. during the studies in VGTUarchitectural engineering course I'vegained architectural and engineeringknowledges, learned to desingresidential and public buildings, toselect constructional solutions. In thethird year participated in ERASMUSexchange programme, went to Italy,where students are promoted to workin groups. So I can work in a team orindependently. During the half yearI've learned Italian language andfound the study of architecture to dopractise in the summer. Thereparticipated in an architectural designcompetition of a public library situatedin an old town of Bressanone city. Igot to know heritage of architectureknowledge. The task of graduationthesis was the public library. Adjustingknowledge I got in universities andpractise work thesis was ratedexcellent.

The library is in Fabijoniskiu street, in aresidential area, developed during theyears of Soviet Union. The main aim ofthe project is to adjust a new modernlibrary to the strict volume tenementhouses.

Architectural solution:from the outside rectangularparallelepiped volume building which isintersected by prolonged pedestriantrail.

Site solution:taking into consideration that the axis ofthe Fabijoniskiu area is the pedestriantrail, surrounded by residential houses,the library in the site is pitched in usingthe opposite system - the pedestriantrail is intersecting/crossing the library.In this way the functional importance ofthe library is highlighted. A nearbyincomplete building is separated byshaping variable terrain. There are 170parking places.

Composition: intersected by prolongedpedestrian trail building is devided intotwo parts (blocks) on every floor.Ground floor. The main entrance is inthe east block. There is plannedspacious lobby and antiquarian bookmuseum. Near is situated locker -room, information desk, file - cabinet,checklist room, watcher room andinternet posts. In the west block thereare depository, technical rooms andrestaurant.First floor. The main space in the eastblock - reading room,stationary/print/copy place andrestroom. There are two passages intothe terrace. In the west block -admistration offices.Second floor. The main space in theeast block - reading room,stationary/print/copy place andrestroom. In the west block -multimedia and children literature.Third floor. The main space in the eastblock - manuals room, internet posts,stationary/print/copy place andrestroom. There are two passages intothe terrace. In the west block -conference halls.

Arrival:from Fabijoniškės housing areainhabitants reach the library by crossinga small bridge. For visitors coming fromanother city parts there is an entrancefrom the main Fabijoniškių street.Planned green zones insulate noisescoming from the street side.

Exterior:the library cube is covered using doublefacade: transparent glass andconvulted - ribbed glass. In the innerspaces there is used simpletransparent glass. From the outsideinterior is not visible because of doublefacade. Convoluted - ribbed glass isone side lightproof. It imparts dynamicto the building. In the night the colour ofglass gives green lighting.

Interior:in the inside of the library there areterraces, which composes a functionalmovement system and allow visitors toenjoy the view of nature from every partof the library. The visitors are notdisturbed by extaneous interferencesbecause the second glass is one sidelightproof.



Designing a public library in Bressanonetown it is essential condition to considerthe requirements of a competition andheritage, the context of the town.

Uncommon place of a project, in theTiroli area, town which has a typicalmedieval structure. In the area aroundthere is baroque cathedral with it'ssquare - the heart of a town.

According to the rules of competition thespaces of library are intended to be inhistorical buildings - ex-Finance Palaceand ex-Tribunal Palace.

During the process of design wassearched a proportion between majestichistorical buildings and a narrow streetBruno. It was like mediation betweentown and village.

Exterior and interior was designed inminimalism style.There are used three materials -limestone panels, travertine marble andbitumen porphyry.From the garden near the Bruno street,considering the Finance Palace waschosen a strict facade with narrowwindow.Differently, from the other side largewindows open a view to the green innergarden.From the strict facade going to the innerfacade the roof is sliding down andleaves only one floor ar the end of a wall.



The spaces were grouped inthree parts.

Administrational spaces wereplaced in Finance Palace.

Children reading room,multimedia were placed in thefirst floor of Tribunal Palace andin the first floor were placeddepositories.

In the new building were placedinformation desk, conference halland main reading rooms throughall the floors.

Project was made incollaboration with SimoneTulumello, Giovanni Ingrassia,Enrico Dusonchet, MassimoTedesco, Santi Tedesco,Alessandra Barbaro.

New modern stadium, seating capacity of35000 in Bocca di falco zone.

Due to the fact that Bocca di falco zoneis surrounded by mountains, the ideawas to design the volume of stadium ascrystal shape and for the covering tochoose a glancing material which wouldreflect the mountains and nature aroundthe stadium.Stadium according to the idea has to befragile as a crystal and strong as amountain.

For poeple to reach the stadium easyfrom various parts of town, a new streetis projected.Near the rim are planned three bigparkings. It is easy to see and to reachthem on the way to stadium.

For visitors who don't need parking ispossible to use metro line or pedestriantrail which is leading to the stadiumthrough beautiful park.

In the inner spaces there arebars, restaurants, shops, gymsand a hotel of 5 stars.

In the basement - spaces forathletes and couches, includingseparate parking for which wasprojected private ingress.

Trough all the floors there is ablock for administration andemployees.

All the seats in the stadium arecovered with poli - carbonatetopping.

Modern two - storey residential housedistinguishes for it's expressive volumeand stylish facing. The idea was todesign house of contrarieties. The firstfloor of a house is light, curved and thesecond floor is strict, massive volume.From the view of spectator houseconstruction leaves impracticableimpression. It seems that the glass isholding all the second floor heavyvolume. The vitreous facade opens theview of an inner garden and the wallsseparate private spaces from the steet.The accent of exterior - red panels ofalucobond.


Through the hall there is entrance to aliving room, which interblends into innergarden because of vitreous facade.Unique accent of the living room is stair.In the northern part of the house, in aseparate volume there is a dinning room- kitchen. Near the living room link upworkroom, cloakroom, WC, boiler - roomand garage. In the first floor there aretwo rooms fors children, bathroom,bedroom connected with it's cloakroomand bathroom.
