct. 14:30. The conference is jointly organised by three research projects, funded by the BIONÆR programme of The Research Council of Norway. Copenhagen page 1 of 2
