Small Animal Theriogenology clinical rotation (VM 639) - 1997
The Small Animal Theriogenology clinical rotation is designed to give hands-on experience
on diagnosis, treatment, prevention and management of disorders related to canine and feline
reproduction. The primary objective of the rotation is to provide opportunities to vet students
to work with animals received at the WSU Vet Teach Hosp Theriogenology service.
Small Animal Theriogenology course (VM 575) - 1997
The course is designed to give Oregon State University (OSU) vet Students information on
management and disorders of the canine and feline reproduction as it relates to veterinary
practice. The curriculum committees of the OSU and WSU veterinary colleges have
approved that this should be a required course for all OSU students.
International Field Studies (VM 504) - 1996
Memon, Mushtaq A. Page 14 of 65
This is a formal, structured overseas externship program. Vet students receive 1st -hand
experience in public/private practice or other institutions related to international veterinary
medicine. The site of the externship may be generalized or specialized to include (but not
limited to), socioeconomic, cultural, exotic/zoo animal, aquaculture, avian, public health,
regulatory medicine or research emphasis.
Scientific Writing and Presentation (VM 600) - 1995 ‘Senior paper’ has been a requirement for graduation from WSU-CVM for a long time. As coordinator of the senior papers, I revised the guidelines and the senior paper was approved to be offered as a separate 1-credit core course to senior DVM students. The students write and present a paper with the help of a faculty mentor on a topic related to veterinary medicine.
Comparative Theriogenology (VMS 584) - 1993
The course objective is to provide and enhance the graduate students' knowledge on the latest techniques in reproductive control, enhancement, pregnancy, parturition and postpartum conditions as well as infertility in domestic animals. International Veterinary Education Program - 1992
The goal is to provide opportunities for veterinary students to understand international issues in veterinary medicine, foreign culture and socioeconomic systems. International Veterinary Medicine (VM 501) - 1992
Developed and coordinate teaching of this one credit elective course offered to veterinary students during fall semester. Tufts University – School of Veterinary Medicine
Small Animal Theriogenology – 1989 2-wk elective is offered to senior DVM students to participate in hands-on experience in Small Animal Theriogenology cases coming in the clinics and write a report on a topic related to canine or feline Theriogenology. Equine Reproduction Center – 1988 The facilities include a mare barn, a laboratory, a stallion barn and paddocks. The services provided at the center include embryo transfer, breeding soundness examination, infertility diagnosis, mare endometrial biopsy service, stallion semen collection and shipment. Equine Theriogenology – 1988 The course is designed for 3rd yr vet students to provide hands-on experience in equine reproduction. Louisiana State University - School of Veterinary Medicine
Theriogenology Residency Training - 1984 Designed a 3-year residency which includes multi-species clinical Theriogenology training and MS degree from one of the basic science departments, School of Veterinary Medicine. Mentor: Dr. Philip GA Thomas, BVSc, Resident, Theriogenology Section, LSU, 1987.
