Career Experience

..........................................................

06.00-02.12: Mahons Printing Works (2-3 Yarnhall St. Dublin 1), Graphic Designer;

I designed for a wide range of public and private sector clients.

I increased production speed and saved costs by learning to output film for lithographic

printing in-house using Agfa imagesetting.

I improved production by keeping abreast of any new tools and techniques in production

technologies (Adobe CS, QuarkXpress) and output technologies (Agfa).

I accurately interpreted briefs and worked at speed with high attention to detail, within

deadline.

My proficiency and skill with the Adobe Creative Suite and QuarkXpress was greatly

appreciated if a job required trouble shooting or correction for print output. This involved

dissecting every component and finding the sources of the issue. My experience lends me

good problem solving abilities in this and related areas. I’m very alert to potential issues.

I learned when speed was really of the essence and to work fast. Both through tight

deadlines and also printing machines on hold while an issue was being corrected.

I developed great working relationships with clients who often became repeat customers.

I improved the file storage system. The faster, simple locating of relevant files was

appreciated and saved time.

05.98-06.00: Staybro Printing (19/21 Annesley Place, Dublin 3), Graphic Designer;

Designed print work for a varied, private and public sector client base.

I designed several brochures for RDS events.
