Wim Voogt graduated in 1998 at Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences after studying Garden & Landscaping and specialising in Design. Since his graduation he has worked at OKRA. Initially his role was a designer / illustrator then from 2002 he worked as project manager, and became director and partner in 2010. Wim is a strategist. He has keen analytical skills, which enable him to quickly understand various projects. From an enthusiastic vision, he directs the development of spatial quality. Within the office, Wim has a coordinating and inspiring role. Together with a motivated team he has the ambition to work on priority projects in order to create beautiful living environments. Wim Voogt is a visiting lecturer at the Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam, Van Hall Larenstein and the University of Applied Sciences in Nijmegen and Arnhem. He was juror for the design of the temporary pavilion Amersfoort 750 and in 2007 he contributed to the exhibition of New Cargo Landscape Architects in the Architecture Centre in Utrecht AORTA. In the coming years Jaarbeursplein will transform in several steps from existing residual space to a high quality urban space. Redesigning the Jaarbeursplein and the construction of its underground car park is one of the major integrated tasks on the west side of Central Station, which is currently being prepared as part of the masterplan CU2030 by Project organisation Station Area

Client: Sittard city councilYear: 2009 - present.

When developing the urban vision ‘Zitterd Revisited’ OKRA’s main ob-jective is to create a legible street layout and form inviting places to stay. The master plan distinguishes the differences between the city within the walls and the city to the northwest thereof. Two long axes, the shopping axis and cultural axis, connect both parts forming the route between the station and the market of Sittard.

Client: Provincie Utrechtyear: 2010.

Quality Guide Utrecht landscapes: a usable guide to help professionals make Utrecht landscapes stronger and better, set up and supported by a wide multidisciplinary team of county employees, politically supported. Important building block for the provincial structural vision.

OKRA made 6 booklets; Groene Hart, Waterlinies, Arkemheen-eemland,Rivierengebied, Utrechtse Heuvelrug and Gelderse Vallei.

Client: Hoogheemraadschap van Rijnland en municipallity KatwijkYear 2010- precent.

Katwijk aan Zee (NL) currently has a weak coastal defence. In cooperation with ARCADIS, OKRA have designed a new and safe coastal area. A spe-cial feature within the coastal defense is the underground parking garage, which was developed with the municipality of Katwijk. The focus of the design is to create a good connection between coast and village, together with recreational use in the new dune area.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

In the Netherlands the health & safety responsibility lies with external specialist companies for the full duration of the project. OKRA has worked closely with specialist health & safety companies such as ArboDuo, Maetis and MKB and Wim is knowledgeable in the design risk principles of health & safety. During the construction phase of the project the main contractor is responsible for the health & safety of the works and site until completion of the works. OKRA has a proven track record of creating and realising high quality safe designs as can be seen from the extensive list of project in the Netherlands and internationally..
