Curtin was my dream university since I passed my undergraduate degree. From an education fair, I discovered that Curtin is ranked in the top 1% of the world’s universities, which quite appealed to me. There, the English Language Bridging Course gave me an opportunity to not only improve my academic skills, but it also taught me how to carry out multiple tasks at a time and handle stressful situations. ENGLISH PATHWAYSThe journey to higher education can take many forms. An English pathway enables students to combine their English studies and their university course to make their enrolment and visa application process simpler.

Curtin University and Navitas English have designed a pathway to suit all levels of English, with the aim of connecting students to their mainstream course efficiently and effectively.

Students who need longer English language studies can begin their studies at the Navitas English city campus before moving onto Curtin English courses on the main university campus.

CURTIN LIFEStudying on campus at Curtin English is the perfect preparation for higher education at Curtin University.Once students have settled into their course, students are accompanied on a campus tour to meet academic and support staff.

At Curtin English, students are provided with a quality student experience. Campus activities and events are organised regularly throughout the year, providing students with many opportunities to balance their academic studies with social activities.

GATEWAY ENGLISH COURSEGateway English develops your English language and academic study skills. The course includes interesting themes such as lifestyle, media, travel, study and technology. You will practise reading and listening skills, writing and speaking skills and you will improve your grammar and vocabulary for general and academic situations.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE BRIDGING (ELB)*The ELB prepares students with academic literacy and study skills prior to progressing to your main degree at Curtin. It also prepares you for life as a student on the Curtin Campus.

* ELB provides direct entry into all Curtin degrees except: Bachelor of Education (Secondary Education), Master of Clinical Physiotherapy, Master of Psychology

ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEST RESULTThe English course you need to take will be determined by your English language test result. Some of the English language test results we accept are IELTS, TOEFL, PTE-A and CAE.

If you don’t have a recent English language test result, you will need to complete the Password Test.

PATHWAY PLANNING AND PASSWORD TESTWe want to ensure that your recommended pathway provides the best learning experience to achieve your language goals, and for you to get into your next course at Curtin University or Curtin College. To do this, we use your English test results or the Password test to start planning your pathway before you arrive. Once you’re here, we offer pathway-planning sessions with your teacher to make sure you stay on the right path.
