2.3 Attaching a ToolAttach a tool (cutter pen, plotter pen) to the plotter.
Attaching a Tool
Whenmountingthetoolinthetoolholder,pushthetoolallthewayintotheholderuntilitsflangecontacts
theupperpartoftheholderandthentightenthescrewfirmly.Topreventinjury,avoidtouchingthetool
immediatelyafterthecuttingplotteristurnedonorwheneverthetoolismoving.Itisexplainedhereusing
cutterpenasanexample.
(1) Loosenthepenholderscrew.
(2) Whilepushingthetoolholderintheupwarddirection,pushthetoolallthewayintotheholderuntilits
flangecontactstheupperpartoftheholder.
•Whenpushingthetoolholderwithyourfingers,thebladetipmaybeprotruding.
Takecarenottocutyourfingers.

Thetwo-penholderisafactory-installedoption,andcannotberetrofitted.
(1) Loosenthepenholderscrew.
(2) Whilepushingthepenholderintheupwarddirection,pushthepenallthewayintotheholderuntilits
flangecontactstheupperpartoftheholder.
•Whenyoupushthepenholderwithyourfingers,thebladetipmaybeprotruding.
Takecarenottocutyourfingers.

Attaching a Plotting Pen to the Pen Station
(1) Openthepen-holdmechanismonthepenstation,andthenattachapen.
(2) Makesurethatthebracketofthepenstationisengagedintheuppergrooveofthepen.
(3) Closethepen-holdmechanismonthepenstationtoholdthepeninplace.
•Donotleaveapenattachedtothepenstationforalongperiodoftime,asthe
pentipwilldryupandmakeitunusable.
•Tostorethepen,removeitfromthepenstationandreplaceitsprotectivecap.

2.4 Replacing the Cross-Cutter UnitFollowtheprocedurebelowtoreplacethecross-cutterunitthatisusedtocutthemediaaftertheplottingor
cuttingoperationhasbeencompleted.
(1) Checkthatthepowerswitchisturnedoff(the“O“sideispresseddown).
(2) Removethescrewholdingthecross-cutterunitinplace,andthenremovethecross-cutterunit.

(3) Removetheprotectivecoverfromthereplacementcross-cutterunit.Besuretoremovetheprotective
coverwhileholdingthepartoftheunitshowninthefigurebelow.

(4) Attachthereplacementcross-cutterunit,andtightenthescrewtoholditinplace.
