I’m a professionally qualified and experienced telecommunications/data engineer with expe-rience being deployed worldwide. I have experience working as a data engineer on projects in the North East of England, installing CCTV, Wifi, Door Access and data points and also as a EPOS engineer, installing all the IT requirements for McDonalds stores nationwide.

• Terminate fibre with a wide range of interconnection devices and connector types, both hand and machine polishing techniques. Proficient in using different termination methods within the laboratory, manufacturing in field environments, achieving low reflectance and insertion loss.

• Splice all types of fibre including ribbon from standard G652 to laser enhanced speciality fibres OM1, OM2, OM3 and OS1. Experienced in a range of fusion splicers such as Fu-jikura (FSM 60s & 50s) and Fitel (123 & 178) machines. Joining cables using variety of mechanical splices.

• Confirm performance and characterisation of fibre systems using insertion loss measure-ment techniques with smart light source and power meters (Exfo 980 max-tester) and PON power meters and OTDR’s.

• Proficient in E-side, D -side connectivity and qualified in install cabling systems. • Install and terminate copper cabling (Cat 5,5e, 6 and Co-axial) with a variety of intercon-

nection devices and connector types. • LAN Permanent link/channel testing with level 3 LAN Testers (Fluke DTX-1800, Fluke

DSP-4000,). • Experience working on various communication systems, operating HF, VHF, SHF and

satellite communication equipment from aerials to user interface with associated security devices

Career History

• EPOS engineer working for Odema installing all the data and IT requirements for McDon-alds stores nationwide. Including pulling and terminating CAT 5e/6 copper twisted pair, set-ting up small cab rooms for the premises, installing and setting up all the monitors and kiosks for the ‘restaurant of the future’ upgrade, installing drive through equipment, general DIY and testing everything worked correctly before handing over to the store owner.

• Data engineer for Sycom Data Solutions pulling cables, splicing fibres, terminating cables, setting up hub rooms, Installing CCTV and Wifi points.
