- Leading Professor at the ETSIA (Madrid) of the Principles of Economics (1967), Agricultural

Economic Structure (1968) and Agrarian Marketing (1968, 1969, 1970, 1971) courses up to obtaining the

chair in 1971.

- Full Professor of Agrarian Politics on the advanced course of Agrarian Economics at the CEU

leave” from 1976 to 1983, when he re-joined the ETSIA. He remained a full time Professor until his

retirement in April 2011. It is noted that in the Teacher Evaluation carried out by the UPM (since the

2000-01 academic year), where students were asked about 14 items about the teacher, subject, compliance, dialogue, etc. the global average of courses from 2000/01 to 2010/11 was 4.91 and the

“subject proficiency” was 4.96, both out of 5.

- “Jean Monnet” Professor for the European Commission (since 1991). First “Jean Monnet”

Professor of the UPM by agreement of the European Commission (EEC).

- Director and Founder of the Master’s Degree in European Communities at the UPM (from

1985 to 1994). This was the first Master’s Degree in European Communities in Spain. It was removed in

1994 by Alberto Ruiz Gallardón upon becoming President of the Community of Madrid, eliminating the

financing granted under the mandate of Joaquín Leguina.

- Founder, creator and promoter of the European Research and Documentation Centre (CEYDE)

created in 1985 at the UPM and sponsored by the European Commission – The first Centre of its kind in

Spain.
