EXAMINATION CALENDAR 2012-2013INSTRUCTIONS

I. To the Candidates

1. Application for registration of any examination notified by the University shall be in the prescribed form available in the University web site ‘www.cusat.ac.in’ with cost of application and examination fee as prescribed by the University from time to time and should be submitted at the respective examination centres.

2.. In no cases, applications for registration of any examination received after the last date prescribed will be admitted.

3. The Candidate applying for registration of any examination of the University shall ensure that he is already matriculated to the University. Application for matriculation shall be submitted through proper channel. In the case of students who have passed the qualifying examination from outside Kerala state, application for specific recognition of their qualifying examination is also to be submitted separately.

4. Candidate should affix a recent stamp size photograph on the Hall ticket attested by a faculty member/Head of the Institution under the office seal of the institution where the candidate is appearing for the examination.

5. All candidates registering for final semester examination should invariably remit the cost of application form and fee for provisional certificate and degree certificate along with fee for examination registration and mark list, even if they have a few papers to be cleared.

6. Late applications recommended and forwarded by the Head of the Institution on genuine grounds will be accepted up to the last 10 working days before the commencement of examination only in exceptional cases with late fee applicable. In such cases, the applications will be considered only if they are specifically forwarded by the Head of the Institution through a separate reccomendation letter. Also the candidate has to remit the fee, fine and superfine as per University rules.

7. Applications for Scrutiny and Revaluation shall be submitted only at the Examination Centres within the time limit prescribed. In no cases it will be accepted directly in the University.

8. Students who are eligible for grace marks on account of participation in sports/arts festival competitions and NSS activities shall submit the applications for the same in the prescribed form to the Head of the Institution before 1st April in the case of even semesters and before 1st November in the case of odd semesters. Applications submitted after the last dates will not be considered.

II. To the Exam Centres

1. DCB statement shall be in duplicate, showing the details of candidates branch wise and scheme wise in the following format. A soft copy (CD) in excel format shall also be forwarded.

3. In the case of candidates registering for I & II semester examination, the list of candidates (along with a soft copy (CD) in excel format) arranged alphabetically separating boys and girls shall be forwarded.

4. While forwarding the list of candidates for registration of III semester examination, the word ‘Lateral Entry’ shall be specifically stated against the name of candidate admitted under Lateral Entry Scheme.

5. To enable issuance of hall tickets, hard copy of the following documents shall be submitted as per the schedule given in the Examination Calendar.

i) Certificate of attendance and progressii) Statement of marks/grades of the Internal Assessment6. Candidates shall be permitted to apply for registration at the Examination Centre itself till the last day prescribed for the same in the Exam Calendar. And the applications together with fee and other documents shall reach the office of the Controller of Examinations on or before the date prescribed for the same in the Exam Calendar.

7. In the case of applications for scrutiny/revaluation, they shall be accepted only in the Examination Centre itself till the date prescribed for the same in the result notification and the data of the applicants for scrutiny and revaluation shall be forward to the University on line the next day itself to enable the University to publish the result of scrutiny and revaluation within the stipulated period. The applications with proof of remittance of fees should reach the University within 5 days from the last date for submission of the same at the examination centres.

8. Schedules prescribed in the Calendar for Submission of proposals, details of QP setters, time table, applications, attendance, internal marks etc. shall be complied with without fail. Proposal on time table shall be only for PG Courses, B.Tech NA&SB, PS&RT, Instrumentation and Marine Engineering, LL.B and B.FSc.

9. The applications received from the students for the award of grace marks on account of participation in sports/arts festival competitions and NSS activities shall be consolidated in the prescribed form and forwarded to the following addresses within one week from the receipt of applications ie. 1st of April for even semesters and 1st of November for odd semesters. Applications submitted after the last dates will not be considered.
