Intermittent Cutting

Comparison of coating surface roughnessWith an extremely smooth surface, the Black Super Even Coating provides improved surface roughness which results in excellent resistance against adhesion, abnormal damage and weld chipping.

Flat Al2O3A flat layer of Al2O3, which delivers excellent heat resistance and reduces the progress of crater wear.

Microscopic TiCNThis microscopic layer of TiCN, which is known for its high wear resistance, reduces flank wear.

Special carbide substrateA layer of unprecedented toughness has been retained thanks to newly developed technology. This prevents the propagation of cracks during intermittent cutting and ensures stable cutting.

Extremely smooth coating surface prevents abnormal damage and weld chipping.

2-in-1 technology delivers the ultimate cutting performance. The solution against crater wear

The solution against flank wear

T h e g o l d c o l o u r e d t o p f a c e delivers excellent heat and wear resistance. A special Ti compound layer also delivers extremely good heat resistance and further helps prevention of crater wear of the flat Al2O3. This makes it suitable for high speed, high efficiency machining.

The flank surfaces are coated with an extremely smooth layer to prevent abnormal wear or weld chipping. Together with the microscopic TICN coating, this smooth layer ensures better component surface finishes as well as long and consistent tool life.

*Recommended cutting conditions for 5º/7º/11º positive inserts are provided as a guideline only. Verify the recommended conditions for each boring bar as cutting conditions for internal machining will vary depending on the length of overhang.

With the introduction of the new RP breaker, the system now covers a wide range of applications from light cutting through to rough cutting.

Butterfly protrusions are optimized for different cutting conditions.

Chips curl upwards and reduce cutting resistance, resulting in improved surface finishes. The breaker protrusion is highly resistant to wear even during high-speed machining, delivering stable chip breaking for long periods of time.

Excels in copy machiningUses a sharp edge geometry that delivers excellent chip breaking when copy machining and during reverse direction face machining.

LPbreaker for light cutting

MPbreaker for medium cutting

RPbreaker for rough cutting

Ideal for small cutsThe inner side of the butterfly protrusion has a steep gradient to improve chip breaking performance when making small cuts.

Accommodates variations in cutting conditions.During copy machining, cutting conditions such as depth of cut, feed rate and cutting speed can vary greatly. MP breaker allows a broad range of cutting conditions, eliminating the need for multiple types that results in reduced inventory management.

High fracture resistanceThe cutting flute employs a strong flat-land shape and broad chip pocket to reduce chip clogging and abrupt fracturing during chamfering.

Peninsular protrusion optimised for rough cutting

For efficient chip breaking over a wide range of rough turning applications. The gradually sloped cutting face prevents chip clogging and reduces crater wear.
