Custom Control Panel Solutions

Prime Engineering offers a custom control panel division for improved product quality, lead times, and customer satisfaction. Our control panel shop consists of an experienced team of electricians, technicians, and fabricators who build and supply a wide variety of certified custom control panels for:

• Power generation (protection and control systems & Automatic Transfer Switches)

• Utility transmission and distribution substations (protection panels)

• Communication systems (Ethernet networks, SCADA, HMI)

• Water and wastewater

• Process manufacturing

• Load bank control systems

Prime Engineering has the infrastructure and experienced personnel for multiple projects as well as the ability to stage equipment for factory acceptance and witness testing. We can provide custom enclosures and kiosks for metering, indoor/outdoor transfer switches, and new enclosures and equipment for the modernization and restoration of existing infrastructure. We integrate control panels into electrical e-houses and existing enclosures.

As a certified shop, Prime Engineering provides panels bearing certification to CSA C22.2 No.14 and UL-508A; as such, our panels are considered approved equipment for use in electrical installations as defined by the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and National Electrical Code (NEC).

We can provide build-only solutions or complete turnkey services by supplying professionally engineered CAD electrical and general arrangement schematics, equipment procurement, construction, installation, and acceptance testing.

Our specialized panel shop equipment includes the following hardware for professional results in a timely manner:

• Industrial and semi-automated cutting, stripping, and crimping tools and equipment

• Professional grade wire labelling systems

• 120/208VAC, 347/600VAC, 24VDC, 120VDC and 250VDC power sources for complete equipment testing and operational verification

• Insulation and resistance testing equipment

Quality Assurance

Prime Engineering’s internal Quality Management System and our panel shop certification process ensures that each panel produced is thoroughly tested and must pass a multi-point inspection before shipment. We follow a precise system of document control and quality inspection for every panel we manufacture. We maintain electronic records such as drawings, bills of material and testing documents for every panel built.

On-site Support and Programming

Prime Engineering supplies on-site field verification and integration testing services for the supplied control panel equipment. In addition, our in-house team of control system experts can provide PLC architecture and logic designs as well as programming services. Our protection system design engineers provide protection coordination studies and relay programming. We offer ongoing continued support services.
