Mannesman Germany.26” 5L-X70 Pipes for gas pipeline 128 kilometre.

Position Held Mobilized to Mozambique Inhambane / Gaza district for construction phase after

manufacturing was completed. Represented VGI Africa as a 3rd Party coating inspector in pipe mill and on construction

site.

Responsibilities:

Rompco loop line 2 construction phase (September 2016 to December 2016):

PQT approval for contractor to commence with coating activities.

Daily coating inspection.

Pipe receiving inspection.

Coordinating of coating inspectors.

Witnessing Adhesion testing on field joint coatings applied.

Witnessing of salt testing to ensure salt levels comply with requirements.

Implementing excel sheets to keep track of inspected and accepted pipes at laydown area.

Implementing excel sheets for Quarantined / rejected pipes.

Implementing excel sheets at laydown area to keep track of pipes offloaded and

received at laydown area.

Drafting all reports for entire project, welding reports, coating reports, ditching reports, weld mapping, valve inspection reports, and holiday reports as per client requirements.

Witnessing ultra-sonic testing.

Coating system :3 layer pipes prewashed & degreased, pipes preheated to 40 degrees

Celsius, pipe pass through centrifugal blasting to achieve sa3, pipes pass through induction heaters pipes heated to 70 degrees Celsius, Canusa epoxy applied through spray systems, adhesive and HDPE applied by side extrusion.

Coating system: surface blasted to Sa 3, Coating system: surface blasted to Sa 3, Canusa e-epoxy & Canusa GTS 80 heat shrink sleeve, Canusa wrapped bound tape, Carbogaurd 859, carbogaurd 193 & carbothane 134.
