Summer Research Intern, Stanford University John Hopkins Marine Station, Crowder Lab, Center for Summer research intern, analyzed the commercial and non-commercial fish caught in the Monterrey Peninsula by small-scale fishermen and the policies implemented in area. Conducted background research on the fish and seafood industry of Monterrey Bay and collected and analyzed data of the local seafood sold at commercial and non-commercial places. Inputted data for small-scale fisheries project from La Paz, Baja California.Mentor: Dr. Larry Crowder Research Associate, Department of Marine Biology and Zoology, Boero Lab, University of Salento, Lecce, Italy, May 2012-August 2012 Extrapolated bibliographical analysis of Hydrozoa taxonomy of the coast of California. Conducted work in Hydrozoan Taxonomy of the Mediterranean sea. Created and implemented a new cultivation laboratory technique for Clytia hummelincki, an invasive species of the Mediterranean Sea. Investigated the natural water flows species thrived in to develop effective cultivation technique. Presented work at professional conference, NSF CAMP conference in Irvine, CA. Won award for research presentation, Special Merit in Biological Sciences. Sponsored Research Student through the NSF CAMP grant, Women in Science and Engineering Grant and Charles Ramsden Grant. Summer Research Assistant, Department of Environmental Science and Policy Management, Pallud Lab, University of California, Berkeley, June 2011-Aug. 2011 Utilized traditional methods to characterize the physico-chemical properties of sediments, slurry incubations and flow-through reactors to characterize the kinetics of Selenate reduction and selenium oxidation of sediments of the Salton Sea.Main purpose of research was to contribute to the BE-F debate: What's the contribution of diversity to ecosystem processes? EMPLOYMENT HISTORY: Jaws and Paws, Chief Operating Officer and Co-founder, May 2013-present A non-profit for the protection of sharks, polar bears and tigers worldwide. We aim to reach young adults and children specifically by providing knowledge through social media, internet/television campaigns, and other influential platforms for the youth about the need to bring awareness to the issues sharks, polar bears, and tiger populations are threatened by. By harnessing the youth with knowledge about environmental protection in relation to endangered predators we believe that we will create the opportunity for a better future in which people will be more conscious about conservation in order for sharks, tigers, and polar bears to be internationally protected. Award: Paul Walker Ocean Leadership Award Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Kaknab, Non-profit, August 2013-present Our organization’s mission is to implement community-based solutions that will protect the ocean and the culture it sustains through education and conservation. INTERNSHIPS: Hawaii Wildlife Fund, Maui, Hawaii, December 2012-January 2013 Interned for non-profit focusing on marine conservation efforts. Protected the endangered Honu: Native Hawaiian green sea turtle by teaching the community about reported tumors on turtles, their active lifestyle in the ocean, and their nesting season. Analyzed marine debris data and inputted in data collection. Restored native Hawaiian land under the supervision of the Kupuna to aid Taro farming and coral reef conservation. Funded Student by the Ramsden Grant.

Global Student Embassy, Bahia de Caraquez, Ecuador, December 2011-January 2012 Interned to solve deforestation problems of the coast of Ecuador. Analyzed land to come up with solutions to preserve the mangroves in La Isla de Corazon. Taught middle school students environmental science and

techniques to reduce CO2 emissions. Project and investigations were conducted in Spanish; translator. Funded student by the Ramsden Grant.
