APPLICATION GUIDELINES AND CHECK-LIST

1. Filling the Application Form [This is the Revised Application Form]

A. Please enter your name as it appears in all official documents submitted/will be submitted and ensure that it is entered consistently across all formal communication. Do not use abbreviated versions of your full name unless your name is abbreviated in your official documents.

B. Please fill ‘N.A.’ in the fields which are not applicable to you. Do not leave any field blank. If you leave blanks, the form will not be processed for admission.

C. Please be sure to fill dates in full in the format DD/MM/YY. Failure to do so may affect the assessment of your application.

D. The application form may be submitted either online or as hard copy. The relevant documents would be required at the time of personal interview and/or during admission.

E. Candidates who expect to be sponsored by the Department of Personnel & Training of the Government of India (DoPT), may like to see the circular of the DoPT for full details. (please click on ‘DoPT’ on the PGP-PMP webpage at www.iimahd.ernet.in).

F. Public sector candidates may like to pursue their sponsorship with their HR Departments. IIMA could facilitate this process.

To send the form online, you will have to download a doc version of the form, enter your application details, and send the same as a doc file back to [email protected]. To send hard copy, please take a doc version of the application form, enter details in print handwriting and send the same by mail to “Manager – PGP-PMP, Indian Institute of Management, Vastrapur, Ahmedabad 380 015”.

2. Documents to be provided with the Application

A. A recent passport size photograph, pasted on the application form (or sent as an electronic picture file with sufficient clarity).

B. Copy of valid passport in case the applicant is not an Indian national (hard or soft scanned copies)

C. Certificates and transcript copies (hard or soft scanned copies) of graduation.

D. Proof / certificate of having been employed in a supervisory / managerial / administrative position for seven years. This may also be provided in hard or soft (scanned) form. Civil servant candidates need to mention their batch, cadre, and state / organization where they have worked.

3. Documents for Verification at the Time of Personal Interview

The original documents listed below may be required to be produced at the time of personal interview:

A. One recent photograph.

B. Valid passport (for international applicants only).

C. A transcript of each entry in the Academic Background section The transcript must be in English. If your School/ College/University does not follow the transcript system, you may submit photocopies of all your mark-sheets and degree certificates. However, original documents need to be submitted (hand delivered) for verification at the time of interview and registration, if offered admission.

D. Original certificates/documents of

- Prizes/Awards/Honours/Scholarships listed in Section (8) of the form - Awards/Recognition listed in Section (9) of the form- Course/Programme listed in Self Improvement/Career Advancement Section (11)

of the form- Awards/Recognition listed in Section (12) of the form.

E. Documentary Proof of Employment History listed in Section (10a) of the form. (Any of the following or equivalent may suffice: Salary Slip, Income-Tax Return, Employer’s Certificate, Provident Fund Certificate or equivalent).

Please note that failure to produce the said documents may adversely affect your prospects of admission and/or may even result in exclusion from further consideration in the application process:

4. Documents for Verification during Admission

A. The original documents listed above (A. to E. in Section 3 of Application Guidelines and Check-list) would be required to be produced for verification during admission.

B. Information on three referees who are professionals and who know you well (preferably a colleague or a supervisor). They could be from

- three recent organizations that you have worked for (at least one in this category)

- key clients- academic institutions that you have been associated with.

Please furnish name, designation, organization, address, relationship, contact telephone numbers, and email ID for each.

5. Documentation not Mandatory but Preferred

If you have answered yes to either question (1) or (2) in Section (15), a letter of support from the organization is required to be furnished (at the time of personal interview). In the event that there is a change in commitment from the organization subsequent to the submission of the form, please convey the same in writing. Please note that this is not likely to adversely affect your prospects of admission.

6. Important Application Deadlines and Decision Dates

7. Additional Write-ups to be Sent by Candidates Short-listed for Interview

Short-listed candidates for interviews are required to send us a write-up on the following topics (about 500 words each):

A. What do you expect to gain from the PGP-PMP course at IIMA?

B. Describe a situation that has demonstrated your leadership qualities.

C. Give a description of yourself stressing the personal characteristics that you feel are your strengths and weaknesses.

D. Any other information that you believe will help us make a favourable decision on your application.

IIMA must receive your GMAT scores directly from the test authority for your application to be processed further. Photocopies of test results are not acceptable. Please note that your application will be considered incomplete unless the GMAT scores are received from Pearson.
