EZ-Fab Fabrication and Order Management

Acor's EZ-Fab Fabrication and Order Management Service has made the entire process of purchasing and tracking Custom Orthotics easier than ever!

This row of pull-down menus will help you navigate through Acor's EZ-Fab Fabrication and Order Management Service. From here you can view the Dashboard of your account (as shown above), where you can see and track the progress of all current orders as they are being produced and readied for shipment to you.

The Orders tab allows you to create new orders and keeps a database of all completed and archived orders as well.

The Patients tab allows you to add current and new patients and also keeps a database of all patient information.

The body of each section allows for all information to be input. This is where you will fill out all forms and view archived data. Each order form is comprehensively designed to eliminate mistakes and help you keep your business running in a timely and efficient manner.

Scanning the foot:Stand at least 24” away from the patient's foot.Adjust the bounding box (the cube seen on the screen that is the target area of the scanner) size so that it is just large enough to encompass the whole foot.Make sure the scanner is identifying the foot as the object to be scanned. It will highlight the foot in red when this is the case.Click the “SCAN” button to begin collecting data and move around the foot until the entire data collection process is complete. Scanned data will display in white.Stop the scanner when enough data has been acquired. Email us the scan from within the scanning app. Simple. It has never been this easy until now.

Scanning environment:Try to have a background that is neutral and isn't cluttered, with as few objects that can distract the scanner as possible.A simple background (floor, chair, etc.) with the patient wearing a light-colored sock is best.

Ideal Foot Position:Have the knee at 180 degrees and the ankle at a 90 degree angle, suspended off the edge of a chair or table, to ensure adequate access to the entire plantar surface of the foot including the back of the heel.

Structure 3D Scanner:The Structure 3D Scanner is the first 3D sensor for mobile devices and is ideal for use in the orthotic and prosthetic industry. Paired with an Apple iPad it is extremely cost-effective and captures the shape of an object, transforming it into digital data that can be used to produce orthotics and AFO Gauntlets. Using the Structure Scanner in combination with Acor's EZ-Fab Service simplifies what used to be a cumbersome, difficult-to reproduce process.

Cushion: Determines the amount of shock attenuation that the materials offer to the patient. A high number reflects a superior amount of shock absorption while a lower number indicates a lesser amount of cushioning.

Support: Signifies how firmly the materials will support the patient's foot. A low number indicates a softer material that will conform to the foot while a higher number indicates a more rigid material that will be more supportive.

The Richie Brace®

The Richie Brace® is a custom ankle foot orthosis designed to treat chronic conditions of the foot and ankle. Introduced to the medical community in 1996, The Richie Brace® has revolutionized the non-operative approach to the most challenging pathologies treated by the foot and ankle specialist.

With a contoured balanced orthotic footplate articulated to adjustable semi-rigid lower leg uprights, the Richie Brace® is ideally suited to stabilize rotational forces at the midtarsal, subtalar and talocrural joints . Modif icat ions and enhancements are available to add further restriction of motion in the sagittal, frontal or transverse plane.

The Richie Brace® is fabricated from an impression cast taken of the patient's foot and lower leg. This custom ankle-foot orthosis is reimbursable by Medicare and most third-party payors. Information on casting, coding and reimbursement can be obtained from Acor Orthopaedic, Inc.

The C.R.O.W. (Charcot Restraint Orthotic Walker) combines an ankle/foot orthosis and a custom boot to aid in the treatment of Charcot deformity. Our C.R.O.W. boot is designed to reduce plantar surface pressure with the familiar bi-valve configuration and rocker bottom sole. Within the C.R.O.W. boot, we have added a removable, tri-laminated custom foot orthotic which is crafted to offload the pressure on the foot.Additionally, our C.R.O.W. boots are available in Black or White and are lined with Volara for added comfort. Because the C.R.O.W. is easy to put on and take off, patients can bathe daily and maintain proper hygiene.

Casting Instructions and INDEX

1. Seat the patient near the edge of a chair so that both feet are resting flat on the floor. They should leave their socks on and make sure the socks are pulled up to avoid wrinkles showing in the foam. Gently, place one foot with the heel nearly touching the edge of the foam. The hip, knee and ankle should be at 90 degrees, as viewed from the side. The toes should not touch the upper edge.

2. Have the patient relax. Using downward pressure on the knee and the foot, with your right and left hands, push the foot evenly and completely into the foam. Make sure the toes do not touch the edge of the box, as shown.

3. Repeat steps 1-2 with the opposite foot. The impressions may end up in opposite directions.

Returned Goods Policy: Sales of custom configured items are final. Returns are not permitted. Products on an invoice greater than 30 days old are non-returnable (exclusive of manufacturer defects). Call or fax our Customer Service Dept. for a Return Goods Authorization Number (RGA#). The customer must identify the original Acor invoice number to which the return relates. The RGA# must be clearly written on the outside of all respective packages. Returned goods without an RGA# will be refused.The right to use a specific RGA# will expire 30 days after the date of issue. The original freight charge will be credited only on Acor errors (shipping, packaging, etc...) Call tags will only be issued for returns relative to manufacturing defects or Acor errors.
