RESEARCH EXPERTISE

Prevention science, applied behavior analysis, program evaluation, positive behavior supports, response to intervention, functional behavioral assessment, school safety, youth violence prevention, and juvenile delinquency prevention. Current projects include a five-year R01 research grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse to evaluate the effects of Positive Behavior Support interventions in a group-randomized trial, four Goal 2 development grants from the Institute on Education Science related to Positive Behavior Supports, Response to Intervention, and PBIS in Juvenile Justice Settings. I also direct multiple evaluation projects related to at-risk youth and school safety. RESEARCH AND LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

Administrative, Research and Strategic Planning • As co-director of the Institute on Violence and Destructive Behavior, responsible for federal, state,

and local research, demonstration and evaluation projects, scholarly publication activities, course teaching, and community education and service.

• Develop and teach courses in the Special Education and Clinical Services and the Family and Human Services departments.

• Design, implement, and evaluate training and technical assistance activities. • Provide training and assistance to local schools; state and local school districts; colleges and

universities; city, county, and federal agencies; and adult service programs throughout the United States and abroad.
