I have worked within the water ind. for many years and feel my strengths are in fault finding, problem solving, teamwork, supervising and commissioning.
When working to the water service I commissioned our own sites i.e. Water/waste pumping stations and reservoirs. Then working for the water service I liaised with Purac/En-pure and Bi-water on large Profibus wastewater plants during their pre-commission and snagging stage thru to the main commissioning where I had to cross check all io’s and alarms from source thru plc. Scada to telemetry.

I was asked by my projectmanager to assist the team here as they were behind and had a lot of problemsgetting the project going. Position held: Commissioning Engineer
Duties: Commissioning as part of a team, the inlet works of a large sewage treatment works in Tottenham for Thames Water. Setting up profibus and divicenet networks, Allen Bradley soft starts and vsd’s operating nine 360kw pumps, screening and de-gritting plants controlled by A.B. plc and siemens ultrasonics. In the next phase I was charged with de-commissioning the old inlet works while maintaining instrumentation and networks until the new kit was commissioned and brought on line, which was completed on time to allow civils to move in. Phase B involved integrating 8 existing pumps including 4 off 3.3kv to a new Mcc and another set of 9 pumps with existing mcc to plc control.

Position held: Instrument Technician
Duties: As a Water Service Technician I was in charge of commissioning and testing of new installations both in clean and dirty water applications this involved working to a schedule setting up semicodes, VSD’s, flow meters, level transmitters, D.P. cells and various analytical instruments. It also included I/O testing on profibus networks to the plc and digital/analogue remote I/O
signals. Once a month I would be working to a maintenance schedule calibrating and servicing our instruments and keeping records for validation. I would also have to carry out maintenance and fault finding on breakdowns from replacing motors, pumps, blowers and valves etc. to monitoring and modifying PLC programs via direct connection or Ethernet. This also included 24 hour breakdown and confined spaces duties.All installation work would be carried out to the 16/17th edition electrical regs. and Water Service specs. SS200E, SS232.EUSR card.

Duties: Maintaining servicing and supply of generators, welding machines, compressors, water drilling rigs, and mobile camps within the United Arab Emirates.I also had to supply shore power to USA, British, Russian and French navies in Bahrain. This involved manually synchronising 2-6 generators depending on the size of the ship and its demand.
